120 in my Mazda3, that's when I discovered the darn thing has some sort of governor on it that maxes out at 120. Why tease me with a speedometer that goes up to 150???? bleh:p

i posted my top speed, so not being of the shy variety i thought i would post a pic of my baby :D

I was driving my dad's grand cherokee and I think I went like 80. I don't see why anyone needs to go faster than that, but whatever. That v8 can crank out like 120 easy though.

135mph-ish...It was late at night on the 5 freeway. ZOOM! I was scared ******** when a turn came up. I Actually managed to stay in lane i was in, which was the far left one. Scary scary scary. Oh, it was in my dads 2001 BMW 5-Series.

about 110ish in my ES330, my dad thinks its fast, but i think its alright... the 0-60 is about 7 seconds.... i want the new IS 350:D

Sense Im 14, never faster than 5 mph!

I've only driven the car down the driveway cause I had the mow the lawn and one time when I mowed the lawn w/o moving the car a rock broke the windsheild. oops!

The fastest I've been in a car on public roads was a 2003 Lexus LS430 at about 140, and that was pretty scary.
did u take off the governor thing on it... my ES stops i think at 120 due to the governor

180km/h on a 50km/h road dodging traffic left and right in my 5-Series. That was fun.

around 100 mph (or 160 kilometers per hour) in a BMW M3. good times. i miss that car.

p.s. there are some insane numbers in this thread. crickey!

The fastest I've driven is 110 mph in a Ford Aspire. I didn't think that my car could go that fast.

• 195mph on the A9 between Inverness & Perth, Scotland, UK

• 170mph on the 101 just south of Santa Barbara, CA, USA

• 210mph+ driving south to Alice Springs from Darwin, North Territory, Oz

• 190mph on the M25 orbital, M1, and M6, on a marathon drive from Reading to get to work on time in Stirling, Scotland, after a U2 gig on a sunday night...

the two UK ones were on empty roads (A9 clears during the middle of the day, M25 quiet at 2.20am!). the 101 wasn't busy but when you've got a 600bhp Mustang from your uncle you HAVE to drive it fast. and in Oz, well, it's illegal not to try getting to the top speed when you have a road 1000+ miles long, straight, perfect tarmac, no other cars on the road!

i've not done any speeding for 10 months now, just because i think i've worked it out of my system!

bigandy, what cars did you do those in other than the mustang?

also, i bet you didnt do those speeds on the m25 around by Heathrow with all of those cameras!

30MPH with my Dad taking me out to drive for my first time. That was a year ago and I don't even have my permit now.:D

along M4 - M25 - M1... it's all clear north of heathrow.

out in Oz it was in a quite stunning Saleen S7, and over here in Britain, they were both in my boss' Aston Martin Vanquish.. which i never wanted to give back to him... sometime soon i better own one

i've been caught once for speeding - and that was doing 75mph (the limit on the road, for vans, was 60mph) up a hill in a friend's van, of all things, while helping him move up to uni. grr.

Used to drive 120+ on the highway in my 95 Maxima. Speed limiter kicks in aroubd 118 I think, but after a while I took that off.

yeah, well I once went 30km/h on my bicycle  :D

Weak...I got my Specialized Hard Rock up to 41mph. That was pointing downhill though...

141 mph in a '96 VW GTI VR6

107 mph in an Impala rental. The digital readout told me, "electronically limited to 107 mph -- playtime's over, kids..."

What's the deal with those damned governors anyway?
