What everyone else said positive AND the watch never ceases to make me explore new ways of: doing things, measuring things, and knowing things. Just when I think I have figured it out...I get a nice surprise: there is something new.

The heart rate monitor is wonderful in liberating me from my old chest strap, AppleWatch is a tough task master in terms of working out (no your resting calories don't count toward exercise because they are not exercise), I now get warned "Rain! Starting in 10 minutes.", lots of timers/alarms, phone calls come in through my watch, I can message people with my voice (and the accuracy of voice recognition is stunning), and moar.

I really like the taptic features of the watch. I just bought a pair of Bluebuds X to go with the watch and was listening to music this afternoon at work. Because the earbuds are noise canceling it was very odd to do things like walk around and NOT hear the people talking in the room much, or snap my fingers next to my ears and hear nothing. In fact, I'm a bit worried I may miss pages and my desk phone ringing!

And, while I was wondering if I was going to miss anything important, my watch magically tapped my wrist with a notification of a message. :) It was yet another wonderful reason I'm keeping the watch. It's like it's a kind gatekeeper to your attention and taps you gently to alert you to someone's attempt to communicate. I fear that without the watch, I would be missing some messages that I simply would NOT hear a verbal ding notification for on my iPhone.

Which app do you use that notifies you of rain?

How's the effect of music playing on your battery life?

How's the effect of music playing on your battery life?

I was surprised at how little effect listening to music has on the battery. I listened to music for an hour using my blue-tooth headphones and burned about 5-6 % of the battery. I went from 100% to 91% in that hour, but I typically burn about 3-5% per hour with normal notifications and quick responses/checking time/reminders/timers, etc.

I suppose I'm now another one who just upgraded to the SS version, after owning a sport.

I do notice the display being slightly harder to read in sunlight, but the watch feels much nicer. I like the added weight, and the crown feels more solid.

All together worth it, I think (now that I know I actually have a use for it).

This is what settled discussions with my wife on whether to get the AW, months ago.

There is only one reason: "Whenever you call or text me, I will respond to you."

That ended any further discussions and I was even encouraged.

I have kept my promise.

Very easily.

In that case, I definitely need to get one for my wife. Her phone is always in vibrate mode at the bottom of her purse.

I love the watch. Those that are complaining were expecting the next iPod, iPad, or even iPhone. As shown in the name, this is not another i device. This is plain and simple a nice, good looking luxury watch that has other features such as music control, notifications, health data, and fitness tracking ON TOP of the basic watch features

I'm not a very socially active person. I don't have a gazillion friends I need to talk to on a daily basis- nor do I even have that many people I message. So, it's really rare for me to get a phone call or a message. I hate missing those rare calls. My phone ringer is usually turned off even. BUT, having taptic notifications is really wonderful because I don't miss much anymore when there's a tap on my wrist instead of some vibrating on a phone that's not even in my pocket.

I love my watch to death, even after the "new gadget effect" has worn off. I'm more connected with what's going on AND using my phone much much less. I can read and respond to texts with no effort and I can see how bad the Braves are getting beat with a flick of the wrist:(. Music control is miles better than Pebble and Android Wear (I can start a shuffled playlist from my watch! Is that so much to ask for Google?) Battery life is good enough that I don't have to worry about it at all.

It does everything I want my smartwatch to do and then some. Can't wait to see how this new tech grows, both Apple and competitors.

I will join in on this thread here. I admit I was a sceptic. I wasn't sure I wanted it. Waited till it was available to buy in the Apple stores. I already have a Pebble and Pebble steel as well as did have a Moto 360 and have a LG G watch R. I like smart watches, but kinda thought Apple's watch was not going to add anything different that these other ones did not already do for me.

Boy was I wrong. One app actually did it for me. Fitness Builder. I always use this to work out in the gym and I always kept thinking that this app would be amazing if I could have it on my watch. I wouldn't have to pull out my phone for each set to enter in my info and use the stop watch etc....Low and behold, they made it work with the Apple watch and it is AMAZING! Does just what I wanted it to do and my phone can stay put away.

That and pretty much everything else already mentioned here is what sold me on this product. I am sitting her now missing my watch being on me because I am updating my phone right now to ios 9 public beta and have my LG Gwatch R on instead (using with my Android phone). Now it is just meh....

I'm keeping mine as well. I have the Apple Watch with Milanese Loop, 42mm. The looks are top notch, and it works well. And whats even better is that the apps will be getting better later this year. The only concern in general is the price. But I'm very happy with my purchase.

I have no interest in getting an Apple Watch.

However, I'm pleased to see that the few people on this thread are happy with it.

Tinkering with gadgets can be fun, even if they're flawed.

They are the best flawed smartphone notification/extension/health device, with potential to grow exponentially when watchOS2 is out, available right now!
I could not see any device is better, and with additional feature add/upgradable through future OS, in the rear-view mirror.

watchOS make AW better, not the other way around.

Finally, a thread where I can shout I LOVE my watch. Some of the naysayer threads are simply pathetic, full of anti-Apple trolls. Biggest benefit: Not fishing for may phone all the time.

"The few"? "Flawed"? "Tinkering" "gadgets"? Your anti-watch bias is clearly showing!

I don't see it as a flawed gadget I'm tinkering with. It's a great watch that does a whole lot more than keep time. I'm not "tinkering" with it. I'm USING it and BENEFITING from wearing it on my wrist. And I'm really ENJOYING the use and benefits it brings. That's not what a flawed gadget for tinkering with brings!

Edit: I do see room for improvements and am hoping we will see added benefits with future watchOS updates. So, while I do think we are not "tinkering" with our watches, i do feel a little bit like a guinea pig using one.
