as much as I'd love to shell out the extra $$$ for the SSD, I just can't wait the 4-6 weeks and I REALLY don't want to shell out the extra money for it - I know it will give quicker access on booting and to programs but the expense...

I am just waiting for a check to clear before I jump in and make my order

• 3.4GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
• 4GB 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x2GB
• 2TB Serial ATA Drive
• AMD Radeon HD 6970M 2GB GDDR5
• Apple Magic Mouse + Magic Trackpad
• Apple Keyboard with Numeric Keypad (English) & User's Guide

under $2400 with EPP pricing - adding the SSD cranks it to just a hair under $2800 - I really don't want to spend that much and think I can hold out for another 2-3 years OR hope that T-bolt will support a SSD in an ext. enclosure for the future

What did you buy? SPEC IT!

I want an SSD too, but yeah the price is too high, and I can't wait that long.
Nice specs though (exactly the same as mine down to the keyboard, although I did separately buy extra RAM [EDIT] oh, and I only got the Magic Mouse)

I see you can get a wired keyboard,
is the Apple mouse a wired mouse?

Magic mouse and Mighty mouse, these are the wireless ones?

Just ordered

Apple Magic Mouse
Apple Wireless Keyboard (British) & User's Guide (English)

COUNTRY KIT,K60/K62

4-6 week wait though. Maybe Lion will be on it by then.

You'd better waited 4 weeks and buy it then.
Then the Back To School promotion will start and you'd have a iPod Touch for free!

Final Cut Express preinstalled when Final Cut Pro X with 64bit and grand central support will be just 299$ on the appstore?

Ordered on my lunch hour (along with the $100 HP printer)...

2.5GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5
8GB 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x4GB
500GB Serial ATA Drive
AMD RadeonHD 6750M 512MB GDDR5
APPLE MAGIC MOUSE
Apple WL Kybd (English)+User's
COUNTRY KIT,IMAC

Before anyone harasses me, yes I know Apple overcharges for RAM.

3.1GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5
8GB 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x4GB
2TB Serial ATA Drive
AMD Radeon HD 6970M 1GB GDDR5
MAGIC MOUSE+MAGIC TRACKPAD-AM
APPLE BATTERY CHARGER
APPLE REMOTE
Apple WL Kybd (English)+User's
COUNTRY KIT,IMAC

I changed my mind about 20 times, and it took me more than an hour to figure out what I wanted, but I hope I chose well.
And yes, I also know that Apple over charges for RAM, but I know if I didn't do it this way, it just wouldn't get done.

3.4ghz quad core i7
Radeon 6970m 2gb
2tb hard drive
4gb ram
Got the trackpad in place of the mouse as the magic mouse sucks for gaming and i'll use a different one. Don't care much about the trackpad but hey, it's included.

Getting the wired keyboard as I like having arrow keys and a number pad.

I dithered for quite some time but eventually landed on this configuration for my first iMac! It's always difficult when you know that for just $100 more you could upgrade to x or y but ultimately there is a budget that I have to pay attention to!

27-inch
3.1GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5
8GB 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x4GB
2TB Serial ATA Drive
AMD Radeon HD 6970M 1GB GDDR5
Magic Trackpad
Apple Wireless Keyboard (English)
AppleCare

Bought it through the aeroplan e-store for a few bonus miles.

I'm really excited. And now I'm just waiting for the new MBAs!

If you upgrade that ram yourself instead of getting ripped off by apple you'd be another $100 under budget or have that to upgrade something else.

after refreshing these forums ~20 times a day for over a month waiting for imac news, i finally ordered my first own mac!

specs (27inch):
• 3.4GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
• 4GB 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x2GB
• 1TB Serial ATA Drive
• AMD Radeon HD 6970M 2GB GDDR5
• Apple Magic Mouse
• Apple Keyboard with Numeric Keypad (Dutch) & User's Guide

I'm used to working with macs on my work, i've got a mac pro (2007, i believe) there with a cinema display (i thought it was huge when i first used it). It has been upgraded with a 2tb hd and 12gb RAM total.

I hope my new imac is going to beat that mac pro!

I had no experience at ordering at the apple online store until today, i'm dying for a payment confirmation message (no CC, so i paid by bank)....

Just bought a top-end stock 27" iMac (Mid 2011). :D

It will be a while before I have it ready for use, as I'm doing a "manual partial migration" - something I've been wanting to do anyway but haven't had an excuse to do :p

iMac 27 inch

  • 3.1GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5
  • 4GB 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x2GB
  • 2TB Serial ATA Drive
  • AMD Radeon HD 6970M 2GB GDDR5
  • Magic Trackpad
  • Apple Wireless Keyboard (English) & User's Guide
  • Accessory Kit

Anyone know what the "accessory kit" is? Just the cleaning cloth and OS X disks I would immagine.
