Have had a maxed out 27" on order for 2 days,

Plus Mobee chargers etc
Believe it is coming from Singapore, delivering to Australia so guess I have a long wait

Don't know whether anybody else has a problem but they, (Apple), are shipping the bits and pieces as they are ready

That is OK but all the items are "pending",
Unfortunately, as each item is shipped, Apple keep adding that shipped price to my account, if they keep going, I could get up to $8000, not exact price but approx double the order

My bank sees these pending amounts as charges and I am also getting the additional shipped amounts added on

Contacted Apple, they say everything is OK? But Apple are not paying my bank fees

Guess Its like having a baby, you forget about the pain when the baby arrives :)

So I caved...

So I caved in and bouth the 3.2 ghz i5 base model at the apple store today. I was considering the i7, but it is literally beyond my simple needs, and was $600.00 more. So far I'm highly enjoying my purchase.

Just ordered!

Had some money left over from a work stipend, so I just ordered:

27 inch iMac
3.4GHz i7
32gb ram
3tb fusion
2gb video
Mouse and keyboard
SuperDrive
Battery charger

Sound good?

Won the Refurb Lottery

I ordered the 2.9Ghz i5 and received a 3.1Ghz i7!
My 21.5 inch iMac screams!

• Intel Core i7 quad-core 3.1GHz
• 16GB SDRAM DDR3 1600MHz
• 1 TB Fusion Drive
• NVIDIA GeForce GT 650

Very happy camper!

I just ordered my first Mac yesterday! Spent years stewing over what to buy. Originally I was going to budget for the base model 21 inch, but I need the power for audio recording and illustration/animation, so I made the leap for the 27 inch with 7200rpm hard drive. The 3TB was a last minute addition, even though I plan on having an external HD soon. I just figured, since this is going to have to last me for 5 or 6 years, I can prevent the hassle of expansion later by just doing it now. Will expand the memory to 16 or 32. Also was debating between Refurb or New, but with the Education discount, the $100 app gift card, and the addition of Mountain Lion (and the option to choose magic trackpad), it was only the difference of a hundred or so. No regrets.

• 2.9GHz Quad-core Intel Core i5, Turbo Boost up to 3.6GHz
• 8GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x4GB
• 3TB Serial ATA Drive @ 7200 rpm
• NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M 512MB GDDR5
• Magic Trackpad
• Apple Wireless Keyboard

I'm not just stoked, I'm iStoked.

I bought my first iMac on Sunday. I didn't splurge...

2.7Ghz i5
8GB RAM
GT 640M
1TB HDD

I don't plan on gaming a lot with it, and if it lasts as long as my other macs have in the past, they usually age pretty well. Hell, my first gen intel mac mini will still browse the web just fine.

Just thought I'd share, I'm enjoying the experience so far. I had to ditch the mouse though, I'm using my faithful old MX518.

Nice computers. :)

In 2008 I bought my first iMac, and I sold it two weeks ago to my dad. I bought a PC with specs I thought were good. It's extremely fast, but I REALLY miss my iMac. :( I miss that glossy screen. hahah. Everything looked so good. Now I want to sell this PC to buy an iMac, but I don't think this PC will sell. :( I'm a college student who can't spend much. Booo.

I've been thinking about selling my OM-D camera to buy an iMac. XD.

I hope they introduce a redesigned magic mouse with the introduction of the Mac Pro - it's a little "unergonomical".

collector's item?

i have an old imac with the articulating monitor, that still works really well. my friends keep telling me it's worth quite a lot of money for collecting purposes.. any thoughts?

Probably not. I have a ten year-old G4 iMac. Last time I looked on eBay they were going for around £40.

Got my new 21.5 iMac today so far great machine and blazing fast....still learning my way around the OS X but it's not that bad and I am sure I will have loads of questions later!

Not to crush your hopes or anything, but the iMac with the articulating monitor is the iMac G4 "gooseneck." I work for an Apple Authorized Service Provider/Reseller and we've had a refurbished one on sale for $149 and haven't been able to sell it for a year, even at that price. Keep it around for a couple of decades though and that may change. :)

Something to consider: does Apple treat refurbs different than "new" Macs when it comes to recalls? I have an older iMac refurb, out of warranty, that had a failed Seagate drive. Apple did a recall on those, but mine didn't qualify. Never could figure out why; it was the same as ones recalled in other Macs. I've been trying to find out Apple policy on this without success; anyone know?

Just to reiterate: this was a recall, NOT a warranty issue.

Have you entered your serial number here to verify coverage? The recall covers computers up until 3 years from the date of original purchase or April 12, 2013 whichever is longer. It covers all computers of this model that were purchased from Oct 2009 to July 2011.
