Speaking of car mods, I just saw these pictures online
You have to be kidding me...

It is the stock LCD, and entirely stock connections. The factory radio has a rear auxiliary port which I fabricated a composite connection for. I then ran this to an HDMI to composite converter (one that supports HDCP) and connected to my Apple TV. Both of these are (temporarily) running to an inverter plugged into the 12V port just in front of the shifter.
So is it just controlled through the ATV remote? Or do you control via WiFi + "Apple Remote" App through your iPhone?

4. I plan too. The valve cover should be a straightforeward. The Cam Sensor, will be a bitch on the otherhand. I need to invest in a Tite-Reach first.
Wait, isn't this sensor recalled by Daewoo? Why not have the dealer take care of it and save you the time and money?

Either-or. The infrared of the ATV remote doesn't like to go through the glovebox too much, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for that rumoured bluetooth remote. The Remote app over Wi-Fi works well (at least, it did until iOS 9, now it crashes at launch. ) but I mainly use AirPlay to just pick up where I left off on my phone.

Thanks for the compliments. It definitely is a sleeper, and this one happens to be one of 9 of its build, so might be worth something to someone someday.

Nice. I was hoping for some [exterior] pics. A buddy of mine picked up a G8 when the firesale started in the US due to GM shutting down Pontiac, so I got some "hands on" time with one. Really impressed at the original MSRP, but at the discounted price it was an _insane_ deal. Those Holden models we got for a few years were really outstanding - I'm a big fan of the LSx, so I loved that you could buy a 4-door, a 2-door coupe (GTO), a Corvette, a Camaro (even a Caddy) that shared the same motor, and as such, had a huge aftermarket to choose from.

He wound up selling it after owning it for a couple of years for almost what he paid. I think it was partially motivated by wanting AWD in his neck of the woods (NY), and an SUV-ish type vehicle for better "stuff" handling (he actually wound up with an FX50, kind of cool hot-rod SUV).

Can't believe I'm contributing to the delinquency of this thread, but thought this was pretty neat, and a mod, and some outstanding DIY (just stumbled across these pics).

Years ago I scored a set of Volks wheels for about 15-20% of their retail because of the condition, my plan was to refinish them, but I wound up not digging on the fitment. So I sold them to a guy I chatted with quite a bit on the S board, and he kept me in the loop with his refurb progress.

So this is the worst wheel of the bunch, and the second photo are the results - just shows what some skill and elbow grease can produce :)

NICE!

Yep, he did a great job (I thought I had some final pics on his car, can't find them). I mean, that's a couple of weeks work and about $400 for a set of wheels that were originally $600-700 EACH and are super cool, Japanese market only, super light, etc.

There's a great wheel company here in Daytona, FL called CCW, and they've got an excellent program for refinishing wheels. I had a set of my CCWs redone by them: they're disassembled, confirmed for tolerances, refinished (bead blasted, polished, painted, whatever), new fasteners, tires remounted as needed with a very precision balancing. You can ship, but I drove my set down to them, got to check out the facility, see some of the manufacturing process (even some prototype designs). I want to say they were $125, maybe $150 each for the complete service[?]

Neat stuff, highly recommended for wheels.

Here's mine back from the process (these are more for track vs. street, though they had street tires at the time)

What Dealer? The nearist one is over 80 miles away and is the only one in the state.

Might be worth it rather than spending $1000 at a shop or a zillion hours of time doing the sensor yourself.

Or see if they'll let a Chevy dealer or other mechanic do the work.

I've driven further than 80 miles to buy a Mac...

I can't imagine letting that distance put me off taking the car to the dealer for what should be a free repair.

I was thinking of going for the steel wheel look too. Then I thought instead of paying $300+ per tire, I could just buy donut spares for $150 each.

See attached.
