I hear a couple people wondering why they didn't just blow the bomb. Maybe those were the words you couldn't understand bane say. It was all about giving the people of gotham just enough (false) hope that they think they will be able to overcome the odds. The regular citizens didn't know the bomb was degrading. If I remember correctly they thought it was only on a detonator.

Anne Hathaway was bangin'.

Yup. He was making Bruce watch his city go to chaos before destroying it.

I have heard some suggest there should be subtitles for Banes
Is it really that bad?

I thought so. I was thinking it during the movie, and my girlfriend mentioned the same thing on the way out. I really had to concentrate to understand what he was saying, and at points I missed it. They really should have thought about not using an accented voice; that through the mask dealie that he wears really made him difficult to comprehend.

Paid £7.85 to see this, what a waste of money.

Lacks any interesting characters (golum, tyler in fight night, Roy Batty in bladerunner...)

Also am I the only one fed up of watching bombs count down in movies? It has become the ONLY suspense tool that is used, films need to get more original in this respect.

Good music and sound in general.

Not as good as the last one.

The imdb top 250 position continues to amaze me.

EDIT: About the end, remember the autopilot thing? jumps out while its still on auto pilot...swims to cafe.

I really enjoyed it (not as much as The Dark Knight but very good). I can't help but wonder if Heath Ledger hadn't died if the Joker would have made an appearance at some point. It seemed like everyone from the other films showes up somewhere why wouldn't he have been in Blackgate with the others?

I liked Drake (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) as a cop but could have done without the Robin reference.

Great film, probably 4/5, but not as good as the Dark Knight.

Bane just seemed too untouchable, being able to beat up anyone he wanted, whereas the Joker seemed to be more sneaky and just slip away rather than having to punch someone in the face.
Anne Hathaway was great though I thought.

Just my take on it. Still, really good film.

Oh yeah, does anyone know what that scar was on Miranda Tate's back? There was a close up of it when she was with Bruce but I never figured out what it was.

If the movie would've been the same as now I don't think The Joker would have worked. Sure he brought chaos and anarchy to Gotham but much more then that he wanted to play with Batman not kill him unlike Bane. Incase he would have been I think he would of rather blown up Bane for fun. I'm basing this on how I've got to known the character from TDK.

Truer words never spoken. I think I saw a recent pic where she had little boy hair (not even pixie hair - even shorter), so that kind of destroyed her sex appeal by about 2,000,000,000,000%

Haha! After this Batman, I went home and had to watch "Love and other Drugs." It's basically a soft porn with Hathaway in it. NICE!

Anyone else reminded of Deckard Cain from Diablo when Bane speaks? At least to me, it was similar enough to almost be distracting.

But loved the movie otherwise. A little long, but I liked how they wrapped it up.

Totally, bomb count downs are so cliché. They should do something else for originality, like instead make it so that it's not a bomb, but really a fusion reactor, that's slowly losing containment, but at a predictable rate.

D***it now thats all I'll see when I watch it again :p

I thought the movie was better than the TDK.

As echoed by many people however, it did feel like Nolan was trying to cram a bunch of things in at once, probably to keep the run time <3 hours.

However, I liked Tom Hardys portrayal of Bane. Was it better than Heath's Joker? No, but I still thought he did a great job. I honestly thought this was Bale's best movie as batman also, although it would be nice to have an explanation of how he escaped the bomb, because, even though we know he fixed the auto pilot, we really didn't see it.

Although it was good and I actually liked Bane's voice (thought it was creapy sounding), the dark knight was a much better overall movie. Batmans voice was laughable and there were too many roll your eyes moments in this

THAT is the beauty of Batman ... the disappearing act! Cristian Bale/Batman said it himself "So that's what it feels like" (as the catwoman split on him lol).

The Plot,
The quick quips/jokes,
The Character introductions,
Getting the audience on edge 2mins into the movie (priceless)!

and Bane ... being the TRUE villain (along with ghosts of Batman's past: Ras Al Gul). The voice, the STRENGTH vs Batman, the insanity in control!

Blew me away ... the defeat of Batman in the tunnels right up to and including the breaking of his back!!!

BANE!

incredible movie incredible performance. Cannot WAIT to see this in iMAX 3D as I know it will not be overdone!

Does anyone remember where The Dark Knight Rises says g*d d**n? I rather not hear this word. I know I'll probably recieve some rather mean comments, but oh well, to each his own. Thanks.

Remember the scene in the beginning after the wall street heist where batman is underground chasing bane and his men (where Blake accidentally disables his stun gun)?

Where can I find the music for this part?

I loved it. It was a worthy end to the series I think.

I think if anything it highlighted just how good Heath Ledgers portrayal of the Joker was. Bane just didn't have a chance.

I grew up collecting comics and have been a Batman fan since then. I think Nolan set out to do a version of Batman that was true to the original, but at the same time a bit more realistic. There are people out there that literally do not have the ability to "suspend disbelief" and thus they always complain about things, but overall I think Nolan did well in this pursuit.

For example:

- A common critisicm of Batman is that no human being could take that kind of punishment. Nolan showed a broken Wayne whose body had suffered tremendous damage.

- The gadgets were cool and, for the most part, pretty believable.

- Robin has always been criticized by people because of the "boy wonder" sidekick thing. In the comics the original intent behind Robin is for Wayne to train a successor for when he is no longer able to perform the duties of Batman. Nolan masterfully put this into his plot without doing the "sidekick" thing. For those of you who didn't get it. The "real name" Robin was just a nod to the story, Blake is going to assume the role of Batman as protector of Gotham. That's the whole point behind the theme that "Anyone could be the Batman".

- In the comics Bane breaks Batman's back. In the movie they never said his back was broken. They said he had a vertabrae or disc that was dislocated and was subsequently popped back into place. Of course no once can recover from a broken back in 3 months.

There's more, but I just wanted to make a few points. I really enjoyed the film, but then again I didn't have unrealistic expectations. It's another superhero movie and superhero movies are about fun with a little bit of a "moral to the story" thrown in. Entertaining, yes. Fun, yes. A great date with my wife, yes.

At the time I grew up into collecting comics, DC was kind of uncool ;) at least here in Germany, but I was wondering if the original Detective Stories were, well, more about Batman being a detective?
