So what're the chances of me phoning up the Nuneaton depot and saying "can I come and pick it up now?" - I know the status says it's 'In Transit' but that more than likely means it's in a van, ready to drive off through the night.

Appreciate the help pal, my consignment cant be found on that site....

Actually, I put a different number in, now its telling me its in Birmimgham...which ironically it means its driven past me in Nuneaton, from Syncreon in Hinckley, to Birmingham.

My status is that there was a discrepancy scan at Birmingham.....any ideas?

I'm another TNT customer with the mysterious 'Exception' message when I try to track my item.

The 'tracking number' on the shipment status page of my Apple Store account updated a few hours ago with a new number (805119XXX) which is at least being recognised by TNT.

Here's hoping for an update soon. My cheapo Smartcover from Amazon arrived today to tide me over until I can find a nicer case, and it needs an iPad to make it complete!

The number I was given on the automated service isn't even being accepted by the TNT website! At least the one in my original email is now showing up, even if it is as the elusive "Exemption".

Anyone have any clues?

You might need to click the radio button on the tracking page to change the default "consignment number" to "reference number" .... make sure you're checking the correct number.

Apparently, they're showing "exception" as TNT have approx 20,000 iPads to deliver tomorrow so they're processing basic details only to get everything on their system then they'll complete the delivery info ....

All that means they have balls'd up the scanning of the item and the items will be conveyed to local depots during the night ready for delivery in the morning.

Well thats the theory anyway

I doubt it's ballsed up.

I think they've ALL been collected from the Syncreon Hinckley depot, gathered at the UKMail Birmingham depot, ready to be dispatched across the UK to closer depots tonight for delivery tomorrow!

Simples!

Where did you get that information from out of interest? It's understandable if they are cutting a few corners as long as we all get a new shiny toy tomorrow!

My guess is that the 'exception' is that they're under STRICT orders from Head Office not to release any of the parcels from this account early.

Apple could be holding the delivery contract over their heads threatening to pull it if they find any early deliveries... I know they do the same to retail stores.

I had a close call as well, booked this week off to use a bit of holiday and forgot to book Friday off! (Not like me at all!)

Scrambled a last minute holiday, so ready to wait in all day if I have to tomorrow... I'll still be getting up at 8am just in case!!!

Phoned TNT and got straight through to a very helpful lady who gave me that exact info .... hopefully they'll deliver before 1pm 'cos I'm going on my hol's for a week :-/

Used the alternative business post link to get the extra tracking info, it says the ukmail delivery service is Premier 24. So hopefully it should arrive before noon as I have a lecture 12 til 3! :D

It's always exciting to have a new brand new toy delivered, but I think what makes this one extra-exciting is that usually we've all seen the pictures and videos of the new product in action, including what the new features are and how they work. In this case, however, none of us really have any idea what the screen will look like - you just can't demo it as it has to be seen in person. I can't wait to get my hands on it.

Pure genius.

Syncreon tracking is now showing my tracking history as:

16th March 2012 @ 07:08:52 -- HINCKLEY GB -- OUT FOR DELIVERY
15th March 2012 @ 09:49:56 -- BIRMINGHAM, ,GB -- ARRIVE TERMINAL
15th March 2012 @ 07:05:26 -- HINCKLEY GB -- SHIPMENT PICKUP
13th March 2012 @ 18:00:00 -- HINCKLEY GB -- ESTIMATED DELIVERY DATE

And there was me thinking it's still the 15th of March.

Just tracked mine on UPS, now says in Tamworth depot, for delivery 16 March, by end of the day.......

This is very true. Premier 24 is the service used by UKMail. That means pre-noon 'guaranteed' delivery at worst. UKMail also offer Premier 24 in pre-9am and pre-10:30am varieties.

Anyone's UPS details give any other info other than 'processed ready for UPS'? It says a shipping label has been created but still no estimate delivery date? Been like it all day.

Anyone else had luck with UPS? I normally get mine via TNT and they seem to be a lot better at providing tracking info!
