ordered a 27" imac for the family!

-core i7 3.4ghz
-4GB ram
-256GB SSD + 1TB HD
-radeon 6970m 2GB
-wired keyboard with numpad
-magic trackpad

getting applecare and more ram from newegg when the machine ships. expected to delivery by july 27th!

Returned my new iMac to the local store mainly because I wanted the trackpad (only available with iMac online) and so I ordered one from the online Apple store. I do miss the iMac 27 inch screen as I'm now using a 10 inch netbook for the next few days.

It finally dispatched today (took 2 days due to the trackpad), am a bit disheartened that it took 4 hours to get from arnhem to einhoven (took me an hour and i'm useless!) but of course they must have many consignments to collect/drop off or something. Its expected for the 14th of june but i'm hoping monday or even tomorrow (practically impossible but oh well). I ordered the i5 3.1 Ghz model this time (the store one was the 2.7 Ghz version).

Definitely the best computer I've ever had. Only thing I hate is that my pc friends won't **** about macs vs pcs

Ordered a 27" iMac yesterday!

After 17 years of PCs, I'm finally making the switch. I've been waiting for this day for a long time, and finally did it! Should be delivered on Tuesday or Wednesday next week :)

People that are getting iMacs at the moment... Are they specced with SSDs? I ordered mine 4 of the 4-6 weeks ago and I'm getting itchy :(

I want my mac!

Nope, I stuck with the standard rotating disk - quite honestly I don't think SSD is there yet when it comes to legivity, random write/read speed, and when it comes to space versus cost. When I priced up my iMac I sure as heck wasn't going to upgrade to an SSD given the price tag demanded - NZ$990 to go from a 1TB to a 1TB + 256GB SSD.

Happy Happy Joy Joy

I picked up an i7, 27" iMac at the 29th Street Mall store in Boulder, CO yesterday. This is an upgrade from my 2007 1.83Ghz C2D Mac Mini ... and what and upgrade!!!

Sadness, I used Migration Assistant, and it got stuck with "5 Minutes" remaining with a lost connection error. I believe the issue was related to the fact that I had the Mac Mini on a fix IP address and when MA went to change the ethernet settings, the change to the same IP address caused the communications to stop. It looks like most of the stuff had transferred at that point, so ... Happy Happy Joy Joy! :D

Funky, I walked into the Apple store in Boulder, CO yesterday and walked out with a i7, 27" iMac and a free trackpad. When I asked the rep if I could swap the magic mouse for a track pad (after mentioning the cool Lion demo), she said sure. When the iMac came out, she gave me a box with the trackpad and said I could keep the magic mouse. On my receipt, it shows a $69 credit with the label of "$ off customer service". I also got my corporate discount.

Needless to say, I am pleased as punch. I was upgrading from a 2007 C2D 1.83Ghz Mac Mini. This is SOOOOO much better.

My 27" iMac with an SSD has shipped even though Apple originally stated the 27th as my shipping date. All being well it will be with me on Wednesday.

Although the online tracking doesn't seem to be working at the moment. Are they updating their systems?

My iMac was shipped on Saturday and it said delivery would be on or before June 14th, but the tracking's not working for me either. Guess it's down for maintenance or something...

My iMac was also shipped on a Saturday [2 wks ago FedEx Ground] but it took a day before the tracking was active. It kicked in late Sunday and I had active tracking only thru Monday PM when it left the hub. Popped up again at the hub near here for the DC area and I got it right on time - as promised - Saturday, just 8 days ago! I could not help myself - I checked it at least 4 or 5 times a day all week!!! You guys are gonna love the TrackPad..

Bah...

Not sure if it'll arrive today, might give them a call.

I'm looking forward to it! I got the mouse and the trackpad, but I'm thinking that I might end up only using the mouse when I'm in Photoshop.

I hate the mouse for Photoshop. I have pretty big hands so what happens is I end up scrolling the image away off the screen because my finger hits the scroll area of the mouse.

I just received my refurb 2010 i7. Dead pixel bang in the centre of the screen, 4 or 5 beard hairs inside the glass, screen was yellow at the centre-bottom, although far better than in my previous dalliances into iMacVille.

If I was Tony Soprano, I'd be inclined to bash some skulls. This problem still hasn't been sorted. 2 years down the friggin' line!

I'd have no problem with never using a mouse again if the trackpad is THAT great!

I'm in the UK too, but my tracking still isnt working. It says it shipped on June 11th, but when I try to track the delivery it says the service is temporarily unavailable and to try again later...

Is that with TNT? If so, are you tracking via the UK website or the IE website? I found it only tracked on the latter for some reason (my iMac started in the Netherlands) and when I track it on the UK site it either says something random or that the service is temporarily down.

I just received my BTO 27" with SSD. The screen is perfect. No yellowing. No dead pixels. And no stray dust/dirt/hair in the LCD.

I could not be happier on my purchase. After being a long time customer of Gateway, Dell and a few other PC vendors over the last 30 years, I don't remember being so taken by the fit, finish and overall quality of a system.

Thanks a lot for that link! It worked right away, and it now says that mine is in Nuneaton...Should be here tomorrow! Don't know why the tracking via Apple isn't working...

I've had my new 21.5 inch Imac for almost a week now, done the upgrade to 12 mb ram (Boy was that easy) and have loaded it up with alot of good software. I'm loving the machine, best desktop i've ever owned.

Well ordered my new Apple machine today

iMac 27inch
i7 Processor
4GB Ram
1TB HD
2GB Upgrade GPU

Can't wait for it to arrive :D:apple:

After 20 years of Windows PC I thought it's time to give Apple a chance.
Today from our local reseller I ordered

iMac 27inch
i7 Processor
4GB Ram
1TB HD
2GB Upgrade GPU

Nice surprise was to find out they where doing a double your ram promotion for June. So I'm getting 8 GB for the price of 4GB. Just got to wait now for the machine to land.

I ordered my iMac 27" from Apple using the education discount on the 14th. It was shipped on the 15th (via express delivery) and according to the tracking, it should be delivered today :D :D
Very fast delivery, hopefully it will arrive in good condition

Which brand RAM did you go for? How much did it cost and where did you buy it?

Pulled The Trigger... Let The Tracking Begin!

I've always built my own PCs, but finally grew tired of all the frustrating problems of getting Windows to work properly once the rig was assembled. Driver issues, updates, etc.

Can't wait!

27-inch iMac

Configuration
3.4GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
4GB 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x2GB
2TB Serial ATA Drive
AMD Radeon HD 6970M 2GB GDDR5
Magic Trackpad
Apple Wireless Keyboard (English) & User's Guide
Accessory Kit

After selling my old gaming PC, I have just ordered an iMac.

-core i7 3.4ghz
-4GB ram
-256GB SSD + 1TB HD
-radeon 6970m 2GB
-wired keyboard with numpad
-magic trackpad

To bad I had to pay with a banktransfer since I don't have a creditcard... So it'll take two days longer to get here :p

I hope I am lucky and have a good screen, I am really fearing the yellow tint.
