Just replied to your PM. I'll let some of the pm that PM me know about the location closer to thursday night. I really dont want people spreading the word and seeing 100 people lineup at that door. PM me thurday night and I promise ill let you then.

I just called BestBuy, and the guy told me they won't sell the unlocked ones. They got the demo stock, but they haven't received phones yet.

By the way, he said each phone will be sold with a free bumper.
 
Damn now I'm debating on lining up after all....I figure if I don't get one from lining up then I'll just give Fido a call and try to order one that way.

Is anyone thinking of lining up at the Fido store in downtown Vancouver? I'm wondering if the lineups are going to be a total gongshow or not. I could head to one in the 'burbs, but they're all in malls and I don't want to be caught in a race to the store when the mall doors open.

Also-when you get a microsim is your old sim card taken away/deactivated? I'm going up to Whistler this weekend and I'm kind of apprehensive about taking a brand new phone with me-was thinking of taking my old iPhone 2G with me instead if it will still work.

And how do things work at the Apple store? I want to buy the iPhone with Fido dollars-can I do that there? I also have to activate a retention plan that's currently on my account.

I'll be going at the Virgin Mobile kiosk at Centre Eaton instead of the Apple Store because I'm sure there will be way less people there. I don't even know if someone will be really waiting there (except me) when they open.
 
How does lining up at an Apple Store inside a mall work? People line up at an entrance and rush in the Apple Store when the doors open?

no its a formal line. There isn't a mad dash once the apple store doors open. On iPad launch in Buffalo you were given your own personal shopping assistant.

Now, getting inside the mall to even get to the apple store, that might be a different story.
