Thank you! I would love to see an Android subforum on here. As much as I like reading all sorts of different tech news, I would like the iPhone section to be an iPhone section once more. Thanks for looking into it!
Since this is MacRumors and there are tons of Andriod forums out there. MR should make a sub forum for iphone vs other smartphone sub forum rather than just an Andriod forum. I believe all the Andriod related threads in MR is about how people switched to Andriod,etc.
You'd just be encouraging those people to spill their nonsense over into the iPhone forum once they realize their troll threads are not getting any attention. How many android forums feature an Apple section? Phandroid sure as hell doesn't, and if you troll the android phone section you'll be banned quick fast.
It's a big forum with areas for all Apple products. If you don't have an iPhone you have no business trolling the iPhone section period.
You have absolutely no right to troll even if you have an iPhone. You are free to express your opinion, whether it's pro or anti-Apple, as long as you stay within the rules. We don't punish people just because they have an unpopular opinion, which can as well be pro-Android or pro-Apple. There are a couple of things that people often seem to forget:
1. Not all members discussing Android are trolls. Just because you discuss Android in an Apple related (not exclusive) forum does not make you a troll.
2. Pro-Apple trolls will be treated equally with all other trolls. We have banned pro-Apple users in the past and will continue to do so.
This is absolutely true - trolling can be found on both sides of the fence, and it's not allowed here under any circumstances. A lot of the time the problem is actually caused by members posting off-topic comments in threads they're not interested in. Comments like "why are you posting this on an Apple forum?" cause every bit as much work for the moderators, and ruin what could have been good discussions because they only serve to irritate other members. That's also a form of trolling
But as has been said several times in this thread, we are working on some changes. It takes time, because a change in the forum always brings up other details that need to be resolved before the change can go live. So please, just give us a bit more time - things are in the works.
