Looks like I'll be doing a pre-order this year. Likely the same technique as always, ordering through my carrier (Verizon) full price to keep my grandfathered unlimited data plan.

Does anyone have any experience ordering on pre-order day with an international credit card? Does the online store allow this? I thought maybe, in case it didn't work out, I'd get a gift card with the amount of the iPhone I'd like and use that to pre-order. Does anyone know if I would have a problem with either of these scenarios?
I'd still be shipping the iPhone to a US address.

Each country has it's own online store. I am assuming because you're having it shipped to the US that's where you live. If that is the case and you have a US credit card and Apple store account why not just access the US store from where ever you are and purchase it on there.

Whats the best way to get the app set up?

Add my credit card to the Apple Store App well in advance? I'm still running jailbroken 8.4, would it be better updating? Toying with the idea of going to iOS 9 beta.

When it goes live, will it suddenly just appear in the app, or will I have to repeatedly open and close the app to get it to refresh?

Cheers

Hopefully now that just about all the US carriers have ended subsidies, Apple will allow preorders on its website using T-Mobile financing. Trying to order one through T-Mobile was so annoying and slow last year.

Thinking of dropping down from the 6 Plus size and getting a Gold or Space Gray iPhone 6S 64GB.

I take it you haven't updated to 8.4.1 then.

Does that have any bearing on the ability of my iPad Air to use Apple Pay? It has no Touch ID sensor, so I see no reason it would be able to. I'm presuming you thought I meant I had an Air 2? :)

I can't speak for the jail broken or beta stuff but as far as your card goes if it's already set up on the online store then it will already be accessible in the app as long as you're using the same Apple ID. You might want to go to your account details on the web site and turn on one click to make the purchasing quicker. You will still need to enter the 3 digit security code on the back of your card when purchasing but it will be quicker. You may well need to open, close and re-open the app as there is no way to refresh it otherwise.

I've not tried it on my iPad Air 2 but Apple Pay on the iPad is for online purchases only as you can't use it in store so I would imagine touch ID is not necessary. I could be mistaken but it should work on any iPad.

Ah, I think we're talking about doing two different things. You can use Apple Pay to pay instantly with Touch ID on the iPad Air 2 (or any other Touch ID device), but on non-Apple Pay devices, you pay with your Apple ID and password, which uses the card currently on file for your Apple Store payments. Doesn't use the Apple Pay token system and isn't as quick because you have to actually type your password in, but has the same net effect :)

With an Apple Pay device, you can use it to pay in many different apps that support it, but on older devices, you can only use your Apple ID to pay within the Apple Store app.

Ah right. That makes sense. I don't have Apple Pay set up on my iPad at the moment but I have made a few purchases on my phone online and I probably had to authorise them with the touch ID just like in iTunes and the App store. I don't really remember to be honest.

Hopefully I can preorder on the 11th. My Verizon upgrade isn't until a week and a half later on the 22nd. I guess if they won't give it to me 11 days early, I'll have to order it 4 days later on the 15th (7 days early)

I just hope it won't be backordered 1-2 months in 4 days :(

I don´t live in the US, I live in Argentina, where apple has no retail stores (just a bunch of authorised resellers).

I was referring to the online store. That said it's unlikely Argentina will be in the first batch of countries. If you're planning on logging on on to the US online store and having it shipped to the US I don't see why a foreign credit card won't work. I'm sure it's been mentioned on these forums in the past that they will work.

As far as I'm aware no. At least that is what people have said here in other threads when discussing preorders last year for the phone. I believe you have to use the online web based store for them.

That sucks. Well looks like I'll be hammering the website then

Still torn between the 6s and the 6s+ like many others. I have the 6 now and something a little bigger would be nice, but who knows. I wonder if there will be a compelling reason to get the 6s+ over the 6s, something like multitasking would be great. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I wonder how many At&t customers who had grandfathered contracts, and such, are going to do this time around. I would rather have an unlocked version and keep what I have. May have to go with that Next Plan, thing.

Grandfathered plan and going to get the 6s Plus in 64 GB or 128 GB but not sure about the color. I'll wait to see what is available in the model I want. Yes, I prefer another 2 year contract.

just logged in this morning to my AT&T account, and they've updated the ordering options for new phones. Now they list either the Next plans, the 2 year Contract, or buying the phone outright, so it looks promising to get another 2 year contract online!

Does anyone know of you can implement Verizon edge through apple or do I have to go to Verizon?

PS is it me or does anyone else's current phone towards launch of new iPhone start acting funny? (Battery draining quicker etc) or is it just me finding any reason to get the new one lol

It's a shame apple doesn't yet have the app available on android! As a switcher I'll be doing what I can on the web ui (from android or windows)... Already created I'd/setup cc.

Slate grey 6s plus for me. Still considering 64 vs 128. Former should be fine especially as I mostly stream but 128 would be a no regret apart from being poor option

Hi guys, I live in Brazil but my sister in Chicago. What better way to buy a iPhone 6S? By Store app (allows purchases outside the US?) and send to her house, or getting in line at a store on 18th?
