I feel like I subconsciously move more knowing the watch is always watching. And to think that for the first few weeks I had actually disabled all fitness functions. How dumb of me!

What a refreshing change. A thread about owners who like their watch and aren't sending it back, or complaining that it is scratched.

There are PLENTY of us out here. I'm really liking my watch. Can't wait to be able to put some new bands on it this week. One of the reasons I like the watch is because I CAN customize it to make it feel right for me. And, I can change the way it looks by swapping out different bands...or modify the watch face to change it to fit my latest mood or needs.

Being able to change it frequently makes the watch less boring and allows me to keep more of a running interest in it. I can see how it could become a hobby for many people. And, I hope that when WatchOS 2 comes out it give us even greater control.

what bands did you get? I'm pondering picking up some faux leather bands, but they don't have any reviews yet. :)

It's just so nice!

I got a tungsten band from ANDROID-USA that has yet to be mounted to the watch (awaiting some Utica adapters).

I also got a leather band from BlackForestAtelier on Etsy. You can find pics of both bands in the apple watch accessories forum.

I only have my Watch one day and I already absolutely love it! Everyone in my environment is so amazed by the fact that you can make and receive phone calls with it! Awesome.

I work at a job where I can't always access my phone or pull it out of my pocket to reply to text messages or see who's calling. If I'm in a meeting and my phone rings I can look at my watch, see who's calling and then if the call is important I can excuse myself from the meeting and return said call immediately or let it go to voicemail. If my wife or employer attempts to text or call while I'm away from the office working on a project my watch will alert me to it immediately. Most times I'm in a work situation where my phone must remain on vibrate and if my phone is in my pocket I may not feel the vibration alerting me to a call, thereby missing it. Its a bad look when meeting with a client my phone starts ringing in the midst of conversation, that's why I have it set to vibrate. My watch also enables me to check my daily schedule, the weather, sports scores and do so much more all without having to pull my phone out of my pocket to do these things. Not to mention I can use the watch to take phone calls if need be. To each their own, but I love my Apple Watch and to me its worth every penny paid for it.

I was on the fence due to the negative articles. Got a bonus at work and decided to try it. 42 SGS and i freaking love it. The fitness rings and work out options are awesome and I need to close them everyday, which is a challenge on weekends. Messsages, email, weather, stocks, bible verse, heart rate all are so great on the AW. Can't wait for 2.0.

The downside is that my iphone gets so little use that I forget to charge it!

I'm a preschool teacher, who can't be on my phone during work. But I needed a watch so I used my oldest son's Pebble. It was great. Love the concept of little bites of info right in your wrist. And being able to control music on your phone through your watch is a huge advantage!
my younger son is a Best Buy Microsoft expert and bought the Apple Watch at launch. He recenly bought the Microsoft band and sold me his AW. I love it. I have the white band on for now. I love having everything I need right there. With the notifications, I'm actually on my phone less, which is awesome. I love the fitness and activities features. I'm paying more attention to how much I move and exercise. Petty, I know, but I love the apple experience. The pebble was good, but the Apple Watch has more of what I need. I'm loving my watch.

Grace,
I find that it's a lot of really little, petty things that make the watch so great. It's not a ground-shattering device in how it alters my day to day activity, it just seems to constantly better and make so many activities a bit easier.
Glad you're enjoying yours!

Loving my Apple Watch the last 2 days!
On a business trip in Paris and it's been indispensable for navigating around the city.
The discreet taps for left and right have got me to my destinations with no problems leaving me free to enjoy the walk around this stunning city!
Also the Eurostar passbook tickets have worked well. It seems so old fashioned seeing my fellow travellers with 'printed at home' paper tickets!

I can not ONLY tell time with it simply by raising my wrist upward but it alerts me when people are trying to message me and I feel a lot less tethered to my phone or iPad.

I also can tell the temperature outside before I head out the door.

It reminds me before I leave out the door of any events impending for the day.

And so much more. So, enough of the naysayers, how about you? If you like your apple watch and are planning on keeping it, share your reasons for doing so. (Naysayers, there's a different thread for you too, but please try to keep this thread focussed on the reasons those of us who are enjoying our watches are keeping them.)
I am keeping my watch, otherwise I would not have bought it in the first place. America is such a wonderful country that you can buy something, and then return it for no reason. Some people just do this, and that's ok. Apple is such a polarizing brand, and I believe that these (haters) didn't like it to begin with, bought it, and then hated on it after successfully returning it. People are strange, but this is not uncommon....

I received my watch just a few days after launch. I have not been disappointed as it has performed as Apple told me it would. I had no high, lofty expectations and I am satisfied with my purchase. This is a new category for Apple and I believe once OS2 hits, this will really seal the deal.
For those naysayers, I respect your opinions, but as anyone else would say, you have an option to purchase what you what, but don't knock us that have made our own personal decision and are satisfied with it.

