Will they allow me to keep the sim card? I can't even open the sim tray, I've tried numerous times with paper clips, staples, anything that fits and no amount of pressure gets it to open.

Also, where can I buy a microsim adapter? I didn't even know such things existed!

Just returned my black, contract reset, all is well.

Awaiting the white to come now.

Getting excited... it's like christmas all over again.

Black iPhone 4
Free bumper already
Free 3g Microcell...

I hope you and everyone else doing the same thing don't get a white on day one and have to end up waiting weeks for one.

I've waited for it and so should of you. Guess I'm just feeding the troll though.

Ha, love the spin.THAT'S why they removed restocking fee. Silly me. And I thought it was because of the antenna issue. Oh wait, it was.

Please. Everyone swapping lucked out. Had Apple not removed the restocking fee because of the antenna none of you would be swapping because you'd have to drop an extra $60-70 to do it.

.....see i can do it too
Restocking fee $60-$70? My friend it's 10% at ATT. That's $20. I'd drop $20 without question. I know this for a fact, as I did THE SAME thing with a 3GS on my line. I bought it a few weeks before iP4 came out, returned it, got a iP4... paid $20. Who cares about $20. I don't if it's to upgrade what I want.

Pretty sure that means I'm going to hell yes? Since I've done this before?
Just keep the micro-sim card. Buy a sim card adapter that you plug the micro sim into. Then, whatever phone you buy, you just put the sim card into it, et voila, you still have your same number!

Hope that helps!
Get a new sim... it's what I did. Don't go thru that hassle.... they just handed me a new "larger" sim for free... activated it.

It's just sitting on my desk right now... but I still have unlimited data and all that good stuff.

You can keep it if you want, I have my large one from my 3g, my small from 4, and then my new large one they gave me today, free of charge.

Don't worry about the sim, it means nothing. Most important thing is your phone number that is tied to it.... has nothing to do with how they charge you or check for you data etc.

Sorry you feel that way.

And yeah, seems lots of trolls tonight ;)

I was trying to get a lil rally of swappers together... bleh.

You guys found a loophole, and decided to take advantage of the system. Don't lie, don't butter-coat it. Admit it. You guys just don't realize that as you get away with this stuff, the people who don't end up paying more. I'm not saying that the iPhone prices will go up, but for example, maybe bumpers would have only been $25, but now they're $30 to make up the difference.

It's just an example, but Apple has to make up the money somewhere.

Most humorous post goes to you. Haha! What about all the people that claim to have "perfect" phones and will jump right on the free case? Not only that but they will post air flights and statuses and wonder why it's taking so long. Give me a break moral man.

*deep sigh*

Look, you seem like a nice guy. But what your doing is wrong. You are taking advantage of a generous return policy. They did not intend on people returning their phones because they could.

You tell me: what does Apple/AT&T do with your refurbished iPhones? Most are sold as refurbished iPhones. And I bet you it's more than a $20 discount to buy refurbished. So: net gain for you, net loss for Apple.

That, is what I like to call: selfish

Hey, I don't even have an iPhone 4 yet, and I plan on getting a free bumper. Do you want to know why? Because I was already planning on getting one, maybe even two (I like having different color options). But, it's now impossible to buy a bumper. The only way to get a bumper is through their free program.

Could someone answer this question for me, please. Thank you.

Sorry, but I'm not sure what happens. If I had to bet, I'd say you probably lose your number. But, I doubt in the time between plans somebody would take the number, so you could always ask for it.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help. :(

You know it, I know it, we all know it. It's a loophole Apple opened themselves up to by being kind to their customers. You took their kindness and shoved it down their throats.

Spin it anyway you want, "justify" it how you like but in the end you have to live with yourself.

I'll post one last story and then leave this thread.

I live in a rural area with several farms around. One farm in particular grows corn every summer and sells it to the locals. No they don't take it to the market, they put out several stands around town in well placed areas for everyone to pick up some corn on the way home. Here's the catch none of the stands are manned. No cameras, no one watching. All they ask is you pay 25 cents an ear and be an honest consumer. They've been doing this for the 15 years I've been living in this town. Trust runs incredibly deep in this town and I can tell you that those who would steal from these hardworking farmers are unwelcome in this town.

edit:

Best part is, I don't have to though.

Sums up this thread perfectly

You're in limbo.

You have an account, the PHONE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH YOUR ACCOUNT... besides the data plan.

You have an account, and a contract. You'd void your contract with ATT by returning it... well reverse it I suppose, void is a bad word... but you still have an account. They don't just "drop you"... they want your money.

Wow, that's a really nice story! I actually live in an exact opposite town. Almost everybody thinks exactly the same way these guys do. And do you know what happened? The Wal-Mart and Costco went to h#ll (trust me, you don't want to see what they look like). Most other businesses either went out of business, or left town. It's a great example of how cheapness and immorality have short-term bonuses, but long-term consequences.

This will also be my last post in this... indescribable thread.

Good day.

Not to sound negative, but what right do you think you have to buy a product that you know you’re going to return it for a different colour? That’s like marrying someone, and divorcing them if you find a prettier woman.

Why not just wait the extra month and not screw Apple into a refurbished iPhone that was perfectly fine to start with?

While I personally find that kind of behavior childish, the right he has is clearly outlined in the return policy. Steve Jobs even talked about it in their "Everyone is holding it wrong" press conference....its called a buyers' remorse return policy.

He bought it. He had remorse for not having the white one. He returned it. All within his right.

Where -IS- this town? I need to go there and swindle all your neighboring fools out of everything they own just to help educate them about reality!

Seriously. Tell them welcome to the real world of greed and selfishness aka the business world. And to whoever said that they might have priced the bumper 5 dollars less because of this, you have got to be kidding me. Those have little protection and don't even cover the back. I will happily use my rubber case from a kiosk in my mall that's half the price and covers the back as well. And to make everyones head fall off, I will be getting a free bumper.

I'm going to bed... but I just had to comment.... I LOL'ed and actually chocked on my water with that comment.

You sir... have the best comment in the thread.

I like how the white iP4 seems to have a 'lip' around the home button that the black does not. It makes the home button stand out a bit more. Really nice...

New day... no white release, anybody else going to return them today or tomorrow in anticipation for a release next week?

What pisses me off about people like you is that there's some of us (me included) who laid off the black so we could wait specifically for the white. Now some of us might not be able to get a white just because you decided to return yours.

You're selfish.

Anyone who returns a phone because of the COLOR....needs more impt things in his/her life. White one is ugly any way....

The only question I have is, if you wanted a white iPhone, why did you bother getting the black in the first place?
