Sure it is fine to be an optimist and want it on Friday. It is always natural to want something and be a part of the fanaticism on the first day people get them.

But the fact is Apple never promised delivery by Friday from the very beginning. The greater fact that they could not promise a Friday delivery has been a bigger issue which has long been talked about related to fact that you also won't be able to buy one in a store on Friday.

This launch is complicated, and supply is clearly constrained in some areas.

Personally I am just happy that I am going to get mine on or before May 8th. That is all I can really ask for based on the expectations that were set by Apple when I placed my order. That is basically the only "guarantee" that I have got from Apple as a customer.

Sometimes it sucks to be a highly demanding customer who is heavily invested in a company's products, but life is too short to be pissed off. Enjoy the fact that they actually made a product you want, and that you will get it someday soon.

A few days is better than the months we have been waiting already.

And this is all worst case. Best case is we all get them on Friday and hurray new shiny thing.

Apple email says working on my order lol. Nevermind lots of posts on this

The email is clearly designed to let people know who aren't going to get their watches on Friday that they will get them soon.

I have yet to receive this so called "email of death." This could be a good or bad thing?

Debit card charged and status changed to "Preparing for Shipment" on Monday around 4:30 PM Est.

I received the email and I am still processing. I believe most that received the email are still stuck at processing. But I would also like to know if anyone has got the email and is preparing for shipment...
 
I haven't gotten the EOD.

Then again was charged and order status is PFS

I also have my watch on my support page and received my invoice earlier today

Fingers crossed.

JESUS AND A GOAT, PEOPLE, CALM DOWN! This looks more to me like Apple's way of reminding us that your order status doesn't mean much in terms of when you're going to get it. Also, they spent a lot of time in the email reminding you to watch guided tours and update your iOS, so it could be because of that as well.

Also, if your watch doesn't come Friday, that doesn't mean you're getting it May 8 either. :)
 
I'm guessing this is for those who are still in processing and not charged.
 
Order still processing, email not received. Hoping to wake up to a good email tomorrow.

I got it too and I tracked a plane from Ak headed to Memphis right now. I'm guessing we are in the wave that will get our watches from Fedex. That is probably why there has been no charge on my Amex yet. I've seen it before where I'm charged day before and received my phone later the next day in the past. Try not to worry folks...:cool: 42 mm SS with Milanese loop/ confirmation 2:05am...
