AFAIK Telus does not have a "return the phone and cancel the contract policy"

At least they didnt last year when I worked for them, that's risky stuff, don't do it!

Will I be able to buy and activate my iphone 4 at apple store? Or do I have to take it to rogers? I'm talking about subsidized pricing $249 for 32gb.

It's pretty restrictive. Something about 15 min of talk time or something

Rogers' policy is:

If you are not satisfied with your purchase, you may return the product as follows: (a) wireless devices within 15 days from the date of activation with less than 30 minutes of airtime used (see “Cancelling an Order ” below for further details), (b) wireless accessories within 15 days of purchase, and (c) all other products within 30 days of purchase. While all orders are checked for accuracy before leaving the warehouse, it is your responsibility to review the contents of your order when received. All returns must be sent back as described in the documentation included with your order, and cannot be returned to any of our retail locations.

If you would like to cancel your wireless, television, home phone or Internet access service, please call the number on your return form. If you are cancelling your wireless service within 15 days from the date of activation with less than 30 minutes of airtime used, you will only be billed for all charges incurred up to the point of deactivation. If you are cancelling your wireless service more than 15 days from the date of activation or after 30 minutes of usage, then any applicable early cancellation fee may apply.

Telus should be similar, my guess is?

I wanted to order online but the Bell representative said online orders wont begin for 14 days. I don't mind going to the Bell store to see if they have any.

Based on this thread, it seems like no one is lining up in Vancouver so demand clearly isn't as high.

The interesting thing about fairview is that there are so many options, don't know where everyone is actually planning on going.
Rogers store, bell store, telus store, fido store, tbooth, wireless wave, best buy mobile, and Apple.
Hopefully most people are going to try and hup at one of those places and apple has tons of unlocked at rule price lol.

Ok I should nap, going to leave at 3:30.

Dude I'm going straight to sherway. Not going to even mess with fairview.

Hey just wondering, do you need to have an iPhone 4 to get the 6GB/30$ from Rogers? I am planning on getting the iPhone 4, but may not get it for a few days (going to try to order it online).

So can I get the 6GB tom and start using it with my iPhone 3G?

Online Stores

The apples stores for some of the the countries that got the iPhone first only started taking orders today. So you maybe waiting quite awhile for the Canadian online store. Has anyone heard that it's definitely going to be selling the iP4 tomorrow?

Is Apple even going to sell the iPhone online? As mentioned before by another poster, the Australian online store isn't selling the iPhone yet and it's Friday afternoon there.

Also, there's _still_ no official confirmation from Apple on what the actual unlocked price is. What's going on!?

Based on what iPhoneInCanada.ca mentioned, it is confirmed that apple online store will start selling iPhone 4 on the 30th. But situations in different countries such as Australia speculate the falsity of this fact.

Dammit, just realized my backup plan (Best Buy Aurora) doesn't have Mobile department! Good thing I checked first.

Might have to go all the way up to Newmarket if Markham is done (in which case I assume Richmond Hill would be done as well).

Exactly what I'm going to do, it seems to be just another data plan that be attached to any other voice plan. I'm going to do it over the phone, so hopefully the Rogers tech support guys aren't going to end up charging me an ECF for my data that I'm using right now... :/

Ya I looked around, and from what I read, they wont charge you a ECF if you have a separate data plan. If you have a voice + data, then you may have to redo your whole contract.

Anybody know when to call Rogers. I am thinking about getting up at 7 Mountain which is 9 Eastern. To late? to early? Good time?

I don't think Rogers opens their plan and service lines until 9AM Eastern, and at that point it will be freakishly busy I'm sure. The plan is available until September 30, so if you can manage to wait a couple days I'm sure you'll be wasting your minutes a lot less. :p

Here's the lowdown on yorkdale:

318 am
108 people in line
they have taken everyones name and will ensure no mad rush into the mall
mall doors open at 530am
security has been told by apple that they have plenty of stock to last through the weekend

my pal AE over at fairview says:

200 in line
security is not taking names
mall doors open at 630
