The "I just bought/ordered/shipped/received my new iPhone 6/6 Plus" thread

My Silver 64GB + has departed and says UPS Worldwide Express Saver, the Space Gray 64GB + says UPS Next Day Saver, I wonder if the Space Gray is shipping from somewhere in the US like some people have reported. Space Gray shows week 37 production.
 
I'll share my strange story (sorry so long!). Skip to the second to last paragraph if you want to see the delivery info. Ok well I'll just say it here and then you can read the story if you want to know my own little "I'm in Hell" story. They say it'll be delivered between Oct. 2nd and 7th.

Midnight on the dot of the 12th: apple site down. I wait about 3-5 minutes then start feeling panicky so call Apple. Takes a while but I do get through and I start to put in my order for a 6+ 64 gb in gold. Toward the end of the process I confirm that I want to renew my 2-year contract with Verizon. She asks what my "billing password" for Verizon is. I thought she meant the password I use when I go online to do my billing (pay my bills) so I gave that to her. She said it wasn't working. I told her again, she did it again, still not working. But I know it's my password. I start to second-guess myself and I give her a different variation on that theme but now I've been frozen out cause I she did it too many times so now I have to call back in a WHOLE HOUR! WTH! She gives me her name and number and I hang up and try calling Verizon. That's how I found out that the password is really Verizon's 4-digit pin number.

I call back after it's been an hour but I can't reach her of course. I call and I call but can't reach her. I call apple, can't get apple. I eventually get her. It's been longer than an hour now. She has to start all over, which she does. At the end of the process she's about to ask me for my 4-digit password but then she tells me Verizon's site has just now crashed. OMG no way. So luckily she offers me the reservation number even though now it's about 2 in the morning or later. She says it'll be good for 24 hours.

I get the confirmation email stating I have a reservation # but it says I have until the morning of the 14th before I lose it which is better news. Says to wait for the following email which will show me how to proceed. The next morning (really the same morning, after sleeping a few hours) I see I have the second email. So I open up the page I'm linked to and paste in the reservation #. It tells me: "We're sorry. We can't find your reservation." W...T...H...
SOoooooo... I keep trying all methods as well as refresh about a thousand times over the next 1.5 days as well as call and talk to various apple reps about a thousand times as well as get transferred around to various departments about a thousand times (as well as almost get divorced by my husband - and kids - about a thousand times!) and then finally I start becoming less understanding and start basically demanding reps' names and extension numbers etc. Not in a mean way but I just wanted them to know I was creating a trail. I've now repeated my story over and over and over again (at that point in time) and no one knows why it's not working. Eventually after complaining about how unfair it is that there's no live supervisor in the call center, someone has a heart and transfers me to a managing department. From there I began to get better help, although still they didn't know why it wasn't working. Finally after being handed off to 2 more managers over a period of however many hours and shifts ending etc, I got an AWESOME guy named Neil who went through the whole story with me again and tried a bunch of stuff (again) and then finally had the BRAINS to wonder if the original sales rep may have mixed up a couple of the numbers in the last 4 digits of my social security number. He switched the two first numbers around that the rep had originally typed in. TADA! THAT WAS IT! She'd accidentally reversed two of the numbers!

Neil and I were both doing happy dances and I was about to fly him out for dinner with the family when suddenly the system crashed again! It basically started by saying "welcome back" (which was the furthest I'd ever gotten and pretty exciting I must say!) and then when you got to the next step it said "safari couldn't find the page" or something like that. Then when I went back to the last page it said "that page cannot be found" or something to that effect. This happened each time - to him as well when he tried it on his end. We were beginning to discuss alternatives (e.g. if things got much worse he was going to try to order me a new one and push it through with the higher powers that be, if possible, with no guarantees) when Neil tried one last time and on his end, it finally went through. PRAISE THE LORD (yeah I know, first world problem). So, I finally officially pre-ordered. Whew! The scheduled delivery time based on when I originally got the reservation #put in by the first lady, put me at a date of between Oct. 2nd - 7th, a.k.a. "seven to ten business days." And that was still the case. That's the latest I know. Neil said they often arrive on the earlier side, so I may see it closer to the 2nd. WE. SHALL. SEE. :rolleyes:

