Ok guys, how about this. Since most of us will renew their contract with the same carrier, why don't we share what plan each of us has and how much you pay for it. And when your current plan's contract will end? I'll start with myself:

Current plan with Fido:
$35 plan
- 350 daytime minutes (outgoing local calls)
- unlimited incoming (local calls) [it should be +$10 more, but was offered for free]
- unlimited weeknights/weekends start 7pm till 8am (outgoing local calls/receive any calls)
- unlimited international text messaging (send/receive)
- +$5 iPhone package (caller ID/visual voice mail/who called messages) [it should be +10, but was offered to pay 50%]
- +$30 6GB data plan

total = $70 + other fees (taxes, province's fees) [no access fee]

Ends in December 2010 (eligible to purchase phones on agreement price)

I wonder what could I get when I renew my contract?

With which carrier? Is this a retention plan? It seems like a pretty good one!

The day is drawing nearer...

At least Apple has officially announced that we are getting it on July 30th. Now Rogers just has to spill the beans, probably around Wednesday or Thursday.

So close now guys.:apple:

16 GB or 32 GB

Hi

I will be getting an unlocked one. which one would you advise, 16gb or 32 gb?

With Fido. I just need to compare it with other carriers for low prices. Because I was in Telus store today, and was told a plan that could be offered with the new iPhone 4. I got to tell you that if it's true, I will sign up with Telus with no doubts.

I don't want to post here what the rep offered me because he was speculating about it so basically someone in the forum could share their experience with Telus, or other carriers.

Are you serious? We all want to know the deals? You think we would go tell Mr. Rogers about this "deal" you heard about?

No one here is looking out for either 3 of the cell companies..

You should just share the info.

No problem

here is what I learned today from Telus

$50
- 150 anytime minutes local calls (probably incoming any calls)
- 450 minutes BONUS local calls (same thing above, but man 450 mins is really to way high, I doubt if it's true)
- If you have more than one user on a family account, unlimited calls between each user
- Select from the below options
- double anytime minutes, which is 150 x 2 = 300 mins
or - unlimited calls, text NATIONWIDE with five favourite numbers
or - unlimited text messaging (incoming/outgoing) not sure nationwide, north america, or internationally
- unlimited local call weeknights and weekends start at 6pm (I guess receive any calls too)
- 1GB data plan
- Voice mail and call waiting and conference calls

+$8 for caller ID

total = $58 with extra fees (taxes and so on) [no access fee]

Someone needs to relax...

Seriously, why shouldn't people talk about their plans? I think it's great that we can share this info and use it to our advantage in re-negotiating with our providers.

Also, at least some people are making an attempt to keep this thread alive. The fact is, this is the most redundant thread around. Everything we read here is speculative at best.

We have not come across a single credible thing about this release since Steve Jobs said we would get the iPhone 4 during his July 16th press conference. We need to do some solid investigative work here people...

Who here is up to joining me? First things first. For those of us in the GTA, we need to place calls to Apple stores (yorkdale, sherway, fairview, square one...) and ask for store managers. Press them for info/details about Friday. Pricing? in store carrier upgrades? When do lineups start? Will malls let us in to lineup early? Etc.

We may be able to gather some solid info as we are a mere 4 days away from the release. It's a shot in the dark, but I'm sure if we all call multiple stores we can cross reference each other for similar information.

I posted one post, and seems others like to discuss about it

If this thread has rules to follow, I would show my respect

Is this for real? Wow... Sounds like the Rogers plan on 10x the data.. And well voicemail and caller ID.

ya, cause this thread is full of info about the iphone 4 only. Theres not 5 pages about the leafs being the best team ever...

Well, iPhone 4 is also going to be sold in carriers' stores. People would love to know which carrier they should go to

That's the thing. If you read my reply, I clearly support people talking about their deals... it's good for us to know what types of service we can get out of our providers and the prices of those services.

As for rules, don't worry about it.

Some people lose touch with their manners when their identities lie hidden behind the computer screen...

My mistake

it's actually 1GB

Sorry again

LOL thought so, atleast you didn't lie about it.

Anyways for those interested here is my plan.

Current plan with Rogers:
$25 plan (Mega plan)
- 150 daytime minutes (outgoing local calls)
- unlimited Network calling (rogers to rogers, rogers to fido, rogers to homephone)
- unlimited weeknights/weekends start 9pm
$15 iPhone value plan (2500 text, caller id, call waiting, visual voicemail, who called)
$30 6GB data plan

Total = $70 + access fee + TAX

I enjoy this plan because i only have very few friends and family that I call. All of which use Rogers. ex. My Gf and I talk for around 1500 minutes a month, but since its free (I put the same plan for her as mine) we dont pay anything. We get to text alot (in class and stuff) basically with no limits. And I get 6gb data for my iphone and wifi ipad (using mywi)

Thanks
AE

So you think unlimited network calls fair enough to have comparing with other options such as 350 anytime mins + anytime unlimited local calls for the same total price?

Actually guys if you go read the first page of this thread it says basically "a place where we Canadians can talk about anything iPhone related"

So relax already and drop your mean spirited additude, the guy can write whatever he likes and if you don't like it, you go to HOFO

Let's keep the peace people.....we're Canadian remember! lol

Well yea but its a personal choice. I mean I call my gf my family and 2 other friends all use rogers. So I dont even use my 150 mins. I use 1500 network calling minutes a month. So you tell me if I'm better of with network calling or 350 mins?

Again this works for me because of my circumstances. It might work differently for you or other people who have friends using telus and bell.

Thanks,
AE

Exactly!

Anyone reckon we'll be able to buy via the online store and do an in-store pickup? Wondering how long I'd have to wait for shipping if I just order online.

@Sdao

What carrier you are with? How do you feel about renewing your contract, if you are considering a locked phone, in terms of commitments and other obligations. Sometime I think I just want to get an unlocked phone instead of being obligated to a specific carrier while technologies never stop developing!

I have no clue about this since I don't have apple store in Halifax. I would actually ask a similar question whether I'm able to return whatever I ordered online to a regular apple's store or not?
