Email of death

Has anyone receiving the 'Email of Death' experienced a status change from processing? Or any signs of life at all on their orders?

38MM SG, still processing, ordered 37 seconds into preorder.

I got the email - no changes. Ordered 38mm SG Sport at :04am and it has been in processing ever since. No charges to my credit card either.

This is less transparent and reeks of uncertainty. Are the production yields this low and variable?

If they could, they would. I'm sure they are sending them out as fast as they can. For the record I'm getting one tomorrow but am in the June window for one that's a gift.

Because they have open orders that still need to be filled. I can check the order status online, why waste time sending this if the product is in hand and we have evidence of product IN HAND and SHIPPING OUT?

It's really simple dude. I and a number of others just didn't get the golden ticket. Nice to see those f*cks in euroland getting a chance to line up in front of selfridges for some of the 300-1000 that they last-minute routed there.

Just spoke with Apple about my order on chat and they do admit that only people in "Processing" got the email of death. They just want to keep us updated he said. He said it is still possible it could charge and ship today but I could tell that he wasn't very confident in that. To all who received the email, including myself I feel your pain. To all of you ace holes who are getting the watch tomorrow kiss my ace.

This email basically says it is still possible to get it on launch day but it probably isn't going to happen for you. I will now print the email and wear it like a scarlet letter. It is Apple's way of saying I didn't make the cut. lol

Who knows what it means. I just doesn't provide any information except to believe that it's a bandage email to make you feel taken care of. I'd say the people who haven't received the email are slated to receive updates/charges this afternoon.

I just went and told guy that I work with about me getting the email of death. He ordered one too at noon central time on the 10th (10 hours after it went on sale!) He did not want his on launch day and just wanted to get a place in line. His estimate is June. So I told him about the email and that I more than likely wouldn't be getting it tomorrow so he decided to check his. GUESS WHAT! His is PREPARING FOR "F"ING SHIPMENT! We did order different models but if he can order one and get a June estimate and get it on launch then why can't they fulfill the ones with the 1st wave range!?!?! I wasn't pissed but now I am a bit that I am seeing this first hand with him getting one on launch day!

Ya but the Space Grey is only available in one option... why would that be so hard to stock? The aluminum ones just have different colored bands, so unless it's an issue with the black bands only then that is kind of ridiculous.

As for me, my life will suck doubly hard tomorrow when I go to UPS and me and my employees see all the Apple boxes whizzing by on the belt and I'll know that absolutely NONE of them are mine. Worse is that my hub actually delivers to my house and my box won't be in the bunch.

Am I wrong on this? Nothing would make me happier than to be wrong, but I just can't see it happening.

It doesn't track for me that I'll migrate at light speed out of processing to goodies in hand in under 24 hours when some people have gotten charged, we're working on it etc etc and that's taken days. Actually I am in the same boat...and I peg our odds at 50% chance we get it tomorrow...We are all choosing to see the glass half empty...There is only One band for the Spacy Grey, meaning apple knows to produce at least 5-6X this version vs all other sport watches. It could easily be that they are all sitting in warehouse and are the final watch type to ship. Processing to shipped can happen in a matter of 1 hour. This is based on my history of orders with Apple, which has the most efficient supply chain setup in the world

That's Apple for you. They'll make innovative products and thinner devices but they can't figure out how to put people in an order queue properly. For all the hype they did for almost a year and all the money spent they certainly failed big time on the customer service aspect of things. Guess it really is all about dollar signs with these guys and not about the hand that feeds them. Wouldn't have happened 6 years ago, but now they really don't care about customers.

You said it yourself. It's all about the model. I don't see why this is so hard to understand. Some of them are in shorter supply. You picked a popular model. obviously.

I wanted SG, but it sold out in minutes. So I settled for the green one. And it's coming tomorrow. It's unfair to compare different models when it comes to shipping times. Look at the gold ones, seems like no one (outside of a few celebrities) is getting those until August.

I was on chat yesterday prior to receiving the letter and all they said was "everything with the order was ok and still scheduled for delivery 4/24 -5/08"......... No $&@! Sherlock.
