The dreaded email of death. 'We're Working on Your Order' [MERGED]

Got the email. 42mm SS Black Sport Band. Confirmation X:05 - still processing. Thanks for everyone else posting their info so I don't feel like I'm the only one going crazy. 
What the heck is wrong with you guys? This e-mail states NOTHING NEW about your order. It's the same date range that's in your Order Status page. I'm waiting for my e-mail and haven't got it yet. It also says to check out the videos on Guided Tours.

Fine. I get it that we are not supposed to have just assumed that we are getting it on Friday because hey! - they gave us a two week date range. That is still nonsense as the date range included this Friday so it is not like they said "May 8th or maybe sooner." Then I get this email of death at 11pm on the Wednesday when I hoped to be getting an update.
I am now officially annoyed at this whole launch. I am tired of seeing celebrities sporting their custom watches while we are all left to try to figure out the patterns emerging from the Apple order system.
Yes I am whining. Yes we are all stupid. But so what. This no longer feels like earlier Apple product introductions and I am seriously beginning to wonder if this may finally be the "jump the shark" moment for Apple.
4-6 weeks, SS 42mm Milanese loop. No email. Still processing. I've seen one other person with the same order get 'preparing for shipment', so I can't loose all hope yet.
I ordered 38mm SS milanese and I'm at "preparing for shipment" and have not received the email. Let's keep the good vibes rolling
What S!&* is this??? I did't get up at 3 am to receive the email of death!!! And don't give me that "there is a window" crap, people with May and June delivery dates (some who obviously ordered in the morning) are getting their watches on launch and we are getting screwed over BIG TIME!
No email. Of course I am a June date. So I would expect them to not send me nothing for a while. So that email maybe for ppl who were expected to get theirs soon.

Yes, the online Apple Store is the only place where you can buy a watch a this moment. You go to Apple.com, click "Store" and there you are in the Apple Store. Angela said the watches would not be available in the Apple retail stores at launch. A subtle, but important difference.
I received the email in question...ordered 42mm Sport with Pink band, confirmation email received at 0:06 on 4/10, current status is Processing
Didn't get that email (PHEW!!!) And I ordered an Watch Sport 42mm Silver with White Band, 12:05-12:06. Got my card charged 2 or 3 days ago (still pending) and my order is in "Preparing for Shipment" stage. Haven't received a shipment email with the tracking number yet either. Crossing my fingers for a 24th delivery!

Do we even know it's email of death? The email does say 4/24-5/8. Maybe everyone will get this email eventually as it trickles out. Not sure why people are freaking out about this. Unless there's something I missed?

I do agree though that by now we should have a more precise window. I don't like the fact I would have to wait after friday but would be over it in a few minutes if I knew what day it was coming. I live in AZ and had the watches shipped to CA since I'm going to be there this weekend, and now I'm thinking I'll be back in AZ when they finally come.

I agree this doesn't look like a good sign, especially if the only people that received it are currently "processing".
Is there a chance they sent this out due to the amount of customers contacting customer support who can't provide us with definitive answers?
