Ordered my i7 iMac with SSD/2TB HDD on Tuesday. The site shows 2-4 business days to ship, so hoping to get shipping confirmation today. Paid extra for overnight shipping...if the gods bless me, I'll have it tomorrow (don't know if weekend delivery is an option).

Already have a MBA 13" (mid-2010), but want to use the iMac as my primary machine to store Aperture files, etc. Ever since Lion, my MBA has been very buggy, so hopping to get everything moved over easily and then will start with a fresh install of SL and Lion on my MBA.

Hand is getting sore from hitting "Get Mail" every 3 seconds looking for my shipping confirmation email.

im a little jealous of all you 27" iMac guys. lol

Just picked up the base iMac. 21.5 i5quad 4gb ram. I will have it at 16GB very soon. It replaced my dying Mini which was a 1.8C2D with 3gb ram and a 40gb SSD. It is being religated to server duty. Large iTunes library, web server and networked drive hub.

This new machine will be mainly for HD video editing with an external 24" monitor as well. That leaves my 2.4 Blackbook for basic computer stuff. Browsing, photo field work, etc.

I am so excited to get a new mac, woot woot!!!!

I just picked a base iMac 21.5 this morning. I'd previously posted about wanting a 27" but when I saw them in store the 27" was just too big. Anyway, a local reseller had the base iMac selling for 10% off so pulled the trigger today. 1799 NZ dollars is pretty awesome for the amount of computer you get.

My setup is complete. iMac for home use and the 11" Macbook Air for portability. I'm a happy man :)

Received my 21.5" iMac with 256 GB SSD last Friday and I'm very happy with it :)

Still trying to get used to how quite it is :D

Finally pulled the trigger on a 27" iMac. Now to start pacing in front of my house ala Cartman.
"Come on...come ON!"

Mid Life purchase :D

Well, not exactly...but I have used PC's for over 30 years now and last night ordered my first Apple computer....27" iMac, 3.4 GHz Core i7, 2TB hard Drive, 2G Radeon video board...I do amateur video editing with Adobe CS5.5 and am excited about making the switch...certainly a little "nervous" about leaving the PC world behind but life is short (RIP Steve Jobs) so I went for the gusto!!!...in a couple of weeks, my desk is going to look soooooooo good :D

I got my 27" fully specced up iMac just over a week ago, it's superb and lightening fast at opening apps since I got it set up with them on the SSD.
Currently away on busines so I'm having to make do with my iPad, can't wait to get back to it :D

Got my 27inch iMac the other day. Massive upgrade over the 13 MBP I was using prior to it. Watching 1080p has never been better.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A334 Safari/7534.48.3)

I've been waiting to post in this thread for months and the day is finally here! Just pulled the trigger on a higher-end 21.5 inch with an i7 processor. Can't wait! :D

I remember posting in this (well not THIS one, but one just like it) thread when I got my iMac g5 way back in 2004 - how time flies!

PS: anyone want to buy an iMac G5? Haha

For anyone interested, I finally mounted my 27" iMac and posted pics in the Best Arm Options thread.

Just bought the wife the 21.5" i5 (2.7GHz) with 1TB HDD and 4GB RAM last night, with full size wired KB as she wants the numerical keypad. She is pleased as punch right about now.

Although having to run a VM for her Finance application (that needs Windows) means I may have to increase the RAM to 8GB total :)

Hello :)

Hello this is my first post here + I bought my new base iMac with 21.5" screen, Intel core i5 processor, 4 GB RAM and 512 MB ATI 6750M. After using PC for almost 8 yrs I decided to buy a Mac and I am so proud to own it. It also makes my friends envy me :D

Finally! My iMac arrived a couple days ago and so far so amazing. It's my first Mac and I've been excited to use it.

Specs as follows:

27" iMac
i7 3.4ghz
12gb ram
2gb GPU HD6970

Finally took the plunge

After years of playig with iPods, iPhones and an iPad; I have finally taken the plunge and bought a 27" iMac. Got the 2.7GHz version and upgraded to 12Gb Kingston RAM.

I've been driving the family mad for about the last 6 months, and finally got it on Saturday. It is absolutely amazing. So much quicker and more intuitive than a PC. My 8 year old daughter is getting to grips with it already and really she likes the gestures on the Magic Mouse and Trackpad.

Looks like Apple have got themselves another life-long convert.

Refurb 21.5" Coming Wednesday!

So I'm finally buying a desktop after all these years as a MacBook owner. I will be retiring my 2007 BlackBook to either internet surfing on the go, or selling it all together and buying an iPad for portability. The 21.5 refurb was just too good of a deal for a quad core iMac. $1019!! I will be using it for Graphic Design, and other artistic endeavors. Can't wait!
