Just ordered a refurb 2010 iMac 27" 3.2GHz Core i3!

This beauty should sit nicely to my triple 1080p nvidia surround desktop. :D

Ordered overnight so can't wait till tomorrow! :apple:

Ordered a 2011 base 27in: Education discount + $100 gift card + free printer + free magic trackpad (long story)

I also ordered a mini displayport to hdmi converter from MonoPrice :D

Gonna get a 1x4GB stick of RAM from Newegg probably too :)

May upgrade to an SSD next year or the year after when prices go down. Probably going to get an MBA next year though.

Just placed an order for the 27" i7 3.4ghz. 4gb of ram (will upgrade to 12 later), and 1gb video. Felt the 2gb video memory would be a waste of money as I would not take advantage at all.
Can't wait until it gets here!

You ordered 16gb RAM from Apple? In Europe that is an extra 600€ in the Apple store, while you can buy 16gb of RAM for 135€ from Crucial and then you can sell the 2x2gb that comes standard with the iMac.

If I were you, I'd return the iMac for a full refund and order one without the Apple Ram. For the price difference you can even install an SSD.

Earlier today I ordered my first Mac:

3.1GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5
4GB 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x2GB
1TB Serial ATA Drive
AMD Radeon HD 6970M 2GB GDDR5
Magic Trackpad (instead of the mouse)

My estimated delivery date is 6/24-6/28... Since I have never ordered a Mac before, I was wondering how accurate Apple's estimates are?

It was given to me as a gift. I got to configure it. It's already got an SSD.

Nooooooooo! Yessssssssss!

No one home for my Fedex shipment of my brand new fully loaded BTO iMac!!!!

Thank goodness they're open tomorrow for pickup!

Woohoo!

Got it!

I hauled it home from the post office 17th of June (yesterday, strictly speaking) - ordered it the day it was announced (3rd of May).

Have installed the Steam client, and had som Civilization V fun. Also fetched the full TeX Live 2010, but haven't delved into the 3+ GB typography goodness - that's usually work, I want to have fun :D

Arriving Monday... RFB 2010 iMac 27" 2.93 i7/4GB/1TB HDD.

Too good of a deal to pass up seeing how its Geekbench wasn't that far off from the new 2011 i7. Don't think I'll be using Thunderbolt.

Also arriving the same day will be my 8GB RAM from OWC. Perfect timing!

I do web/graphic design so this will be a huge step up from my 2007 2.16 C2D 15" MBP.

So now the debate is... To sell/not to sell the 15" MBP for a 13" MBA :D

I ordered my 27" iMac Friday night. I am thrilled. I've been waiting since January and since the wife gave me the go-ahead I finally got to order. I can't wait to receive it, which should be from the 28th - 30th.

Here are my specs:
PROCESSOR 065-0250 3.4GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
MEMORY 065-0251 4GB 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x2GB
HARD DRIVE 065-0255 1TB Serial ATA Drive
GRAPHICS 065-0312 AMD Radeon HD 6970M 2GB GDDR5
MOUSE AM065-0341 APPLE MAGIC MOUSE-AM

Now I have to order some additional RAM and pick up a mini display port adapter so I can hook up a second monitor. :)

People I am soooo happy! Today I bought my very first Mac!
It's the 21.5 inch 2.5 GHz Intel core i5, with the 4GB of RAM. And I am totally in love with it.

All I have to do now, is get used to this small keyboard!
I keep pressing the wrong keys here.

So any (software) tips for this new Mac OS X user? :)

Geekbench score: 7298

Got my BTO 21.5" i7 with SSD on Monday.

First impression was - Oh. My. God. Wonderful screen and completely silent. The same evening I started to get the dreaded HDD humming/vibrating issue that seems to be quite common.

Following day the humming/vibrating had gone but it was replaced with a very discrete but still noticable whine/buzz, which triggers my tinnitus and was quite annoying.

If I was buying again I'd opt for an SSD without a second drive and use an external HDD.

Or I may just be being overly paranoid and the whine/buzz may be gone by the time I go home. I hope so. It's an awesome machine but it's going back if it keeps messing with my ears.

New Mac user here! Making the switch from PCs... it isn't easy.
I got an i5 iMac 2.7GHz. Loving it so far, though, I've not been able to do much.

I need help please

Hello,

I want to ask you if it is good to buy a used iMac 3 or 4 years old and it was at graphic design lab at college?

they re install all new software but I'm not sure if its better to buy latest technology with my $500 for descktop pc or to pay $500 for 4 old used iMac although it will be my first and I'm a regular user (facebook, Emails, books,..)

what do you think?

Just buy an iPad .... It will more than sufficient for your needs
