You said it yourself. It's all about the model. I don't see why this is so hard to understand. Some of them are in shorter supply. You picked a popular model. obviously.

I wanted SG, but it sold out in minutes. So I settled for the green one. And it's coming tomorrow. It's unfair to compare different models when it comes to shipping times. Look at the gold ones, seems like no one (outside of a few celebrities) is getting those until August.

I have a less popular model, 42mm SS black classic buckle. Ive seen several posts where people that ordered several minutes, even hours after me in some cases have been charged and moved to prepared for shipment.

I haven't received no email, no change in status from processing, no charge on my card. Nothing. I ordered the space black stainless steel 42mm along with a white sports band.

I get it that Apple didn't make enough of the SS model but I have seen a lot more people say they got the sport version than the SS model. I guess Apple ramped up production on the sport model these past few weeks and didnt for the SS. Funny thing is I was leaning toward the sport version until I saw it had a 4-6 week estimate. I decided to go with SS milanese because it had 4-24 - 5-8 range. Irony is playing well since the sport version he ordered much later is going to come sooner than the milanese I ordered which judging by the trends I have seen has much less overall demand.

Except for the fact that some who ordered after me with the same SKU have been getting shipment notifications on theirs.

my question is whats the difference between someone who got the Email of Death VS the people that didn't but ordered the same watch and giving the same delivery of 4/24-5/8 when they ordered????

i'm still hoping the email means still hope from friday but Monday is fine too ( i guess) since i ll be off Monday too

And that is exactly what's rustling my jimmies.

The perceived randomness is just mind boggling to me. The only discernible pattern as it affects me or my situation (42mm Space Grey, Black Sport Band, 12:03 A.M. confirmation, shipping to Texas) is that the vast majority of Texas and Oklahoma MacRumors members who've posted are all stuck in processing.

I know I'm overthinking it and getting all X Files about it.

Thats what I was running into, but in other threads Ive seen more Ohio users getting charged and shipping notifications now, but didn't get the email last night. Lame.

The dreaded email of death. 'We're Working on Your Order' [MERGED]

Monday is fine, but that weekend would feel long lol

Why are you so sure that they would if they could?

Because customers get upset if they think they will receive product on Day 1 and they don't, as evidenced by the threads on this forum. Apple wants to sell as many watches as they can, and wants their customers to be happy with their purchases.

I got this email on my 42mm space gray sport. Order confirm email at 12:04am.

I did not get this email for my 42mm white sport that I ordered 2nd via the app. Same 12:04 confirm.

The white charged two days ago and has been sitting as Preparing for Shipment since then.

So I assume the white gets here Friday (or very close to) and the orders getting this letter are later in the 4/24-5/8 window.

Got the tracking# (arrives Friday) for the white sport order and still processing on the email of death order.

38mm SGS not short supply = NO SUPPLY

I got my order in at 12:03am and i got the email of death, so don't think they are anywhere in the USA. In fact, its probably true that no 38mm space grey have made it to the USA at all because not one has even been charged yet, while the UK has gotten some shipped out. I can't believe it if Apple screws us loyal folk who got up at 3 am or interrupted our honeymoon celebratory dinner to order the watch on their iPhones. Don't give me the delivery window excuse either.

The delivery window is so that people who ordered a bit later get theirs a bit later, not that people who ordered ONE SPECIFIC MODEL get screwed up the ass while everyone else gets at least some of theirs shipped out. What a total kick in the nuts, Apple really punched us in the gut on this one. It just shows apple has ABSOLUTELY no idea what it means to be an apple fan any more, and they have totally taken us for granted. Why they chose to screw over one whole sect of people rather than make a bit less 42mm and throw us a bone, I don't know, but Jobs' death has certainly made things worse.

38mm sgs = 38mm SURELY GOT SCREWED

I wanted so bad to throw my Gear S watch across the room and break it against a wall tomorrow but I'm guessing that won't happen. I got the EoD last night and my watch is still processing. I was going to chat with apple but those poor souls know NOTHING. So I emailed Tim Cook lol chances of him or his team replying to my email that just basically asks to confirm the recipients of the EoD are not getting it tomorrow are slim to none. :: DEEP SIGH. :: hope my luck changes and I get it tomorrow.

I've been frickin waiting since September of 2014 to have it in my wrist. What can I do? Yup, you're right! Wait another two frickin weeks. 4/24-5/8

I'm so happy for you who got shipment confirmations # Lol

Sell it don't smash it.

No email for me, but since my original ship date is May 13-27, I wasn't expecting one.

If it's a band shortage issue, they should offer the option of different colors (in the case of the sport band as black seems to be extremely possible). I'd take the blue one if that meant my SG Sport would come sooner.

Wut?

You mean there are people who ordered after 8:20 who are still getting theirs tomorrow!?

Or it means that they ran into an unexpected production issue. Would you rather they ship you a defective watch "on time" or to get the watch you wanted a few days later? There is no way they simply arbitrarily decided to "screw over" buyers of the Space Gray watch.

Guy I work with lives 20 minutes from me. He ordered at 5:36AM est. Same size, model and band as another co-worker that ordered at 3:02AM. Later guy has shipped and the earlier guy hasn't seen squat.

What really is off-setting is when I talked to an apple supervisor earlier and mentioned this he more or less told me (in politically correct terms) that I was full of ***** and that people must be photoshopping and posting updates online. Apple would NEVER let that happen.

At this point, Apple has had 2 nearly two weeks to get a handle on when an order will be delivered. It is ridiculous for them to still have us all in a two week window. This shows that they don't give a $H!t. This is not something I expect from Apple.

Even IF that was the issue, which I seriously doubt, they should have made us aware earlier and given us a different option. Besides, the UK Got some shipped, so unless they got bum watches, it isn't true. Unfortunately your thinking is flawed, though. My whole point is that they DEFINITELY would screw over people who ordered some of the least popular models in favor of making more of the more popular ones. It's actually not that far-fetched. They think there isn't enough of us to make any kind of significant noise.

My guess is that the space gray Sport is one of the MORE popular models. It apparently is one of the more popular MacBook models, for instance (though the gold is the most popular). I'm sure you'll get it before May 8. If May 8 comes and goes then you have a legitimate gripe. Until I got the Preparing for Shipment update, I was fully prepared to wait until May 8 for mine.

Let's think about this further. What if there were an unexpected production issue that sent the space gray defect rates soaring? Do you stop production entirely until you sort it out, or do you crank out more of the other watches so that you catch up with your overall backlog?

I'm going to guess that the people who didn't get the email and are still processing will ship out today. As for everyone who did get that email? I guess we get to watch (no pun intended) everyone enjoy their new watches. :(

For me, I'm not expecting mine until the 8th simply because I got a 12:04AM email time and that seems to be almost when dates started slipping for the 42mm Space Gray Sport.

It could also be the other way around, people who did receive the email will get it tomorrow.

Unfortunately, I received 2 of the emails this morning -

1) AW SS 42mm with Black Sports Band
2) AW Sports SG 42mm with Black Sports Band
