Something I noticed in My Rogers...
When you click on Upgrade My iPhone (not Upgrade My Phone) it no longer shows the 3GS page (hasn't shown it for a while now) but now it doesn't lead anywhere. Just a page that says "Available phones" at the top and that's it.
Also, there's a new option there, called "Change SIM Card" which doesn't lead anywhere either.

When I click "Upgrade to iPhone" it takes me to the upgrade page and see both the 3G and 3GS.

Hmm... I don't have the "Upgrade to iPhone" link, only "Upgrade my iPhone". Although, when the page is loading, I see both but when the page loads I only have the one.

I just got off the phone with the Apple store.
They said they weren't sure the iPhone 4 would be sold unlocked at the store, and only carrier activations would take place. Only account holder's could hup, and not authorized names on the account.
Does anyone have different results regarding the unlocked unit sold in store by calling Apple?

Im pretty sure that they will be selling unlocked phones in store (that's what Im going to buy). Can anyone confirm this? Im going to call local Apple Store tonight and see. Im going to Square One location. If anyone wants to meet there, PM me!
EDIT: Is it also true that they will only take credit cards?
Just got off the phone with Fido in downtown Vancouver (the flagship store next to Pacific Centre). This is what I was told...
-no exact numbers for stock, but that it would be "very, very low". And this is a downtown flagship.
-no Fido dollars towards purchases (really, not a big deal-just pay $200 for the phone and use your Fido dollars towards your bill for the first couple of months-it works out the same)
-new customers/end-of-contracts ONLY. NO HUPs. He said because stock will be limited new customers or those who are at the very end of their contract will be allowed to purchase the phone.

Well I just got off the phone with another rep and he said that apple won't be selling the iphone 4's through their online store at all. I am going to try to call back and speak to yet another rep. I don't think these guys know anything though.
by the way things are sounding its gonna be a disaster come friday morning...no HUPs, no unlocked phones at apple, only credit card...I'm just gonna call rogers and tell them to send me a phone in the mail to my work or something...unless my sister can some how snag 2 at apple unlocked on friday morning...she's pretty good looking
If your in Calgary, give up on market mall (calling them) they are useless. try calling an edmonton location, they might have more details (i figure if one store will have unlocked all will!)

Its rogers fault they should have prepared info for us now.. if they deny it im just gonna threaten to cancel my contract.
Just spoke to a girl at the Market Mall Apple Store here in Calgary, and she told me that they have no idea whether the iPhones will be unlocked or what. She said that they will only know on Friday morning.
I asked her about what is going on with the mall doors and whether they will be opened. She said that when the ipad launch the doors were open to the mall at about 4 AM.

Just called the Edmonton Apple Store and the guy told me that they will be receiving the unlocked iPhones. So there you have it folks - know one really knows anything. Haha What a giant mess this is.

I just called Apple and they couldn't confirm or deny. They only said that maybe its best that I go to my rogers store in order to avoid any unexpected hassles, like not being able to upgrade my girlfiends account, of which I am an authorized level 1 on the account.
EDIT: Just talked to another apple store rep, he said that Apple has access to the same system as does rogers and they can see if there is an auth level 1 user on the account, hence they will be able to HUP the account without the primary user being present.
Why not, call in, HUP, they send phone to your home/work...done deal...might just take a couple weeks to get based on stock
I spoke to a friend who's very high up the store management chain @ the Market Mall location. He said they expect less than 10 iphone4's! He said that Roger's Plus Stores in Calgary will have the bulk of the units.
I will be hitting the Roger's Plus in the NW for sure.
