Just ordered my i7, 2.93 27" refurb from the Apple store. This is my first Apple computer purchase ever. :D (I do have an iPhone4, and love it) I already have a Magic Trackpad, and purchased the extra 8G of GSkill ram a couple of weeks ago when it was on sale.

This will replace a 9 year old Gateway 700 series desktop with 1G of Rambus memory and an 18" screen. Its been a good system, but time for a change.

Lots of new things to learn... wish me luck:cool:

Ordered last night, shipped today, due for delivery tomorrow! Can't wait!

WTF?! How come yours shipped so fast? Mine left Sacramento, CA at 4:21am. They got 2000 miles to go!

Just got mine yesterday from the Apple store and it was a complete impulse purchase. I got this one:

27-inch:

* 2.7GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5
* 2560 x 1440 resolution
* 4GB (two 2GB) memory
* 1TB hard drive1
* AMD Radeon HD 6770M with 512MB

Paid $1648 after the printer rebate and an 8% Verizon employee discount. Didn't feel ripped off at all. Oh also had to purchase IRip to get my music from the IPOD to the Library. Probably a free way but too tired to look. Not schilling for IRip but it was so easy to do I kept thinking I was doing something wrong :)

I am not a computer geek at all but after spending about FOUR HOURS trying to recover something my HP 'lost', and nearly punching a hole in the monitor, I said no more. No more noise, no more lag, no more Itunes issues, no more anything! This may be a pipe dream but the way I figure it can't ever be any worse.

Hope this iMac is all I hear, so far just playing with it, it seems pretty awesome, especially the dock bar, I really like clean desktops. Can't wait to really get into the whole Apple experience.

+1 on the lag issue and Windows, my friend. My 21.5 was the 1st desktop at home since before the millennium. It takes some time to sort out the keyboard thing and a different menu system, but I am at 30 days with the iMac and love it. I strongly urge you to pick up a copy of Pogue's Mac OSX Snow Leopard "The Missing Manual" to make the transition. It's a great reference.

This sounds well gay but i was well happy when the UPS guy arrived with it :eek: Got it this morning. Great purchase, up and running in 10 minutes :eek:

Bought a refurbished 27" 2.66ghz i5 iMac about 3 weeks ago...had some display issues and found that the 2.8ghz i7 version was only 20 bucks more! Setup a return (which was easy as pie, thanks Apple!) and placed a new order for the 2.8ghz i7. Got it delivered a few days ago and just now discovered that my configuration came with a 2TB drive instead of 1TB! Very excited to have my first iMac after having a number of MacBook Pros.

getting a 65 app voucher free as I'm a student so I cancelled iWork pre install, as that will just about cover it from app store. Now it will take 2 more days to deliver computer... need to distract my self until the 14th. It's true: apple can improve productivity!

Ordered 21.5 Imac basic one + magic trackpad ...
The status on Apple store says "Prepared for Shipment" for more than 1 day already but not shipped yet :( ... wonder if anything might happen to my very first Imac :(

Just got my iMac! I impulsively decided I needed an iMac about 5 days ago. I bought it and financed it through Bill Me Later. I gave my old MacBook (13 inch, bought in late 07ish) to my mom, and have been using my PC Laptop for the past 7 days.

Last night, I got impulsive again and decided I needed a MacBook Pro - which I ORIGINALLY intended to buy after I got this one paid off in full (In January). But, I bought it last night instead. I'll have them both paid off in full by January, if Bill Me Later accepted that transaction.

I'm completely crazy and Apple makes me an impulsive shopper. :rolleyes: I guess if BML doesn't accept the second charge, I can make myself wait until Jan to buy it. It still says "prepared for shipping", but hasn't been shipped yet - so its making me wonder. Its been about 12 hours since I purchased it. The iMac shipped within 6 hours of purchasing it.

I'm not sure if I regret purchasing both at the same time or not, even though I'm 100% sure I'll have them both paid in full. Its just a little overwhelming to know I just spent 2k bucks on 2 computers.

Either way - this iMac is AMAZING. Holy crap the screen resolution is blowing me away.

*Edit* Scratch that. Just got the confirmation email that the MBP was shipped. Woot! No turning back now.

Satan might have stolen it ;p (check your post number if you don't get the joke)

iMac now shipped... though the tracker says it will take 7 days to arrive!!! Do they not realise I will not be able to sleep for a week.

Where do the iMac's ship from, California? I guess that would make sense then. Here's hoping for an early consignment.

If you customized it, it ships from China. But both have mine (uncustomized) have shipped from Nashville and Memphis. I don't know what it depends on. It should say where the origin scan is on the Tracking Info.

Depending on where you live, it'll probably come in 2-3 days (if you're in the US). It usually doesn't take the full week to arrive.

Ahhh ... you're rite ... Satan stole my imac to do the clearance lol ... now my shipment status is "Clearance delay Pvg-PVG" and "Shipment on hold Pvg - PVG" .... I have no idea what's this about...:confused:

By the way, while "patiently" waiting for it, may I ask all bros here about the Must-do-list (I'm sorry because my question is abit off-topic) when getting the first imac (like checking yellow tint , dead pixel ...), thanks :).

Good question...

Got my new iMac on Tuesday night, it's sitting on ym dining room table since I have no idea where to put it. I am in LOVE! Now I know why "they" say "Once you go Mac...you never go back". I have been a PC user for quite awhile, even built my own rig but this is way more fun! Still getting used to the Magic Trackpad-it takes more effort than a mouse, IMHO.

I need to get some One to One classes under my belt. As intuitive as this machine is, I still need help. I can seem to get pics into my Wordpress Blog and it's making me crazy.

I also got the LexMark Impact All-in-One and it's my first experience with a wireless printer. Squee! Any suggestions on how to get something printed off an iPhone?
