Destroyed Both partitions (The hidden one and the windows one), and repartitioned it using Disk Util. 1 partition of GUID type (Not Master Boot). Left vanilla kernel, couldn't work out what chipset driver to use (None said for 945PM), and selected the video one for my 7400.
Installing now. Last few installs failed :/
Tried F12, booted from it, hung on the apple logo with the box with the thing through it.
Read through the installation notes, vanilla kernel is default so i found myself repeating the same steps as above cause nothing could change.
Installed it (again), sucessful, rebooted with disk, nothing, this time booted with verbose using F12 as nothing appeared with the cd in.
Hung repeating these lines
*Still waiting for root device*
*Still waiting for root device*
*Still waiting for root device*
*Still waiting for root device*
Said that a few times so i just imagine thats where it would hang.

I am getting the itch to build another Hackintosh. A mobo that looks good is the Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3L.
Maybe I should wait a bit to see how the mobo with the integrated GeForce 9300 works out as a Hackintosh. Sound and LAN are no problem, but the graphics driver is needed. Has anyone heard anything about that? Since it is such a new integrated technology, it will take time, but no doubt, we will get it figured out.
I know, I want to build one for everyone. I just like doing it![]()
How is the new GPU working out? Since I do not game, your original GPU type would probably work for me.
For what I do, I cannot see any difference between my integrated graphics GMA950 and my GeForce 8400M GS even though the 3D rating is 476 compared to 2655 for the 8400.
It comes in the mail today, so I'll post the results.
My integrated graphics card only gave me one (low) resolution. The 7200GS gave me a bunch of resolutions because it has more support.
BTW, I'll sell my 7200GS (with box and CD) for 40 bucks shipped if anyone is interested! (48 states)
FYI, New Egg has such a card for $29.99 with a rebate of $20 for a net price of $9.99. I am not sure if I should get one of those or the 8800GS.
Overall, I would prefer to make my next build with the integrated GeForce 9300. Maybe I should just go ahead and build that and load XP on it and play around to see if I can Hackintosh it.
Just thought I'd chime in here. I have two Hack systems right now. I've used Kalyway in the past but both of these systems are running iDeneb 1.3. Here are the specs.
Hack Pro
Q6600 @ 3.7GHz on air
GA-P35-DS3L
G.Skill 8GBs DDR2 800 (2GBx4)
MSI OC 8800GTX 768MB
Geekbench 2: 8122
Xbench (no disk): 336.36
iHack
E6300 @ 3.01GHz on air
GA-EP35-DS3R
G.Skill 4GBs DDR2 800 (2GBx2)
EVGA 8600GT 256MB
How long did it take to download iDeneb? How is it working?
Well, I'm fortunate enough to have a FIOS 50/20 connection and usenet access so it takes me about 10 minutes. I usually get roughly 1GB/3min.
Took me 20 mins with usenet too, using news.astraweb.com account and AltBinz for my download client. Are there any usenet clients for Mac's?
Btw, only one out of my 3 DVD drives are working at the moment. Gunna do an Xbench on it in a sec to see how it goes, might even jack up the ram over the weekend![]()

Well, I put the 8800GS in, and it worked, but my system profiler claimed it was a 256MB card. I just ran EFIStudio for that card and rebooted. It now says 384MB, so that's good. When I played CS:S under windows XP I am now able to crank up the settings to MAXIMUM
The card is huge! At least twice the size of my 7200GS. I was worried for a minute that it wouldn't fit in my PowerMac case.
