This entire thread is very, very similar to the iPhone 5 thread two years ago (it's still available here, so check it out). A lot of angst, worry, anger, etc. I was right in there, too, worrying with everyone else. At the end of the day we all got our phones as promised, so don't despair. You WILL get you phones on 9/19 as promised, even if your order is still processing. When the 5 came out it was Tuesday before mine changed over to "preparing for shipping". Deep breaths, everyone. Friday is almost here. :):apple:

Yeah, you're right... but it just made me nervous that my status actually regressed (and I received a weird cancellation e-mail from Verizon.) I just spoke to a guy at Apple support, and even though he sounded a bit stoned, he said that nothing looked unusual about my order and couldn't verify that the status changed from processing to preparing for shipping. Ah, well. Maybe it will switch back!

The main problem here is Apple has no policy on orders any company that is smart should know that when something as popluer as the iphone gets ordered their needs to be a policy that stops everyone from buying more then 1 within 7-30 days time.

Not only that but if they are really as backed up as they say then stop taking new orders until your cought up this includes instore sales.

yup me and i ordered 5 minutes after they went for sale.. fu*k

me too!! it is fu*king crazy

Yep, I was charged 40 minutes after my order at 3:40 AM EDT Friday. Charged in full, not an auth or $1.00. So... Who knows what the process is. I do have an order now 'preparing' but it sure was 'processing' at 4:20 AM Friday! :)

I had a hold for the full amount on my card as soon as I ordered (not $1), but nothing has been posted as of yet. Just because it's more than $1 doesn't mean it isn't just an authorization.

Because this has been the worse release of any apple product ever.....
from the keynote to the pre orders....

The keynote was a cluster****, I'll give you that.

What is wrong the pre-order? The phone hasn't even gone on sale yet.. You have no idea if they'll miss their delivery target and you're already complaining about being unprepared.

My only issue with the whole preorder was the Apple site being down for hours. I think that the Apple Store App should have also been down. It was a little unfair for some who had no idea or intention about placing an order from their phone,iPad,etc. The Apple App was so glitchy that people were placing random orders for configurations that they didn't want to buy but were scared to not receive on launch.
