evening everyone,
so i'm just about to buckle down and go get myself the new iphone - unlocked off contract. the only factor holding me back to this point was choosing a plan. now, a family member works for rogers, allowing me to obtain 50% off of my monthly bill (sans retention) - through either rogers or fido. After looking around at both websites, i went down to the mall and asked around. of the two, fido offered me a better deal, giving me the following for $65 a month (32.50 when reduced 50%):
-250 anytime minutes [per second billing]
-unlimited evenings/weekends
-unlimited incoming/outgoing/picture/video texts
-500MB data
-Visual Voicemail
-and the usual hotspot access and call waiting/conference

is there a better plan for equal or less from rogers, or did rogers try to screw the pooch?

also, anyone know if apple market mall has any 16GB models in?

Hey guys I'm new to iPhone...quick question
I'm able to upload songs to the phone thru my macbook but it doesn't let me to move any songs from the iTunes to my phone if it connects it to a PC.

Rogers people!!

Are any of you on the rogers network having a problem where the phone freezes and the call drops and then its non responsive for like 2 minutes and touching the screen does nothing?

Hope you guys/girls who just bought the new iPhone 4s don't have too many regrets after seeing the announcement of the new Blackberry torch today.

That phone looks so sweet.

I love Apple but I can't wait to get the Torch.

Well... I finally said goodbye to Bell. I'm now a new Virgin Mobile customer! I couldn't get that great of a deal with Bell after calling them up several times. Plus, retailers had me on this huge waiting list for the iPhone 4. They only had a shipment sometime next week... and chances are I wouldn't of been high enough on the list to get mine during that week. Also, it seems new customers were Bell's priority, or so I've been told.

Anyways, there was a few 16 GB models available at Virgin... and they had a $30 for 6 GB deal... so I called it quits with Bell (my contract was done a few months ago) and signed on with Virgin Mobile. I have no regrets!

Nope. Nothing exciting enough about the 6.0 software or the Torch to wow very many people.

Unfortunately for RIM it didn't excite enough people ... stock fell 4% the same day....

Virgin Mobile... Bell.... Either way Bell gets your money :p

Hmmm. Give up my "retina display"? I can't see me ever doing that, especially for a RIM product. The iPhone 4 display is just too good.

Agreed. I tried going back to my 3G just for fun, and the display just seemed horrible. Once you use the Retina display for a few days, its a painful experience going back to the sub-300dpi screens. Also have you seen the UI for the Torch in action? Looks laggy, unresponsive and slow. I'll pass.

LOL. Thanks for your concern, but no. The Torch looks just like every other Blackberry to me, and in terms of the technology, it's totally cutting edge... in 2007. ;)

Its incredible putting a 3G/3GS next to the 4 and seeing the difference in ppi. Actually I don't find the iPad as enjoyable anymore now.. though I can't imagine how amazing an iPad with 300+ ppi would be.

The Torch itself seems like a bad idea (and a very high percentage of employees at RIM don't seem to like the physical phone either), but BB6 OS is a major improvement for them, and in person its actually not laggy at all, very very smooth.

Ha ha.....I expected these responses so I'm not too concerned. Please understand I know how great the iPhone is but it doesn't meet my COMMUNICATION needs. I'd love it for web browsing and apps and video etc....

Have you actually, physically seen the Torch in action? I haven't but it looks great on the videos I've seen. If it turns out that the Torch is like the Storm and isn't any good I'll just pick up the latest Blackberry Bold. That is also one fine looking machine.

Then I use my iPod Touch for all the multi-media needs.
