Well, after much deliberation I finally sold my supercharged Dodge Charger R/T AWD.
It has 549 hp and 488 lb.ft. of torque, at the wheels. It looks bone stock from the outside; it's a sleeper.
After all the $$$ spent and angst dealing with a modified car, my interests have changed and it is going to a new home in Wisconsin.
Now I'm in the process of (mostly) restoring a 1996 GMC K2500 Suburban with just over 100,000 miles, which will be used primarily for towing our camping trailer. It's in the shop for minor bodywork and a complete paint job and hopefully will be ready this week. We'll see.
For a daily driver my 2008 Chevy HHR SS (with a 5sp manual!) is perfectly suited to our rural two-lane twisties, can haul a surprising amount of stuff, and gets decent gas mileage. And it's a blast to drive, even though it's FWD. It has fewer than 60,000 miles on the clock, so it has a lot of life left in it.
Life goes on.

A friend had a HHR SS that he used for runs from the DC area to his cabin in West Virginia. He loved it. He had a shop do a few things to it. It was decently quick. Unfortunately a logging truck on a back road lost a chunk of a tree and it totaled it with only 56k on it. He was very upset. He replaced it with a Blazer SS.

At 50k miles, the engine on my 2012 Fiat 500 imploded As reported in this thread.Thank goodness that I had a lifetime warranty so I got a new engine for $100. Now less than a year later I’m noticing a clunky sound that comes from the body of the car when driving. The steering feels good and the car feels stable so as this model car as had recalls regarding steering noises, and the warranty still stands on this car it will be back to the dealer for an inspection. Any 500 owners here?
If I can ignore that the engine imploded, this car as served me well for 10 years. 🙂

I have a really annoying sound clunk rattle when driving my 2012 Fiat 500 sport. Only 32,000 miles on it. Too many Fiat owners are having the same problem. Knocking sound from front suspension

After many colorful tales about a car (2012 Fiat 500 Sport) that got excellent gas mileage, but a horrid maintenance record, I’m almost sad to say it is history. After the last 4 week stay in the repair garage because it would start intermittently, despite a lifetime warranty on it, that I had already recovered about $15k in repairs, it was time to see this go via trade in, although if it had been up to me (something about perceived benefits of being a bachelor 😉), I would have driven it into the ground,
As is we got $4500 for trade in, the dealer at first wanted to give me $3k, to which I said no. The Fiat was replaced with a 2020 Mini-Cooper S Convertible, which was sold for $29k. This too is not my doing as I look at my better half, who wanted a convertible but her knee bothers her too much to drive a stick shift (our 2016 Miata). If up to me I would have purchased a new Toyota Prius which cost less than this car and reportedly gets 50+ MPG. You can’t always get what you want… 😳

The local Cisco rep at the time had one. I asked him what it was like, and he said it's like driving a go-kart. A really fast go-kart. It also has a lot of room, more than people would think, but his wife was pregnant, and she already was hinting the car had to go. They hadn't introduced the ClubMan at that time, so who knows. He also said it was more fun than he'd ever had driving in the snow. *shrug* He's likely got the third of his minivans so far...
The weather is getting nicer, time to help my daughter get her toy car out and ready it for some meet ups.

My SIL is on her 3rd Mini. She loves them and has never really had any problems with them. Good looking car. 🙂
My sister had one of the early ones, and only gave it up when she had twins.
The only issue that I know of, is the Supercharger needs to be rebuilt after some high number of miles.

it gets decent gas mileage but told my wife we should have gotten a Prius, 55MPG. 😳 She wanted a convertible she could drive… 🙂
LOL I made that mistake once. Got a Prius. I hated it even more than she did. We got the anti Prius to cleanse ourselves afterwards. Traded it in against a brand new Mercedes-AMG GLS 😂 But fast forward a few years and downsized via a Mercedes-AMG GLC to a BMW M2C and now a Polestar 2. One could argue that Prius mistake costed me dearly and for many years. Just don’t do it.

Question. If 99% of my car journeys are just me, how does the carpet on the passenger side get so dirty? It was worse than the drivers side.

HVAC -- if your settings are to focus on the floor heat then that contributes to it.
I assume he has a cabin filter, that works. If not, this would make sense. I don't have dirt issues beyond my HVAC with my filter.
Slight dust, maybe. But visible in carpet? No.

Nah. It was just Mrs AFB footprints. Just not sure how she can make her side dirtier than mine given how rarely she (or anyone else) is a passenger.
I NEVER drive with my windows open, never. I don't even like putting the window down for ATMs, and drive throughs. I do get dust on the dash after a couple months, that a single wipe of a microfiber cloth solves.

Yes there is a cabin filter. No dust anywhere as I keep the car spotless. It was just the car floor mat.
My wife does the same. It's because we care enough to avoid dirt, or knock off dust before entry. My wife will avoid the clean ground to jump in a pothole full of muddy water before entering...

Lol. In the house we have a no outdoor shoes rule. Maybe I should implement the same for the car!
My pharmacy, ATM and Starbucks are my regular drive throughs. But I'm in an urban suburban area unlike you country peeps...
