Not a problem anymore? LOL just google "s8 burn in"
crazy many results come out like this:

LOL this is funny. Apple just needs to show something new and Apple doesn't want to make one, it is that simple. And you know what? Just like the extremely easy to break back glasses of 8/8+/X, the burn out factor would let Apple makes more money. Glasses broken/burn out mark after 1 year without apple care? Get some money (like $200-$400)out of your wallet and Apple fixes it for you no worry!

This is hilarious!! As if Samsung is the answer! After 3 yrs of ownership and sketchy updates it becomes so slow u need to buy another r jailbreak it. Not to mention bloat ware. Go and try and make mockery of someone else.

You really have to try to get burn in these days. Some users will of course experience it, but most will not. I had an S3, S6 Edge and my Tab s2. None of them have/had any burn in.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised. Samsung is probably too busy thinking of eleventy bajillion new software features to bog down Android. My god, I was looking at an S8 earlier, and even just the camera app is a mess.

While Apple doesn't have time to design and make screen so just buy from Samsung right? LOL while Apple calls it an "innovation", placing order form Samsung sounds very innovative!

Huh? And...?

How long does it take to burn in? I've never really kept up with the technology
I've had multiple phones with AMOLED screens. I never found it a problem.

Do you even know how this works? Let me clear it up for you. Apple designs their products inside and out and hand Samsung/Foxconn/etc the build orders. All the manufacturers do is build to the specifications Apple wants. Samsung has the ability to make the screens that Apple needs, so they got the order.

It shouldn't have ANY burn in. That's why a never bought a plasma tv. Waited for the led to come out

You know that LCD's have this thing called "image retention" right? It leaves that same type of ghost image as you'd see with burn-in. The only difference is that SOMETIMES it is reversible.

Honestly, the LCD's apple have used throughout the past have ALWAYS had yellow tint uniformity issues. Meaning that parts of the screen are darker and or more yellow than the rest. To me, that's just as annoying.

I didn't and still don't like Samsung, but comparing to this:

Samsung doesn't sound like too bad, at least it did have some real innovation.
The worst and most famous part of Samsung phone is the burn-in, and I am really surprised Apple just buys the worst part of Samsung...Apple management...really amazing in many different ways

I would say, US stock market crash, may be started by Apple stock crash.

Samsung is pretty much the only manufacturer of AMOled screens. Samsung also relies on making products that are used by everybody else. I.E. veverymsimgle Snapdragon chip.

Their working on that. Setting up competitors to build a superior screen then Samsung. Apple will do it. Jobs set the company up beautifully

So you mean Apple designs the screen inside out but not using Samsung designed product at all? LOL XD welcome to find a source show us.

Ok first of all image retention can happen on all displays, and it is ALWAYS reversible. OLED has the chance to burn in, which is non-reversible. Most times you just have image retention and can get rid of it, it’s only if you really keep abusing the screen that you get burn in. LCD’s are pretty much immune to burn in, at least when you compare it to OLED.

Apple sets a requirement, and chooses whichever vendor can fulfill it. They buy it from Samsung because they can build them that way. Why would Apple waste time designing a completely new display when they have Samsung there to make it for them?

I’m not sure why people expect Apple to do a better job of dealing with burn in than Samsung though.

No, image retention is not always reversible. You'll see "usually reversible" multiple times in the article. Oh, and to try to reverse it, it means keeping the screen off or bright white for long periods of time. I don't know about you, but on a phone, I don't have the luxury to leave it off for days at a time.

set a requirement is different from what you said "design in and out". Apple has no clue how Samsung creates the screen. Apple doesn't design the Samsung screen in and out.

When was the last time you saw an LCD with image retention? I’ve never had this on any of my phones or displays.

I have my brightness up all the way 100% of the time. The brighter it is the better it looks.

Jobs was great but the current management has no idea how to continue.

Apple must have really pissed you off huh. Couldn't get another after abuse of the phone? Let me give an example. Buy a truck run it threw scrub brush total it and want another for free! Lol
