"The few"? "Flawed"? "Tinkering" "gadgets"? Your anti-watch bias is clearly showing!

I don't see it as a flawed gadget I'm tinkering with. It's a great watch that does a whole lot more than keep time. I'm not "tinkering" with it. I'm USING it and BENEFITING from wearing it on my wrist. And I'm really ENJOYING the use and benefits it brings. That's not what a flawed gadget for tinkering with brings!

Edit: I do see room for improvements and am hoping we will see added benefits with future watchOS updates. So, while I do think we are not "tinkering" with our watches, i do feel a little bit like a guinea pig using one.

Don't feed the trolls..he owns a pebble..

I will join in on this thread here. I admit I was a sceptic. I wasn't sure I wanted it. Waited till it was available to buy in the Apple stores. I already have a Pebble and Pebble steel as well as did have a Moto 360 and have a LG G watch R. I like smart watches, but kinda thought Apple's watch was not going to add anything different that these other ones did not already do for me.

Boy was I wrong. One app actually did it for me. Fitness Builder. I always use this to work out in the gym and I always kept thinking that this app would be amazing if I could have it on my watch. I wouldn't have to pull out my phone for each set to enter in my info and use the stop watch etc....Low and behold, they made it work with the Apple watch and it is AMAZING! Does just what I wanted it to do and my phone can stay put away.

That and pretty much everything else already mentioned here is what sold me on this product. I am sitting her now missing my watch being on me because I am updating my phone right now to ios 9 public beta and have my LG Gwatch R on instead (using with my Android phone). Now it is just meh....
Another Fitness Builder user... I have used the app for years now and when they upgraded the version last year, I was a little skeptical but after a while, I got use to it and love it. Best workout app that I have ever used and so easy to use.

It does one thing bad... the stats for your information. It doesn't ask for height but pretty much everything else you could measure. It then translate that to the Health App and is way too high for the resting calories.

Highly recommend Fitness Builder!

If Apple brought out a hybrid round mechanical watch with a digital overlay, I might consider it.

Mr. Frost can start a new thread "waiting for a hybrid round mechanical watch with a digital overlay - maybe" and we can get back to talking about how much we like our watches.

I can't imagine not wearing the watch as I would miss the messaging, fitness tracking, and clock functionality too much.

Just trying to be positive. :(

I am another keeper and I love it. I do not text alot of people nor carry my phone glued to my face like 90% of all the people I know...But I like to glance at incoming email and messages and decide if the individual is worthy of my responce or not :)

How did you get to do that? Walk into an apple store/call them and just ask for it to be re-flashed?
Call customer service.

I asked them to restore my software and they agreed to it without any question and sent me an empty box with a prepaid label to ship it to them in. The whole process took 3 days, they were very quick. Not sure why they sent me a new one instead of just restoring mine.

After wearing one for a while, what kind of improvements do you wish to see in future updates? (obviously not counting watchOS2)

I like mine especially around the house. I didn't think that would be the case. I can leave my phone plugged in in one room and then go anywhere I like without missing a call or an imessage from my wife. I regularly set reminders and timers. I also use it to play music through my Apple HiFi in a couple of rooms (although it's a bit flaky with apple music right now). I have not used it much in a city, so not used the maps. I like it in the car too where I can change music using siri and play though bluetooth - which is pretty seamless. I play tennis a few times a week, so I use it for that and it's good because my wife knows if I am on-court she can still message me and i'll get it (it holds a connection across three indoor tennis courts no problem). Some things annoy me, but not many. I've just loaded up my RBS card for Apple pay in the UK, so that's another cool thing I can now use. So, overall pretty damn happy.

I expected to find it interesting for a few weeks then lose interest (as I did with the pebble), but so far am loving my apple watch and really can't imagine not having one now.

While not perfect (I still use mapmyrun on the phone simulateous with the workout app on the watch) I enjoy using the activity side of the watch. It has got me doing more exercise which has to be a good thing. I love the ability to respond to text messages, and Siri works much better than I expected. Plus it looks great and notifications work really well.

Overall for a first gen product I am very impressed.

To me it is a keeper.
The fact that I now have my 6+ in my messenger bag most of the day is reason enough for me.

Every time most people gets a text or a phone call, they seem to always do the "rounds" on their usual sites and apps at the same time.
A ridiculous waste of time.

Not to mention how idiotic it looks.

Yeah, it's kind of funny how this small device has managed to cut down the amount of time I use my other devices! It is all to easy, when you have am iMessage to respond to on your iPad or phone, to de ide to check your email...and hit that link...then before you know it you're hunting for something on Amazon.

I have less interaction with the Interweb since getting the watch.

This was always the point I wish Apple pushed more. They hit the fitness features well and I find their advertising on them to be pretty spot on. But, so far, only one ad about actually having human interaction again because your phone is in your bag or pocket rather than your hand? It's a huge deal.

with my other watches, the first thing I would do when I got home would be to take off my watch. and if I was not leaving the house on the weekend.... I would NOT put on my watch. so I was concerned about having my watch on all the time.... not an issue at all! for the short time it's off when topping off the charge after my workout in the morning... I miss it!

I wear mine around the house too. I like, in particular, to wear it on the weekends around the house as I do chores. This weekend I spent time digging holes for plants and posts in the yard...my watch, appropriately, measured it as exercise.

I've only recently noticed that I do the same thing.

With my wife out of town on vacation, I get bored easier (a LOT easier!) and find myself pulling out my phone every time I'm standing in line or just waiting for something.

I'll think, "Hey, I remember that article I bookmarked, I should read it some more…" and before I know it, I've passed two more levels of Candy Crush, skimmed through six feet of posts on Facebook, and checked forum posts via Tapatalk. AND I FORGOT TO READ THE ARTICLE ANYWAY.

I don't have an AW yet, but I hope I get my attention span back once I do.
