Get him to call Retentions. 1-866-304-4248. Thats their direct line.
Just say.. that your friends are receiving discounts, youve seen better plans with bell/telus and youd like to lower your plan. Your thinking about going there and that Bell is willing to pay half your ETF.. Youll see what they'll do
Now this might take a few phone calls to get all the credits like i got, but i did that over a span of like a week or two.
But its pretty easy. If hes paying 80$ currently he should be able to lower that down to like 60$ for a joke.
Just know what you want and be polite. Dont go in and say I want credits! Have a valid reason like i said. I txt a lot and would like to know who calls me etc.. Then i said my friends have the Retention Value pack and their getting it credited? She said yah Sir no problem just one second.. Because i was paying 15$ before and was getting 500 txt, VM, CID..

I just started my plan with Bell, like their basic iphone plan, $50 200minutes/500mb/ my-5, evenings/wknds etc and I got $5 off because I have landline/tv/internet, so it costs me $45
I wasn't aware of the 6gb/data (even tho I really dont need it) but you suggest that i should call retentions after 2-3 months as well and see if I can get other stuff added?

Nice! Were they being hesitant to give the extra $5 data credit?? How did u approach it?
And is the my5 included in the $20 plan? If you don't need the my5 then I would switch to the 17.50 plan which will get rid of the saf and replace it with $2.58 grrf fee. Then your plan will be nearing the epic level lol
I know for Rogers you have to wait 6 months before you can get any retention plan, probably the same for bell

seeing as how I was paying, with Koodo, $40 for 50 minutes/50 texts.. call display.. and my 5 on a crappy phone.. now for $45 I get the iphone and what I listed beforehand lol so much better
Nah not really they gave it to me right away so it was pretty easy. The my5 is included in the 20$ plan. Plus i really need it for the long distance calls i deff get my USE out of it
This $20 plan beats the $17.50, I think Once i consider my credits and what not
Yah Rogers is actually 12months before Retentions.. But if you call and not happy they will do it sooner. I just heard bad things for Bell retentions and that it wasnt nearly as good as the Rogers one.
I know some bell customers that have gotten excellent deals through retentions as well - I guess it depends on who you talk to and how persistent you are..

Just do it now. Tell them Rogers is offering you a better deal. Mention that Rogers is willing to pay your ETF and your inquiring what the total cost would be to cancel. Mention that you likes Bells service with the fact of reception and what not but youd want to decrease your monthly cost as your friends have received discounts and you dont know why?
Just be polite and tell them what you want.
and they would consider doing that even after only being with them for not even a month? I also have Bell TV / internet and landline - I can tell them that too.. maybe that will push them for a better deal as well.. I've only just begun my mobility account with them.

Right now MTS is offering a FREE cellphone contract if you own Home Phone/TV/Internet with them. Yes, you heard me, 100% absolutely free. Tell Rogers that you're thinking of switching over to MTS because of this. When they ask if it includes data, say "yes". Retentions rep gave me $10.00 off my Data because I called in about that.

That looks like a solid deal.. You got quite a few credits. Im almost scared to call back and ask for more lol!

the early evening credit came with the plan. The only actual credits I have are the CID/VV, 15$ voice and 10$ data.
Never be afraid to ask for deals, you just have to be able to word it correctly. Be firm and don't be afraid to get aggressive (not overly) and you'll get what you need.
Oh yah just call them and tell them. Just tell them your thinking of going to Rogers.
?i was browsing hofo and i noticed that retentions had phones in stock.
i called in, explained all the bullshhh i went through in the past 2 weeks.
the conversation went like this
me: "do you have any iPhone 4 in stock so i can order one?"
him: "no, and i can't even put in an order because it will just be deleted"
we talked for like 15min about how the iPhone 4's glass is crap, talked about blackberry's and Rogers lol.
after all that, he said
him: "ok let me see what i can do"
me: "ok"
him: "ok i'm going to place the order, but i think we're out of stock. as soon as stock comes in, the phone will be shipped out"

(in my head) didn't he just say that he couldn't do that so my order was put through, the guy was really nice. hopefully i have an iPhone 4 FINALLY in my hands by the end of next week.

it's called having a discussion... guess you never heard of one.
i've had an iPhone since 2008 and have yet to drop it/break the glass in anyway. i'm sure i'll be fine.
I just ordered my free case from Apple. I went with the Speck PixelSkin HD.
It says it ships on September 20th and delivers on the 27th. Haha. Maybe it will ship sooner...
The ones that ordered it on July 30th should have a confirmation ship date with arrival of sometime next week =)
