Yeah, I though that was really well done. I did not see it coming.

I have a sixth sense. No, I dont see dead people, so no need for that joke lol. I hate that I can sit through a movie and pretty much know what is going to happen, and most times, Im right on the money. I had a feeling early on about Miranda, but I was hoping that what I was thinking wasnt the case, but it was. Still, it was a great little oh s$@t moment.

Anyone surprised at the end, with Bane not being Raz's child Batman was talking about? I had a feeling about Miranda, and I thought it was a nice little twist at the time.

Totally got me too, I'm glad I don't know too much about Batman so I didn't see that one coming.

To those who had issues listening to Bane, take a look at this link I found on Twitter today thanks to PuckDaddy/@wyshynski: http://youtu.be/ShlukoB1xMY

That would've been truly awful to sit through if it was the same recording in the final version. Especially combined with the retarded TDK Batman voice.

I hope, but doubt, they'd include it on the bluray release. I'd watch it again just for the original voice (after knowing what he says).

I am going to watch this film so many times when it's released.

I had a chance to re-listen to it at home on full volume (was starting work first time around). The lines in the original recording where you could understand Bane, I prefer. The re-recorded ones are a little lighter tone and kind of comical when you match them to Bane's appearance. The original lines sounded a bit heavier and darker - just also more mumbled or incoherent.

It would be cool if they included it - pull out all the stops on the special features for the last DVD/Blu-ray.

I saw it yesterday in IMAX. It was very good, but it wasn't the best thing ever. I felt that it dragged a bit in the middle.

I don't understand why it was so difficult to escape from that prison. Why didn't the prisoners build some sort of bridge using beds, haul it up to the ledge using the rope, and then lay it across the two ledges and climb out? There weren't any guards, after all.

The way the movie ended- the very last scene- was extremely obvious to me right after Alfred's speech to Bruce about how he vacations there and his dream was for him to see Bruce sitting at another table at that cafe with his family.

When Robin entered the bat cave at the end of the movie, was it the bat cave under Wayne Manor, or was it a different one somewhere else? I wasn't fully sure, as I haven't see the first two movies in a while.

The twist at the end that Bane wasn't the child and Miranda was the evil genius got me. I didn't expect that.

All in all, I enjoyed the movie. I just wish I didn't have to pee for the last 2 hours of it.

***Contains spoilers***

Saw it on an IMAX screen today. Loved it! Not because it was the greatest movie ever made, but because it was the cap to one of the greatest movie trilogies of all time. Probably third behind the original Star Wars and The Lord of the Rings, IMO.

I guessed the Miranda connection as soon as he touched her scar. Still wondering what it was from, but it seemed similar to some of Bane's. The revelation of the Bane backstory was great, just wished it happened a bit earlier in the story and not so close to his encounter with Catwoman's steel. Speaking of Bane, I loved his voice. Thought it was really well done. It was creepy and calm and menacing. Maybe it was because I sat right in front of a rear speaker?

I kept thinking Batman would die and the detective who became Robin would take his place with the help of Alfred. Glad they didn't go there, but it was a great part of the character development that Wayne knew anyone could don the mask. Catwoman's character was so far beyond my expectations and Hataway was awesome! Hot? Sure, but so much more...

Overall, a perfect finish to an unbelievable trilogy. Can't wait to watch all three back to back to back!

Ah yes, I also thought that the scene near the end right before Bane was killed reminded me of this:

I just saw it tonight, and I loved it! I liked Dark Knight more, but not by much. I thought Nolan did try to cram a lot into the film, but this is one film that I would not have mind sitting through if it was a bit over three hours. Its a great way to end the trilogy, but does give us hope for a future. I really hope someone decides to work in some sequels.

I loved it as well. Also I'd LOVE to see the sequel, yet in its own series. The end of this movie was not to introduce Robin like many ppl on the page 1 of this thread where confused at, but to introduce Nightwing (a more mature Robin, just like how Batman became Dark Knight in the comics, a more brutal and ruthless Robin evolved - maybe not even the same person).

What's with all the wank over The Dark Knight? I've always wondered why TDK was so widely praised. Yes, Ledger was great, but other than that, it was the movie equivalent of a monster-of-the-week story. The Dark Knight Rises expands upon, and links heavily to the themes found in Batman Begins, they feel very similar and like they're part of one continuous, epic arc. TDK feels like the odd one out now having seen TDKR.

You are correct in pointing out that in the original comic books Robin went on to become Nightwing, but I think we have to let the movies stand on their own. Nolan gives us no indication that Blake is going to be like the characters of Robin or Nightwing as they are presented in the comics. Nolan created his own take on the Batman legend including things like Alfred being told to leave by Bruce and Batman actually hanging up his cape (retiring). My take away from the character of Drake was that he would become the next Batman as "anyone can be Batman" was a central theme in Nolan's version of the story.

I finally got to see the movie last night. Been waiting since opening night for it and it did not disappoint. Fantastic on all fronts. Though, I was a little disappointed with Bane's voice. Hard to understand at some spots and a little more detail on his situation would have been helpful to the plot.

^^ Same.

I finally watched it last night.

Overall, I do think this fit a lot more with the story of Batman Begins. TDK was more of an action movie than a plot-based one.

Right when Miranda came onto the screen, I knew she wasn't good. But, she sort of gained my trust throughout the movie, then....

Bane's voice definitely had a unique touch to it. I thought it was well done. The speakers weren't the greatest, so I couldn't catch some part of what he was saying, but mostly it was fine.

There were nods to a few other evil characters (Except The Joker?). (Killer Croc, Two-Face, Scarecrow made a return, I don't remember if Penguin was in it..?)

Bane was most definitely a lot bigger in the comics than in the movie, but I guess it's hard to find an 8 foot tall human being...

EDIT: Also, is Robin's name Blake or Drake? It sounded a LOT like Blake in the movie, but some people are saying Drake?

The character in Nolan's film is named Robin John Blake. I think some people are getting confused because in the comic books the third Robin that Batman takes on is named Tim Drake. I myself mistyped it in my last post and had to go back and make a correction.

That is the first thing my wife said.

I really liked the movie. There were two scenes that didn't sit well with me, but they are so minuet that it doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things.

I liked the ending. Leaves it open for another (even though Nolan said he isn't doing another) but that doesn't mean someone else can't come in and take the reins!

Didn't see it IMAX however the screen we did see it on was huge and the sound was thundering!

Overall a very enjoyable experience.

Are you sure it isn't "Born in Darkness". I can't find a "Risen in Darkness" on the soundtrack. However I am hearing there is an extended soundtrack.

I found Risen in Darkness through Amazon's extended edition.
