Fedex is frustrating, I wish Apple used UPS...

No updates on my shipment since it started its travels on the 10th, at least with ups i can see where its at in transit in most cases seeing it's updates every day or two....

In the apple email it's scheduled for delivery between the 16th to the 18th, but who knows...

I was hoping it might show on truck or out for delivery but so far nothing but arrived at first stop...

Aug 10, 2011 5:20 PM
Shipment information sent to FedEx

Thanks Fedex... Guess i am just anxious to get my first mac...

Mine has been sitting in Kansas! Fedex is frustrating. The website says it will provide a tracking update on the 15th (today) and it hasn't done so. It has said this since the 13th.

Been doing a lot of reading to prep for my new iMac and well, today I pulled the trigger.

I picked up a 27", 3.4ghz I7 system today. My main focus will be photo editing, some slide shows and general computing. I opted to get Snow Leopard for my OS until I see some of the small glitches worked out in Lion.

I have to say that 27" screen allows me to see what's on it from across a long room :D

Been too long since I had a Mac in my home. Color me happy.

How'd you pick up a 3.4 GHz one? I was told by Apple Store in Brea, CA that the only way to get a customized Apple iMac was to buy online.

Also for those who have ordered their iMacs and literally got them like the same day or next day, where do you live in relation to Cupertino?

Gah, as soon as my cheque clears I'm good to order, hopefully it clears tomorrow as it's a building society one.

Estimated Delivery will be 25th Aug. Why so long and no shipping methods are available :(

Any chance it could come earlier? I'm from the UK.

Update:

Arrived today.
27" 2.7 i5 w/4GB RAM + 256GB SSD + 1TB HDD
TrackPad & Wireless KB

Apple VESA Mount & OWC 8GB RAM (2x4GB) arrived last Friday.

Shipped from CA and indeed says USA built machine. Expect it will have Lion on it at this point, especially considering there is no restore disk in the box but I have not booted it yet. Won't be setting it up today unfortunately, but I opened the box which has Lion desktop image and did confirm the new keyboard and lack of SL restore disks.

Still have to decide on a wall mount option.
Looking at Premier AM50-B, Innovative 7500-HD, Humanscale M8. But looking for another option too before I decide. No huge rush there.

As much as I might be looking forward to setting up and using this machine, I want to clean up the data on my 24" prior to migrating and am seriously considering cleaning up iPhoto library and migrating it to Aperture 3 prior to loading it on the 27".

I live about 5 miles from Cupertino. However, according to FedEx the package was routed through Sacramento which is about 90 miles away, so it still took a day to arrive after the order was completed.

So, I thought mine was shipping but I looked last night and realized that my $100 gift card is actually what's shipping lol. My iMac is still processing since the 13th and I can't even check it this morning because the apple store is down for updates :(

My Apple store had them in stock. I confirmed everything both on the box and when I fired it up. I guess they try to carry at least 2 of the 3.4 GHz models, everything else was standard except the processor.

I just wish I had a tracking number for my iMac. All I have one for is the gift card. Could be in shipping for all I know but the apple store online just had to go down at the worst time possible.

I'm on my new iMac right now! The display is perfect! There isn't the slightest hint of yellow tint. I'm so very happy!!!

Ordered baseline 21.5 on the 10th,came today by fedex, no dead or stuck pixels, no discoloration, absolutely perfect.apple made my day,its awesome, love it.

Forgot to add, came with lion, new artwork on the box,new keyboard. thanks apple

I ish FedEx delivered on weekends :( chances are mine will be here on like Saturday or late tomorrow but I wont get it until Monday :( I wonder, if I just went over you figure they'd be open and let me pick it up?

I ordered an iMac 27" ( i7, 2gb graph, 1T HD, 256 gb ssd, 4gb Ram) the 12th of august at an official apple reseller ( Macline), we don't have apple stores in Belgium. No way to check where my iMac is, just waiting for the call of relief :)

I wonder in which country people are complaining or having the most problems about their screens. I guess it also depends of how demanding consumers are in different countries. Some more than others but since I paid 2750 euros ( almost 4000 US $ ) I'll be expecting at least an almost perfect screen. Think it's fair and justified or perhaps I'm wrong ? We'll see

Delivered!!! Delivered!!! Delivered!!! Delivered!!!

Mine has been delivered! w00000000t! Will be in iMac heaven tonight. :D