Oh and Neil was kind enough to throw in both a non-apple brand car charger and an extra wall charger (I told him I wanted to add them to my order before we were done, and assumed I'd have to pay for it) stating that it was the least he could do considering all I'd gone through. Value of $50.00. I guess I could have attempted to ask for more but I was too tired to deal with another thing. I want a heavier-duty phone case so I wouldn't have really wanted/needed the leather cases they're offering which do sound nice (were I not so worried about the 6+ phones being at risk of warping when in pockets! That happened to my son's ipod touch - just from being kept in a fanny pack during one plane ride. So I'm hoping to find a case that's hard and non-flexible to lessen the chances of actual phone bending a bit since the new ones are so thin)!

ok, since I preordered the phone on Friday I have had the amount owing show up on my card statement under "authorized transactions". then today it disappeared from there but never moved to posted transactions.... but on my card statement it shows (under available credit left) that I have been charged for the phone.

anyone know whats going on?
still shows preparing for shipping 19/9-23/9
no tracking through reference available
 
I just don't understand. Am I doing something wrong? My iPhone has shown on Apple as being preparing for shipment for two days and is schedule for the 19th. My card is charged. The phone shows up in my support profile. Every time I go to UPS and select reference, then enter in my number and information, I get nothing. The number is the same one apple has on file as well as AT&T.

How are you guys entering it in? 1, then the number, or just the number? All the number together? i've tried it multiple was and I get nothing.

logistically, if an iPhone is in china, it would need to begin to move by Tuesday evening latest as even though they are around 12 hours ahead, they lose the time and them some in travel - Apple always gets the iPhone's to US before launch on Friday as they are sent to hubs to be delivered either by another flight or driving....so I would assume if no tracking by tomorrow then the iPhone would already be in US....

For the iPhone 5, many people didn't get tracking numbers until Friday and by then the phones were already out for delivery (at least those that ordered through AT&T). I couldn't even look mine up by reference number. So its possible.

Also, while what you say is generally true, they aren't actually scanning every phone individually. They are likely just jamming the tracking numbers through in a spreadsheet or something. Last year my phone (ordered from Apple) had almost touched down in Alaska before it was logged as having departed Guanzhou. My wife's phone had about 5 entries suddenly show up at once when the phone hit the distribution center. My phone didn't even hit my regional hub in the Northeast until almost noon but it was at my door by 5 pm.
 
A little off topic but has anyone tried this because I swear I've been through 4 lightning cords with just my iPhone 5s and I can't even remember how many with my 5.

I have one, albeit in silver :) it's a nice little dock, have it plugged into a AV amp, and have a Sony alarm clock DAB radio dock for the main charging and alarm duty. Should work fine with the iPhone 6 and Plus, it has some movement in the connector area to take into account of a different sized phone or iPod touch.

Mine still says Preparing for Shipment: Delivery 9/19 as well. When I opened a UPS My Choice account the iPhone showed up with a tracking number. Mine is in TN and has not yet moved.

Sounds like Apple stole your money and you're not getting an iPhone. Sucks.

But in reality, you were charged and your phone is coming in the release window they told you.

Some will see where I come from and will wonder how I purchased it, right?
PO Box purchase service. We can buy almost anything thru that kind of business, 100% secure and if something screws up they return your money since it has been insured.

So next week I probably will be the first one to have an iPhone 6 in my country!! (Panamá)
 
Tried order Apple.com and the Apple Store App with no luck from 12:01am until about 12:30am with no luck. I even tried going through ATT, but that site was worse that Apple.com. I had to be at work at 5am so my energy was wearing thin. I closed my MacBook and iPad ad was ready to give up and just wait in line at the Apple Store on the 19th. Got in bed and decided to try the Apple Store App on my iPhone. Didn't work at first, but then worked smoothly. Took about 2min to order my iPhone 6 Plus/64GB/Space Grey and slept happily ever after!

I've had every single iPhone since the Original brick, and i don't think I've ever been this excited to get a new phone.