I was very anti the Apple Watch when first reports came though. It seemed like a bit of a pointless device, with a low battery life and with it not being waterproof and being very limited in what it can do. However, I was very curious about it, and checked it carefully. The more I checked it out, the more I realised that for me it was going to be well worth getting.

I ended up buying the SS with the sport band, and have third party bands on the way. I've only had mine a short time, but I absolutely love it. I am a very scheduled person, and run my life to a calendar. One thing that has always annoyed me is that I kept missing calendar notifications from my phone and as a result would regularly end up going off schedule. In a quiet environment phone notifications were fine, but when outside they were just too quiet. The watch completely changes that; now when I get a notification I get a buzz on my wrist, they are almost impossible to miss, and completely discrete (with the sound off). On top of that, I am using the calendar complication on the utility watch face, so I can see what is on my schedule, and what is coming up at a quick glance. The time travel function in Watch OS 2 is going to make this feature even better. I can openly say that my productivity since getting the watch has skyrocketed, making it more than worthwhile.

Personally, I'm very impressed with the watch, though I openly admit it is not for everyone. It DOES have limited functionality, and for many people the functions it has will not be enough to make it worthwhile. But for me, it performs a vital function and it does it REALLY well.

I like my AW watch so much I sold my Tag Carrera...I just didn't want to wear it anymore, felt very antiquated.

I sold many of my Swiss Mechanical watches before the Apple Watch was available knowing how good the Apple Watch will be. I guess I understand it and what its all about. I don't expect the battery to last 3 years FOR OBVIOUS REASONS, and don't expect it to include a DVD drive and include everything an iPhone, iPad and mac offers. I also know that watches scratch and now that my watch has a few scratches I won't start threads titled (scratchgate)

The Apple Watch is a magnificent watch for telling the time + everything else it does and will do in future

I still have a couple more mechanical watches I want to sell. Its sad for me because I have enjoyed wearing and collecting mechanical watches. From now on its just the Apple Watch for me and will only keep one mechanical watch although I don't think I will ever wear it again.

3 months on and I still love my watch.

I think the main ways I use my watch are :

Notifications
Emails
Time keeping
Unlocking my MacBook Air
Activity monitoring
Playing music on both my phone and apple watch
Checking the weather
Stop watch/timer - taking vital observations at work (I'm a nurse)
Setting reminders and alarms from my wrist (via siri)
Pinging my iPhone when I can't find it

Once my bank supports apple pay I suspect that I'll use it to make payments. I already use it to pay in places like Starbucks.

I find the notification aspect of it most useful. My phone is often at the bottom of my handbag and without my watch I miss a lot of notifications because I don't hear them. It's also good for managing phone calls. I don't often take calls on the watch but it good for triaging my calls. That way I can instantly know who is calling and then I know if I want to get my phone out of my bag to answer the call, let it ring or send it straight to voicemail.

Watch OS2 sounds really good and I expect that it to be even more useful. I've worn my watch every day since launch day. I've never forgotten it. It's became part of my set up/life now.

If I could add one thing it would be support for what's app. My boyfriend use an android phone and we communicate through that. My cousin has also gone to teach in Thailand and we have a family thread set up on what's app where we all stay in touch. I get notifications from of my what's app messages but I still have to pull out my phone to respond. It would be nice if I could respond directly on my watch like I can do when I get an iMessage.

Utility aside I also love the fashion aspect of my watch. I love switching out my watch bands to coordinate with what I'm wearing. I've bought 4 extra bands so far and I intend to buy more. I just hope that the bands are compatible with future versions of the watch.

I'm under a week in, but so far I have really enjoyed the watch, no buyers remorse at all.
Whats funny is the green sports band feels and fits better then the supplied black sports band.

What I like,
Notifications,
Emails
weather.
Stop watch
Finding my phone that I seem to lose.

I think coming from a Fitbit Surge, the workout app and activity monitor are inferior to what I had on the Surge. I think Apple could have done a much better job with both apps.

I also think its odd how the iPhone activity monitor that I now have to display my information from the watch differs from the health app. That is the health app does not take into account when i'm walking, that I have my watch on and it should not count steps from the iPhone. It really needs to do a better job to synchronize the information imo.

Edit:
The only thing I do and will miss is the opportunity to switch phones, I love to try different phones, I have an iPhone and a windows phone currently. With the  watch, I'm basically locked into the ecosystem which of course is primarily what apple wanted ;)

I have been a Casio Protrek user for about 10 years. Love it for all the stuff it does when I am outdoors, compass, temp, altitude, barometer, etc. good information to have on your wrist for things you *want to do every day* but can't. What I love about my Apple Watch is that it fits my day to day needs, workout progress, calendar reminders, text notifications, email notifications, weather/temp, i.e., the things I *do everyday*. Do I switch to my Casio? Yes but only when I need a function that I can't get from my A.W.. How often is that? Rare.
The biggest difference aside from function is weight. I barely notice that I am wearing my A.W., until it taps me on the wrist. Awesome.
Looking forward to WOS-2....
