The "I just ordered/bought/got my new/refurb iMac" thread [merged]

I suspect mine came in from overseas. Though, mine is still not yet shipped. Since mine is a "Merge in transit" shipment, they probably had it delivered to a UK based Apple warehouse where they finished off the shipment with the extra accessories I asked for.

Mine was BTO and as I understand, BTO systems are built and shipped from China first.

Ah yes that does make sense. Well mine is now being prepared for shipment, so I guess we'll find out how long it takes to deliver fairly soon! Really hope it arrives early next week and not Wednesday/Thursday as predicted because I have a week off work.

Doubt there is much chance of it coming earlier. If you're from the UK remember it's bank holiday weekend.

Just ordered mine, BTO 21.5 i7 iMac. Delivery ETA is the 1st of Sept. Worked out perfect timing, get to relax at Leeds Festival and then hopefully get my Mac on the Thursday.
 
Just got back from BB and got the 21.5" 1TB model.

I'm going to open it right now and get it going next to my PC - which will be stripped apart once I back up the files and get them on a CD for the iMac.

Man am I ****ing excited.

edit: I'm now on it. It's absolutely beautiful. The keyboard is a bit of a mind ****, though. I'll get used to it.

And man - looking at my old Samsung display next to the iMac one... Not even close. The colors are amazing. I did the yellow screen thing and no problems. So far, this machine is really, really smooth, too.

Completely forgot about it being bank holiday, thanks for reminding me. We have the same delivery ETA, and you've only just ordered yours and it's BTO which is why I'm hoping mine arrives sooner. No big deal if not though :)

I'd be quietly confident it will arrive on Tuesday if you ordered early morning or yesterday. I've seen numerous people receive BTOs 3/4 days before the estimated delivery.

I've been told that sometimes they can be shipped instantly from Ireland rather than being built in China, which is odd.

Yeah, we shall see! I keep getting confused with who ordered a BTO machine, mine *isn't* a BTO machine, which is why I'm hoping it arrives sooner.
 
Mine has been dispatched, but it does seem like it is being dispatched from China as it is in the first stage of shipment.

It'll still go through the stages I previously posted, like being met up in different places to put the shipment together. At least it was dispatched today!
 
IMac ordered August 23rd

Just ordered, on Aug 23rd, my iMac 3.4GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7, 4GB 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x2GB, AMD Radeon HD 6970M 2GB GDDR5, w/ Track Pad and Wireless Keyboard.

Patiently waiting for it to come though it has an estimate delivery date between Aug 26th-30th.

The thing is, it is stuck in processing items....Hopefully someone forgot to update and its on its way...lol...wishful thinking

Where are you guys getting this "processing" from? When I log into my order track, it just says "not yet shipped", I have my order confirmation from Apple.

Any reason why?
 
is there any chance that though it may say processing item that they could have shipped it already..ordered the expedited shipping and hoping that it comes Friday rather than next week...

Edit: iMac is preparing to ship....

Same thing for me when I ordered mine. When the iMac is shipped then the action begins :) Just be patient, even though the wait is hard!
 
Decided against getting the Mini and have just ordered the base model 21.5" iMac :D also got 8GB (4GBx2) RAM on order from crucial.

Delivery estimate says Friday 26th August, seems pretty quick to me given what others have said in the thread so let's hope that date holds true. Can't wait will be a great replacement for my trusty old early 2006 iMac.
 
Very impressed with working through Online Apple Store...Ordered it Monday my BTO iMac and I should have it on Friday through 2 Day Fedex....

Now hopefully there is no cracks or dents....

Just an update: my order has been preparing to ship for about 24 hours now. Not sure how they distribute orders from wherever they are (in bulk etc.) so just being patient. Was hoping that is it was sent this morning from the UK then it could have been delivered tomorrow (wishful thinking!).
 
Just got shipment notification email looks like it should be here tomorrow as estimated :D

Hopefully you will get yours tomorrow, Bradison!

Let's hope so! No shipment notification as yet!

Edit: still nothing so I assume they'll send it tomorrow for delivery on Tuesday or Wednesday. Just a bit strange as it said "despatch within 24 hours" when I ordered it on Monday.

My iMac is in a UK distribution centre being merged with the rest of my order. Could potentially be dispatched tonight with a carrier.. I hope!
 
It has been dispatched! UPS have it and it is coming tomorrow! Have my UPS tracking number and everything.
 
Nice one Qwaf :) seems I may not be so lucky I've just checked order tracking again on Apple and UPS sites and its now changed from Friday 26th to Monday 29th. Worse still Monday is a bank holiday so no chance it will be delivered then.

Disappointing given dispatch email says I should have it 26th.

Nice! Well jealous lol. I was gonna ring Apple to see if anything is wrong but decided against it. What's made it worse is that I'm sitting around doing nothing so time is going so slow!

Do you get a despatch email and then another one with UPS details?

I got the dispatch email which said it may take 2 - 3 business days for the order status to update. I checked back an hour later and it had given me my UPS tracking number and a new Estimated delivery.

Checked the UPS tracking number and it is indeed scheduled for tomorrow.
