143mph in my dad's Audi RS4 Cabriolet with the roof down while showing off to my girlfriend. I was 17 and stupid; had only passed my driving test a few months before. I don't drive faster than 85-90mph now, and even then, that would only be if the roads were clear.

Hey, um, where do you live? What road is that? I NEED to move there... :D;)

I live in New York, where you are first eligible for a permit at age 16 (I'm 16 and got it a week after my bday) and must wait until age 18 for your license unless you take a defensive driving course (which I am doing) and by doing that you get one at age 17. And with a leaners permit, I can't drive in any of the 5 boroughs of New York City without car equipped with dual brakes, which means my dad can't legally take me driving on the street, but we do anyway, almost no one follows that rule.

I heard in some midwest states you can get your license at 14..
I live in Texas...you can get your permit at 15, restricted license at 16 (No more then one friend in the car, can only drive between 6 AM and 12 AM) and full license six months after that. If there's one thing I like about this state, it's the fairly lax driving laws. :D

pssh, i still think its strange texas has speed limits for night and speed limits for day lol

135 mph in a friends 2005 Mustang GT with traffic on the road at 8 pm, that was some scary stuff. Not because of speed but because of the weaving at that speed.

Fastest I have driven 114 mph in my 2000 Acura Integra.

Nice Engrish there...
Great, I forgot the word 'a' (I meant to write was that in a car instead of was that in car, making me sound retarded, which I'm not), moving on...

All i have to say is: nice

Yeah, it's 80 MPH on a (I believe) 500 mile stretch of I-10 in west Texas. :D
*moves to west Texas near the I-10*
Although, I got some nice roads up in my alley too :p
The Long Island Expressway out east, has no cars on it from late at night to early morning, and it's completely straight, and me + clear road = you know what :). I seriously cannot wait until I have my license.

I heard driving is terrible in LA. Sure the backroads in the mountains are nice, but the highways are filled with slow drivers who don't know what their doing...

whoever told you that, knows well.:p:cool:

you have slow drivers that drive in the fast lane...

and on average I put a good 24 inches of distance from the person infront of

me when i'm on a freeway.....

I like to scare them with my bumper.:D

i was driving up to L.A once with my parents and we hit sudden traffic. A civic behind us slammed on its brakes and was gunna hit us hard. Somehow he managed to avoid us ( thank god for breakdown lanes). That was really scary and now im back in New England :( atleast the drivers here are O.K.
