I have had an iPhone since the 2007. I have yet to drop it (first gen, 3g, 3gs and 4). I haven't had a difficult time holding onto my phone. If that means you have to be careful, be careful, as one should with an expensive item made of glass. That would be like people getting pissed when their car gets dents after running into something. The only solution to not getting dents is not running into things.
So you sir, give me a break.
Oh please, dropping a phone is a lot easier than driving a car into something.. talk about a fallacious argument.. geez. I'm not a phone dropper, I have had it slide out of my pocket (iphone 2g) at which point I decided i better get a case. The iphone 4 is much more slippery than the 2g, and slimmer.. there are so many variables involved in how phones get dropped, but it happens all the time - way more than car accidents. Furthermore, since we have to hold the phone a certain way (that may not work for everyone) in order to avoid signal drop, the chances of dropping it are even higher. The bottom line, comments like 'take better care of your stuff' or 'don't drop your phone then' are moronic. Accidents happen.
A guy just flubbed his $2000 Leica X1 to the floor removing it from the case - should we call him a moron or a klutz? No, **** happens.
To the OP, good for you to return it if you don't want it. I'll be waiting another 2.5 weeks to make that decision.
