At the time I grew up into collecting comics, DC was kind of uncool ;) at least here in Germany, but I was wondering if the original Detective Stories were, well, more about Batman being a detective?

I didn't start collecting until the 80's so by that time Batman was pretty much superhero all the way, but from what I understand some of the early work by Bob Kane did emphasize his detective work a little more. I think we also have to recognize how much of this is affected by technology and it's rapid growth. Today a lot of Batman's "detective work" is done by computer and not the old fashioned way.

He seemed to be able to fly back to the USA, sneak back into Gotham and find Selena (catwoman) pretty darn easily.

That is true, although I don't appreciate it too much. If I remember right, the campy Adam-West stories, besides all the cheese and comical effects, combined both, 'intelligent' reasoning and some cool Bat-tech stuff. But my memory may play the wrong tape there..don't know if you liked them back in the days and if you're interested in movies but I just recently learned that the great Egg-Head was playes by Vincent Price.

Anyway, sorry for OT . haven't even seen TDKR yet.

So we should assume he fixed the autopilot? It wasn't very obvious.

I can't tell if you're joking or not. There's was a scene where the tech tells Fox that Bruce fixed the autopilot. And if you are joking, I thought that scene was unnecessary and kind of a slap in the face to the audience. If you're too stupid to figure this out on your own, here's a guy telling u exactly what happened.

Just got back from watching it at the IMAX. Was incredible. This might be the first film I watch twice at the cinema (definitely IMAX again. Screw the increased ticket cost. That thing was an experience).

totally agree. id have to wait for the dvd, so i could make my future kids watch it. ;) the movie is a treasure.

Remember the scene in the beginning after the wall street heist where batman is underground chasing bane and his men (where Blake accidentally disables his stun gun)?

Where can I find the music for this part?

It's the track "Risen from Darkness".

Two things:

1. That wasn't blake, that was some klutz who was trying to shoot out their tires.

2. That was an EMP gun, not a stun gun.

Add this to the list of films that must be watched on a 5.1 surround sound home theatre-a simple bluray with built in speakers will not be that enjoyable.

This was by far the best movie (or one of the best) I have been in the last 18 months.

oh-
anne hathaway is my new favorite actress.

I just saw it tonight, and I loved it! I liked Dark Knight more, but not by much. I thought Nolan did try to cram a lot into the film, but this is one film that I would not have mind sitting through if it was a bit over three hours. Its a great way to end the trilogy, but does give us hope for a future. I really hope someone decides to work in some sequels.

I walked out of the cinema both blown away, but also thinking that the first two films had more memorable moments. This one was grand, but nothing was dwelled on for too long.

Did you watch it at the IMAX? If you didn't, go back. I don't think any home cinema of mine will do that film justice.

-------

After hearing the differences between the original trailer (with Bane's more muffled voice) I hope they add a second audio channel to the bluray release with the original voice.

no i didn't see it in imax-maybe i will go back......

I saw it today and really enjoyed it. However, the middle of the film needed to be shorter. It was killing me and I checked the time on my phone several times. The point about Bane could have been made in a shorter amount of time.

That said, a very brilliant end to a great trilogy for the most part. Good job, Mr Nolan.

To those who had issues listening to Bane, take a look at this link I found on Twitter today thanks to PuckDaddy/@wyshynski: http://youtu.be/ShlukoB1xMY

That would've been truly awful to sit through if it was the same recording in the final version. Especially combined with the retarded TDK Batman voice.

To me he sounded like Sean Connery.

That is the first thing my wife said.

I really liked the movie. There were two scenes that didn't sit well with me, but they are so minuet that it doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things.

I liked the ending. Leaves it open for another (even though Nolan said he isn't doing another) but that doesn't mean someone else can't come in and take the reins!

Didn't see it IMAX however the screen we did see it on was huge and the sound was thundering!

Overall a very enjoyable experience.

Are you sure it isn't "Born in Darkness". I can't find a "Risen in Darkness" on the soundtrack. However I am hearing there is an extended soundtrack.

I really hope this is the last one. No one will ever be able to top Nolan's version of Batman.

Anyone surprised at the end, with Bane not being Raz's child Batman was talking about? I had a feeling about Miranda, and I thought it was a nice little twist at the time.
