The CANADIAN iPhone thread.....

My first iPhone plan was when I got the 3g.

($25) 450 Minutes shared Family Plan + ($30) iPhone Bundle which includes:

Between Us Calling
150 Pooled Weekday Minutes
10000 Sent/Unl.Received Txt
iPhone Data Access 500 MB
Visual Voicemail

O ya it comes out to be $63 per month because of the system access fee.
 
Do you guys think those who just signed a new 3 year contract at the iP4 launch (even though I'm a 5 year customer now) will have much luck with retentions??

I'm at a $100 a month now...even if I can get the 6GB/$30mth package for free I'd be really happy! I'm thinking of telling them I heard Telus is giving it away for free when customers are over $60mth on their plan.

Think it will work??
 
Probably not as they know it wont be true.

Just call in and tell them you want to lower your monthly bill and your friends are receiving discounts. Im sure they can knock 10$ off that data plan.

And you can get other features cheaper.
 
I cant bring myself to return my iphone. I just love it too much :)

Just wondering if there are any cases that will help the antenna problem. I bought the rocketfish gel case from BB, but it doesnt seem to help the issue as I can still replicate the problem. Im going to return this case today.

Does anyone have any sugesstions as to a case I can pick up in toronto that would help my antenna issue.

Why not exchange the phone itself for another one? Maybe you got a real bad one.

Definitely will have luck with retentions.. Actually you'd be crazy not to call and work out a better plan. Few pages back someone posted the link to the Rogers retentions thread on RFD. It's definitely helpful to read several pages there and start making calls to retentions to negotiate a much lower plan including 6GB. It seems definitely possible to get a plan at $50+tax including 6GB and many good voice features... and possible to drop down toward $40+tax if you have more luck with getting additional credits.
 
Anybody know if they have the phones back in at Market Mall, calgary! They were out yesterday afternoon.

Same question here. My dad's bday is coming, and I want to get one for him as present.
 
Guys Rogers retentions has 16gigers available.

I just placed an order. Be firm and tell them Bell has them in your store. Also mention the fact you ran all around town for the past week and a half without success. If they say no tell them to go check stock before declining.

She said it will arrive in 3-7 business days.

yes you will. I signed a 3 year deal when i got i4 and then a week later called and got Value pack added and credited, plus added 6GB data and got additional $5 credit

You just need to know how to talk to them, be nice and talk to retentions, not the regular CSR's

Is the case program on available through the App on the iphone itself?

Wanted to order the case ahead of time so that its here when I get the iphone itself.
 
You have to download the app on the iPhone 4 to order the case.

I'll get mine ... Sep 20 :rolleyes: (meaning I already shelled out $20 for a case .. because I can't wait that long)

HELP setting up Cogeco email account on iPod Touch

Can someone please help me set up cogeco email on my mom's iPod Touch.

It doesn't seem to work....

I've tried setting it up under "other" when initially setting up a new account.

I've tried incoming servers as pop.cogeco.ca and outgoing as stmp.cogeco.ca

I know I have the right user name and password, yet it still won't activate properly.

What am I doing wrong...or not doing at all?

Please someone help as this is driving me mad! lol

Most likely it's the incoming/outgoing servers. Are you sure those are the correct ones? Also, make sure you have smtp, not stmp. That's a typo I make all the time.
 
I finally got my iPhone 4!:D

Got it yesterday at about 4pm after waiting 7 hours and a bit in line at the Fairview Apple Store in Toronto.

Got there at about 8:30 am and was roughly 46th in line. Employee comes out saying they have none in stock at the moment. Ok so we just waited. A while later they get a shipment, but no iPhones. They then come out saying that they aren't getting anymore shipments and people might as well leave. About 30 people left, which put me to about 16th in line. (Lucky eh)

About 2 hours after that they get another "surprise shipment" which included iPhone 4s in both 16GB and 32GB. A while later they start taking names. At about 3:30 we finally got inside the store, they got me an iPhone 4 32GB, activated it, all within 15-20 minutes.

Oh man, this iPhone is just, wow. As Scott Forstall said: "The screen on the iPhone is blow away."

This phone feels so solid, it has a nice weight to it, and the screen is just incredible, I have no words for how brilliant this screen is.

Thanks for the response....I only made the typo here at macrumors, but it was correct in the mail settings.

I can't figure this crap out....I can receive mail fine but no sent box is in the mail app and it won't send any mail at all...but receives fine.

Anyone help please??

I haven't used Cogeco mail for a few years, but in the past I used to get issues with sending mail using Cogeco's SMTP server when not connected to a cogeco internet connection. Not sure if this still causes problems or if you are connected to a wifi network with cogeco as the isp anyway..

I'd say ur lucky for 2 reasons....
1. You got an iPhone 4.
2. If you didn't get an iPhone after waiting in line for 2 hours AFTER employees told you they weren't going to get it, you'd be the butt of all ur friend's jokes :p
