Ya I know what's happening in the US but we live in Canada, the country that comes second.
i find it weird that all you guys plan on going between 6-8 am. I'm with fido in ottawa, and apparently they opened their stores at 7 a.m last year, so i'm lining up around midnight, no later than 1 a.m.. I have this attitude where 'i absolutely MUST' get the i4 on launch day, so the earlier the better.
Thats my plan. If there is no pre order, ill just get up early, drive to my local apple store and jump in line at 5 or 6 and see if the line is long or not. I dont plan on getting in like 4 days before and not sleep until i get 6 white iphone 4s.
Lining up at 1am - That's dedication, man. What was last years 3GS launch like?

I dont see the point in getting a phone unlocked for 700$ or getting it for 200$ on a 3 year term.
Why? Well because with that unlocked phone your still going to have to get a plan/prepaid so thats gonna run you a monthly fee anyways..
So getting the phone for a subsidized price 200$ you can use the other 500$ technically towards your plan payments that you saved in either case..
It just seems more logical and its almost as if you bought the phone for 700$ your gonna end up spending more money down the road cause of the plan. While in a couple months or more you'll be able to unlock it yourself (soft unlock of course)
lol i don't see that as much dedication, honestly. I'm planning to line up inside a mall, but if the mall doors are closed, it's not really a problem as the weather is fantastic. If it was mid-december or i was camping out for a week like that dude in texas did, then yes, thats major dedication. I'm gonna take some subway with me, a newspaper, and a portable dvd player to keep me up all night. If you think about it, 1 a.m till 7 is only 6 hours, and it will fly by. nothing crazy really..
Really depends on how badly you want the phone. I have a feeling that if you miss out next weekend, you're gonna be waiting for upwards of 3 weeks till they get more stock, but that's just me. And i've been on a ****** 2002 motorola phone for the past month waiting for the i4, so i'm dying to get it asap.
Good point. For me, I'd rather not be on a contract anymore but I need a new phone. My 3G is water damaged. So, I'm that's why I'm open to HUP or unlocked.

Well if thats the case dude, might as well get a new 3 year term with a new phone and some perks on the plan.
I mean if you were into a new contract like 6months and wanted a new phone so bad yah sure i guess you know spend the 700$ and use it on the current deal.
But since your due for a new phone/HUP i think your MUCH wise choice is to get it on a 3 year term.
If you crunch some numbers you'll see it.
My contract is done i believe in january next year im planning on getting the I4 with a new contract and get some perks of course for staying with rogers
LOL same here. I sold my Iphone 3G as soon as this iphone hype started. So I can get a good deal. And I did. So its been more than a month and I hate this old Nokia N97 that I have been carrying around. So yea can't wait forsure.

I'm stuck with a dumbphone too at the moment so yeah I really want the iphone4 at launch date and I dont feel like waiting another week or more.
But I dont think they will sold out in less than a day... and it's a normal day of the week so most ppl will be at work.

I got my 3G in April 2009 so who knows.
I'm noodling a couple ideas, like going both routes and selling the unlocked one.
I hope more people are thinking like you, more for me
Yah i heard one guy is quitting his job to make it down in line for the 30th to get it.
Ill probably just launder over at lunch to rogers wireless and see what the deal is with the phone and see the plans. Then call retentions and bargain with them for a new deal.
Still got 6 months on this contract left, so I dont know, you guys think its early to call in and bargain for the new I4 when its released?
You guys are talking about using dumb phones.... i have NO phone. My contract is still active. I'm still paying my bill, but haven't had a phone for about 2 weeks and still have another week to go....

I'm in Stoney Creek/Hamilton and am planning on going to either the Rogers store @ Eastgate Mall at 7A.M. or the one on Queenston Road near Lake Ave.

Why not get a el-cheapo phono from kijiji for like 40$ that will do the trick...?
