Looks like I'll be doing a pre-order this year. Likely the same technique as always, ordering through my carrier (Verizon) full price to keep my grandfathered unlimited data plan.
Does anyone have any experience ordering on pre-order day with an international credit card? Does the online store allow this? I thought maybe, in case it didn't work out, I'd get a gift card with the amount of the iPhone I'd like and use that to pre-order. Does anyone know if I would have a problem with either of these scenarios?
I'd still be shipping the iPhone to a US address.
I take it you haven't updated to 8.4.1 then.
Whats the best way to get the app set up?
Add my credit card to the Apple Store App well in advance? I'm still running jailbroken 8.4, would it be better updating? Toying with the idea of going to iOS 9 beta.
When it goes live, will it suddenly just appear in the app, or will I have to repeatedly open and close the app to get it to refresh?
Cheers
Stewart
Does that have any bearing on the ability of my iPad Air to use Apple Pay? It has no Touch ID sensor, so I see no reason it would be able to. I'm presuming you thought I meant I had an Air 2?![]()
I've not tried it on my iPad Air 2 but Apple Pay on the iPad is for online purchases only as you can't use it in store so I would imagine touch ID is not necessary. I could be mistaken but it should work on any iPad.
Ah, I think we're talking about doing two different things. You can use Apple Pay to pay instantly with Touch ID on the iPad Air 2 (or any other Touch ID device), but on non-Apple Pay devices, you pay with your Apple ID and password, which uses the card currently on file for your Apple Store payments. Doesn't use the Apple Pay token system and isn't as quick because you have to actually type your password in, but has the same net effect
With an Apple Pay device, you can use it to pay in many different apps that support it, but on older devices, you can only use your Apple ID to pay within the Apple Store app.
Each country has it's own online store. I am assuming because you're having it shipped to the US that's where you live. If that is the case and you have a US credit card and Apple store account why not just access the US store from where ever you are and purchase it on there.
I don´t live in the US, I live in Argentina, where apple has no retail stores (just a bunch of authorised resellers).
So it sounds like the Apple Store App is the best way to pre-order then? Ipad?
That would be my suggestionSo it sounds like the Apple Store App is the best way to pre-order then? Ipad?
can u add apple store gift cards in the app?
As far as I'm aware no. At least that is what people have said here in other threads when discussing preorders last year for the phone. I believe you have to use the online web based store for them.
I wonder how many At&t customers who had grandfathered contracts, and such, are going to do this time around. I would rather have an unlocked version and keep what I have. May have to go with that Next Plan, thing.
