Disappointed...mad...same difference.
You're consumed with nitpickyness. :D

So, hmm, do I follow you correctly? I'm disappointed, mad, nitpicky? When will I ever be satisfied, I wonder. Hmm. I'll have to think about that. I have such high expectations that I...wait a minute....a call's coming in, hang on.... "hello? yeah, it's me... how are you? ......hello? ............are you there, hello? Damn, lost signal again."

Nice. One of out 1,000 people with complaints actually returned the phone.

That 0.1% return rate is probably why Apple wont recall or acknowledge w
wrongdoing.

So those who are plagued with this problem will have to sit this version out and wait until next year.

By the way, your signature SCREAMS Apple Fanboy and status-attained-by-announcing-possessions....loving that...

Those of you waiting for a fix, don't hold your breath. This is probably the phone as is for the next year. Apple says no reception issue, if they begin manufacture with a non- conductive coating, it says we made a mistake and all early units were in fact defective even though we said they were not and they would have to replace all early units. Maybe a software fix, but prob a hardware problem.

Apple has not had an easy time breaking into the buisiness world where blackberries rule, the 3GS began to do this but if ip4 really has problems, mine does not drop calls, then corporations are not going to use apple products. But Steve has said no issue don't do not expect much of a backtracked statement if u don't like the reception, take it back but quit crying about it.
"are you crying"
"There is no crying @ Mac rumors"

Forget that.

Due to the nature of the problem, you are perfectly within your legal rights to return the product outside of the 14 day window under UK law.

The product isn't fit for purpose if you can't use it in the way that it is intended to be used.

Devils Advocate Mode On

You can make full use of it as long as your don't block the antenna, just like hundreds of phones before (and after) the iPhone 4.

Devils Advocate Mode Off

My advice would be to decide within the 14 days.

Kev

Apple gives you 30 days on the iPhone

and yes I will be returning my 16gb iPhone 4...

for a new 32 gb iPhone 4:D This phone is fricken sweet! <3:apple:

I am still confused by this. My receipt shows a 14 day return policy. How are people getting the 30 day return policy. Is that through apple.com, as opposed to the retail stores?

Return it

If there is no real fix within my 30 days, I will return it, no question about it.

UPS is picking up my gf's phone tomorrow morning. If i get the deal on a White 3GS i'm currently looking at then i'll return mine too

I just returned my iPhone 4 and now back on my iPhone 3G. Kinda bummed but it makes more sense to me than to be locked into a 2 year contract with an intermittent phone.

Curious, given the abundance of complaints for various reasons, has anyone actually returned their iPhone 4? Not exchange for a replacement, but actually returned it for good given the massive problems they have suffered through.

Or are there folks just waiting for the "fix" first? I think actual returns are a good proxy for actual unhappiness with a product.

Oh, and post receipt or "it didn't happen".

Thanks.

LOL!!! this is so true. They just want their 5 minutes of macrumors fame.

Yes, and I went back to a new 32GB 3GS and couldn't be happier. All the antenna reception issues that you've heard of are true. WAY less comfortable to hold. Constantly afraid you're going to break it. Slides off of any remotely diagonal or angled surface due to new glass back. Push notification for email consistently fails. EMails that are marked as read are not marked as read. Sensor by the earpiece SUCKS - consistently comes back on when the phone is next to your face and you're engaged in a call so you're accidentally putting caller on hold, on speaker, pulling up contacts, beeping numbers in their ear, etc.. Steve Jobs' crappy and curt "Non-issue" reply. FaceTime will only work over WiFi. Pages take longer to render. Loses connection with Bluetooth devices you've used forever. Keyboard click sounds just suddenly stop working. Some people got volume buttons swapped. Some people report yellow discoloration on the screen. You need to invest in a case so you can actually use it as a phone - and for the first time ever, Apple has released its very own bumper case. How convenient!

GORGEOUS phone...remarkably ineffective. This does not "change everything all over again," so bub-bye.

***Clap clap clap clap clap***

I'm getting very ornary w/ my phone at the moment.

I deactivated the sim on my iP4 and re-activated my trusty old 3GS (which thankfully I had not yet gotten around to selling). It hurts to go back to the low-res screen, but with the 3G dropouts, the 4 was no longer a functioning phone for me. If there is a fix announced within 30 days, I will re-activate the 4. Otherwise, I'll return it and wait for the 5.

iPhone 4, I wanted so badly to love you, but you made it too hard. :(

LOL. Only one person posted proof. Sounds like people are willing to put up with the non-issue or move their hand 1/2 inch.

Return Questions

Had some return questions due to the issues (signal and non-working 3g data) I am having

1) I have 14 days to return it correct for a full refund? I had bought from Apple store on launch day as a walk in
2) What is this 30 day I hear about?
3) I will not have to pay restocking fee of 10% right?
4) I will not have to pay the ETF, nor will I be tied to the new contract right?
5) My contract will revert back to the same terms I had, in other words it will expire in August at which point I go month to month right?

Thanks for the clarification:)

If I return my iPhone 4 for a full refund...

What happens to my new two year contract?

It goes back to your previous 2 year contract and resumes from where you left it off when you got your iPhone 4.

Would we still be upgrade "eligible" to purchase a iPhone 4 down the line at the discount price? I was looking to return and purchase a white one once theyre out, but afraid they'll take away my eligibility once I'm reverted back to my old 3GS contract which had a year left.

I would like to know this, too. I wanted to return my black iPhone and wait for the white one.

Return/Exchange without restocking fee?

In the new press release apple has been claiming that we can return the phone after the software release if we are still not happy for a "full refund".

Does this mean we don't have to pay a 10% restocking fee?
Will my contract from at&t change so that it's no longer extended by 2 years?

Also if I wanted to keep exchanging it till i got a model that won't drop signal when holding it (people keep claiming to have these) will i get a new 30 days for each exchange?

Thanks!

can we return it to at&t for a full refund as well, without the $35 restocking fee?
