So their not even 199$?? Thats sweet!

Now lets see what rogers does!

I currently have voice and data (email on BB). I am not eligible for an upgrade as I move to a BOLD 2 last November.

Would this scenario work? I can cancel my data plan, pay the $100 fee and enroll in the new 3 year plan $6gb/30. Would this mean I would be HUB eligible or considered a new plan so I can get better pricing for the IP4?

I was wondering how it's gonna work for the people buying an unlocked iPhone from the Apple Store. Do you need to go buy a micro sim at a carrier store after you purchased the phone or does Apple have some in stock? Can they transfer your account to your new phone in the store?

just got off the phone with rogers (my provider) they told me im eligible but wont know any pricing till tomorrow night.

i purchased my iphone 3gs 32gb in march via HUP , so im guessing everyone will have a crack at the phone subsidized (before june 7).

You will most likely need to buy a micro-sim. Costs about $10. Then you should be able to change it from your old sim to the new one online, avoiding any additional "activation" charges.

Or you can cut your current mini-sim to the size of a micro-sim.

at this point, I don't even really care about pricing. I will just go into the apple store, charge whatever the phone costs to my rogers account, and then spend the next few weeks arguing with rogers to get the cost down to what I think I should pay.

Oh so thats why people are dying to make their big sim into a micro sim. So if I walk into a Rogers Store on friday and get an iphone 4, they will attempt to charge me $35 for activation? Can I avoid this by telling them that I'll activate it myself at home?

thanks
AE

so you are going to the apple store? not a rogers plus? are you paying full price?

Thanks

good luck, you cant charge them to your account.

you have to pay for the upgrade upfront, at least for rogers.

they do not do phone orders either, only in store.

Not sure about that.
If you are doing a HUP they will charge you the $35, i'm pretty sure of that.

If you are just simply buying the phone outright then you can avoid the $35.

Oh thats lame, I'm not paying $35 dollars for activation or I'll pretend until I get out of the store with my iphone in my hand. Then I'll call ROGERS and bug the hell out of them until they give me multiple discounts.

Thanks
AE

damn i was about to put my 3GS for $400, maybe ill try $430 and throw in 2 cases

Including cases in your offer is a great incentive above everyone elses offer. I did the same and sold my 3GS for $450 the same day I put it on Kijiji

Yes you can hup your rogers account at an apple store and the phone will be charged to your Rogers account, not billed at point of sale.

I'd have to agree with this statement.

And not this one. I don't believe this is correct.

So i cant call rogers friday to work out a nice new retentions plan and have my iphone shipped to me?

Like how can you do a retention deal/plan while at the store?

If anyone in this thread is interested in purchasing a new Zagg shield for their iPhone 4 I was sent two coupon codes for 25% off.

Today is the 28th and they are only valid for seven days.

If you're interested PM me and I'll send you the coupon code.

Funny Story

So, been keeping very close tabs over the last month just dying to see when we'll get the iphone4. Been a long time iphone user, well I just couldn't wait any longer. Google announces last shipment of the nexus one, so I figured why not get an unlocked nexus one, keep for two years then get back over to the iphones. In reality, I only did it to try something new and to stick it to Rogers when my contract is up.

So I got the phone last Wednesday, pop in my SIM and it magically connects to Rogers, does it's thing, works perfectly.

Then. . . . . It begins rebooting, check the forums, oh seems to have affected quite a few people. Call Google, "hey I have a bad phone, send me a replacement", they route me to HTC, sorry about the issue, we're sending you a way bill to ship it back for a replacement. . . . That was over a week ago..

Call them back on Monday, where the hell is my way bill email, "Sorry sir, we'll send one right now, will be in your inbox within the hour"

This morning, I wake up, check email.. Still nothing. . So now I'm pissed, I've had the phone for a week, constantly rebooting, called them this morning and I'm now returning it.. Please understand, I was actually super impressed with the phone, it did things very very well. But if it's not paired with good customer service it's bound to fail (and it has).

So I left the apple eco-system, only to run right back.. So I'll be in line at the Apple store, Friday morning..

Have to hand it to Apple, their customer service is amazing, I never realized it until I tried somebody else..

yayaya, I know, should have never left, but you never know how good you have it till you try something else.

The prodigal son returns! hahaha Welcome back buddy! :apple::D:apple:

So, not a single white iPhone4 will be available? just wanna make sure :)

I'm so hesitant to buy a black one on Friday if I'll even get a chance to get to an Apple store, assuming the on line-ordering won't work out for any reason!

its gonna be a black :apple: Friday in Canada ;)

funny, i was planning on switching to the white iphone after previous two being black, but still had doubts if i really wanted it and couldn't really make up my mind. Im glad apple did that for me :p and i wont have any regrets for not getting the white one since there wasnt even an option hahaha

this is what i was told from 2 different rep's on phone.

retention deals are totally different, the plan can be done through retentions and has nothing to do with upgrading the phone unless you want the phone cheaper (unlikely they will budge on it but who knows).

matter in fact i just did my retentions plan mod's (added a couple bell offers to my contract free) through phone retentions and i will be getting a iphone 4 with no plan modification at all.
