Mines is actually better than i expected. I wanna see how it holds up playing around with Apps like TTR2 and such.

Mine drops 1-2% every few minutes. I've had it since around 11:00AM this morning and it's down to 35%. I haven't been doing a whole lot more than testing the new camera and sending SMS.

Usage shows 1 hour, 57 minutes and 6 hours, 42 minutes of Standby.

We'll see how things go after it's first recharge here at home. Tomorrow will really tell the story.

showed up at the ATT store around 730. pretty much about 10 people there and only a few were actually getting the phones. so they let us in early way before the actual store opened
killer

S is for Speed

Very fast compared to old 3G. Disappointed that my media files didn't get put on the new 3Gs when I restored. I do manually manage music and videos, and I'm not sure if that was the reason.
Had to re-enter many passwords (wi-fi and apps), but luckily I remembered (most) of them.
The 3G here in northern NJ seems faster, but it's probably the phone itself that is making the experience less painfully slow.
My phone was "live" by the time I got in the car this morning (around 7:35am). The experience at the Tice's Corner Apple Store in Woodcliff Lake, NJ was near perfect. Organized, pleasant and professional. Very good job.

I had to try Japanese voice control (I know a little Japanese), and found it could understand Japanese artists' names! Here's mine with the Japanese voice control screen. It's a half-second exposure, so the passing words got blurred.

Just got home with mine. Walked into the apple store at around 1:30pm, said i want to get a new 3GS and boom in and out. I noticed apps are launching faster and i really like the camera focus feature it has.

Without ANY doubt, one of my favorite things about the 3GS is how you can have a large number (I tested seven) of web pages open, and switch between them WITHOUT the phone having to reload them because it ran out of RAM. That is super awesome. I tested really graphic-intensive pages like www.ign.com, www.engadget.com, www.amazon.com (PC site) etc. You can switch back and forth between the sites with EASE, whereas my iPhone 3G would have to re-load an entire page even with just two websites open! And that doesn't even touch on the scrolling around web pages is infinitely faster on the 3GS - very little checkerboard pattern ever appears. Love it.

There's no question in my mind that the 3G to 3GS is a much bigger upgrade than the iPhone to iPhone 3G.

Just got mine and wow, apps are opening MUCH faster. Of course I'm upgrading from the first generation iPhone (when it first first came out), so I'm not sure how it compares to the 3G. But I gotta say, I'm very pleased with the upgrade so far.

I turned on the Voice Control...
and asked the phone to "Beam Me Up".

Response from the phone: "Genius not available".

Video and picture quality is outstanding for a phone and impressive in general.

Ipod, safari, and all the other apps I've used are awesome.

No cracks, no light leaks. Buttons click when I use them.

Bezel which meets the back side of the phone has a slight lip. The 3G, from my slight experience using other people's, felt smother.

The finger print resistant screen seems bogus to me. I have finger prints everywhere on the screen. I'm waiting for my screen sheild and rebel to arrive on Monday.

Great phone overall. Happy I went with apple this time instead of windows mobile.

Yeah not seeing this oleophobic screen nonsense either. Seems to be identical to my iPhone 3G.

+1 i am very pleased as well....:D

Mine arrived from UPS just before 10AM PDT...had to wait until 12:30 lunctime to go play though. :-/

I got everything restored from my old 3G phone failry quickly and quite frankly I'm stunned by how much snappier this is than the 3G.

Very pleasant ugrade from 16GB 3G -> 32GB 3GS..now what to do with the extra space? :D

I'm transfering 25 gigs of music. Can I upgrade to a 64 gig model please?:D

Actually I find it to be much better and way easier to clean. With this new screen I don't need the anti-glare/smudge protector. I just wish the case had the black bezel to look different from the 3G. I don't like the chrome. Otherwise very smooth transition.

Much faster than my 3G that it replaced, im happy I went for the upgrade!
I put a couple videos online on my blog check them out if you want to see the video quality

I think it was this thread where someone said their 3GS home button is a lighter shade than the surrounding glass. I just took mine outside and in the sunlight it looks like my home button is kind of blue, doesn't match at all.

How does something like that happen to a part that hasn't changed since 2007?

very nice, upgraded from a SE 850i.
the only downside is going to a more rubbish camera and video - and no flash.

but hey, i value the rest of it way more, i'd never have shelled out the money i have today for any other mobile.

I swear if this thing doesn't start playing ball that's it with me and Iphone. It keeps shutting apps down - and these are the standard things like camera. Tried to video then click through to the camera roll to view it - doesn't want to know.

What am I doing wrong?

you got a 3Gs?

and is this your first iPhone?

MY FIRST IMPRESSIONS.

Video- Amazing

Speed- Amazing overall

Web Surfing- Amazing- tested on wifi

Playing games- I've got over 10 3d Games, all of them are VASTLY IMPROVED, HUGE DIFFERENCE, i'm talking not a single frame skip. One such games Glyder was a HUGE Lag fest on the 3G and now it plays like a champ. I feel like im playing on a DS where the games are perfectly built for the system itself. Games load fast, and play fast with no slow down. it's AMAZING i love it.

Compass. Ive been seeing a lot of people having problems. Im not having a single problem and it works wonderfully. I even tested it in google maps, and the MAP turned when i turned my body... Awesome

Walked into the ATT store at 1:30pm and got one today. Much faster than the 3G. Love it!

First impressions, from the iPhone 2G:

- Miss the bluer screen
- Kinda appreciated the recessed Home button
- Liked the smaller form factor + metal body of my old phone

I'm having issues activating the phone, so not really sure what to expect from 3G. I am kinda second-guessing myself, but my old iPhone was cracked, so I pretty much needed to upgrade.
