I wanted to go naked but I just couldn’t. I got the Caudabe liquid crystal case. It’s the first Caudabe case I’ve ever used and I love it. It’s a clear hard case that adds virtually no bulk at all and feels as close to what a naked phone could feel like.

I always use a sleeve, best of both worlds, glorious nakedness while using and protected in my pocket :)

I’m a sleeve guy too! I agree that it gives you the best of both worlds. When the phone is out of the sleeve and on a table, I lay the phone on top of the sleeve.
It goes back in the sleeve and in my pocket when I’m on the go...

I love the heft to it and added thickness. Granted it's just grams and a few MMs, but it was noticeable out the the box.

My balls must have been 100 lbs today bc i had a phone call while riding my bike and dug it out of my pockets and answered it and talked on it....all while riding naked *the phone.*

Yeah I think I need a case....

I always use a case, couldn't go naked with this one if you really wanted to. It runs pretty hot compared to previous devices in my testing so far.

Caudabe Lucid Clear case. Still get protection but you hardly notice the case and get to enjoy it's beauty :). Win-win

You are the best for this nugget of info! I just ordered one. Was contemplating going naked because none of the clear cases I’ve seen so far were thin and clear enough. Even got 20% off the Cuadabe.

I really want to use it without the case but I’m too chicken! If something happens I can’t forgive myself.
I had my iPhone 6s Plus for 2 years and then got the X. The plus is in mint condition. :D

Agreed. I can’t stand cases or screen protectors. I leave all of my phones naked, and this one has the best feel, by far. It’s got a nice clean feel, and the heavier weight is great. My iPhone 7 now feels light and cheap.

See I’d go caseless too, if I had an X. But aren’t Apple charging like £560 for replacement glass?

Although the 8 and X are very grippy phones. I don’t think I’d drop them, having never dropped an iPhone before.

A naked iPhone X is pure joy.

Feels phenomenal in terms of ergonomics and overall build quality. The overall build and design is the best thing Apple has done since the iPhone 4/4S.

I think it’s well above in fit and finish. One thing I never liked about the 4’s design was the glass sticking out of the frame like it did. Would of been much better inside all of the frame like the 5’s.
Still the 5’s glass wasn’t completely flush Had a little bump to it.

I went away for the weekend just after getting my phone on Friday, and I had a thin Spigen case on all weekend because I was a little paranoid about dropping it as I was gallivanting around Orlando.

Now that I’m on my way home, I’ve taken off the case and am loving how it feels in hand. It’s so much more grippy (to me anyway) than my 7 Plus was, and also fits better in my hand ergonomically, so I’m much less worried about dropping it than I ever was with the old phone.

Not sure ive really seen anybody talk about this yet but the feel of this phone is different than anything ive used before.
One word to describe it is buttery smooth. The glass and stainless steel just feel way different than past iPhones. Almost feels soft in a way even though I know they are hard materials.
I do plan on running the X naked just like the all of my last ones going back to the 4.
My 3g was the only phone I had in a case.

When I felt the phone naked at the Apple store, it was buttery smooth.. likely from the oil from everyone's hands...

I don't have a case -- I stopped using cases a few years back. What's funny to me is watching other people holding my phone with no case on it, they get so nervous! Good thing is they give it back quickly because of it too :)

No one here is saying that going caseless is for everyone, why do you feel the need to decide that all of us need a case?

I’ve had every iPhone since the 3G, and only used a case for one. I also hardly ever buy AppleCare Plus, though this time I will.

Do you want to know how often I’ve needed a repair or replacement that was due to user error or mistreatment?

Zero.

Most of us aren’t reckless or stupid, and definitely not looking to add to the cost of owning an iPhone.

This phone is made of glass, and repairing this glass cost 600 eur. It's quite a difference vs. a 200 eur repair in case you destroy the aluminum chassis. Oh wait...nobody destroys an aluminum chassis.

I don't pretend to decide for everybody, i pretend to say that if someone considers inconvenient spending 600 eur to repair his iphone, then this someone needs a case.

Or you could just be careful with your phone. In the 7 years I’ve owned iPhones, I’ve never damaged a single one, that includes the last 4 years of going caseless.

Or you could just buy insurance.

This is glass, not aluminum, do you get it?

The iPhone 4 and 4S were glass front and back and the 5, 5S and SE also had glass on the top and bottom of the back. This is not the first glass iPhone. Some people are more clumsy than others and some people are in situations where they are more likely to drop it. Many people on the other hand aren't.

Only my female friends wear cases, all my male friends do not have a case on their iPhones. Putting a case on your iPhone takes away so much of the experience (it will feel cheap, it will be bigger in all dimensions, swipe gestures are less smooth due to the ridges, etc). But I understand that some people really need a case, however many don't.

I’ve done it with almost every IPhone but idk man, the price tag on this phone scares me. I have a thin “scratch” protection style case on this but I’m contemplating getting something a little thicker. I HATE cases so it’s tough lol
I'm right here with you. Typically go without a case. This phone scares me. I have a thin Tozo shell right now. May head over to Apple and snag a silicone or leather case for a little more protection.

I use a sleeve to keep my phone protected while its in my pocket or in a bag, but otherwise its naked. Am I the only one in that boat?
I'd like to try a sleeve that acts to protect the phone and also works as a wallet. I carry a front wallet anyway, so I'd be willing to try a combo - sleeve/wallet.

I'm using this one:

It can't hold nearly as much as a regular wallet but it can definitely hold several cards and some cash. Highly recommended, I've been using Dockem sleeves for years.

And your point is? Look after your phone and/or buy insurance if you don’t want to use a case. If you can’t look after your phone or you don’t want insurance, use a case. It’s really not that difficult.

And the 4/4s and 5/5s all had full/part glass backs. I never damaged any of them. Same as I’ve never damaged any screens.

Here's a case for only $4.97 from amazon.com. I have amazon prime so I ordered it Saturday night and it arrived Monday. I'm extremely pleased with it! Has accurate cut outs and is thinner than the spigen cases, so it shows off the beauty of the iPhone X.

Edit: Just increased in price to $5.97!
