Stuck in Alaska?

Anyone elses shipment? It was updating regularly there and has now been stopped in Alaska for 3 days! I almost wish I didn't have the tracking info in the first place. :rolleyes:
 
Sitting in FedEx Middletown, PA location

Mine orders have been "Picked up" and remained at the FedEx Middletown, PA location since 10th, with future delivery requested, and delivery by 3pm Friday ;) I am staying home to sign for my new iPads:)

The thread 'last I checked' is an open forum on pre-order status where order status can be updated, early delivery posts can be shot down, sympathy can be offered to late delivery posts.

Last time i heard 'Freedom of Speech' was still protected by the First Amendment - perhaps Apple have an App that changed that :)

As an atheist, I get that not everyone observes Christmas. It was an analogy to which I thought most people could relate.

What I don't get, however, are people (on this forum or anywhere) who are hell-bent on shooting down anyone or their ideas and hopes. Their hope and giddy excitement don't affect you. It has no bearing on you. Why would you ever deliberately try to shoot down someone else's excitement?

Ah yes, the Freedom of Speech argument is alive and well. Yes, you have the freedom of speech. Everyone does. But you do not have the freedom of consequences from your speech. So go ahead and kvetch all you want about delivery and release being on March 16th. People may continue to respectfully ask you to stop.

And I actually didn't judge anyone. I never made statements personal, about another human being. I looked at your post history, and you do. You post statements in a public forum calling into question the intelligence of anyone who dares get excited about the remotest possibility of early delivery. What a sad thing for one person to do to another.

And your last sentence, sir, is an attempt to quash my freedom of speech. Why should I respect yours if you don't respect mine?
 
Ordered as soon as the Apple online store was available. Having it delivered at work. Ontario's 'bout 450 miles south. Expect it on the 16th, no earlier.

I paid with a debit card when I ordered. The initial hold that was placed on the funds when I ordered (3/8) were released today. I called Apple to verify all was cool on their end, and they explained that banks will often release the initial hold after X number of days, but that my card will officially be charged when my iPad ships.

Middletown is 3-4 hours from NYC so I wouldn't be surprised if mine didn't move until late Thursday.

yoo i just called apple, and they are assigning it to the shipping inquirey team. to investigate the where abouts of my ipad. they fear that it might actually be lost when they sent it to fedex.. :mad: or that they forgot to do the initial scan. they said "we will do everything to locate it and get it to you by the 16th" they would say the 16th for sure though.. i had to call 3 different times to get someone to speak to there supervisor. they did however send me a free smart cover.

SO ANYONE WHO HASNT GOTTEN THEIR TRACKING TO WORK AFTER 48 HOURS. call apple and demand to speak to the shipping inquiery team or you might not get your ipad friday like the apple store order status says..( or the apple csrs tell you)

I know overall that Apple and their delivery partners do an excellent job of coordinating a massive launch like this, but it is frustrating to be in that very small percentage of folks whose orders get messed up. I've been there (iPhone 3GS pre-order canceled for no reason), and it sucks.
 
Mine arrived in Alaska from China today and then left Alaska at the same day, not sure where it goes from there but my iPad goes to San Diego, CA. ;)

amen, its hard not to get frustrated when i called yesterday after 48 hours and told the rep , i get a vague answer and hurried off the phone when they coulda just tooko the time, researched the problem and get it fixed before its too late to deliver by the 16th.


sucks this is my first (maybe last) preorder. ive always gone to a 3rd party retail store and gotten my products early in the morning.

hopefully they can just get it resolved.

you got a free smart cover nice. maybe i should panic more when i call. i just got off the phone with them, TJ (apple rep) said that it (iPad) has shipped and I will receive it on Friday and not to worry.

BTW how cool is the automated system with Apple. I don't actually mind calling Apple's automated system vs like AT&T automated system.

i know dude! i dont get frustrated and smash the phone. i hate how %99 of all automated things have you enter your personal info (ya know to speed things up... ) only to have the csr rep ask you all the same questions you just gave to the robot:mad:
 
Shoot, my is still stuck in Hong Kong. And I would love to think that UPS could make Friday, but that may be a tall order.

Yep mine looks the same(though no scheduled delivery at the top. It also(hopefully) is not headed to WV!

Yup. Noticed that the first time I called. I was waiting for the CSR to ask me all the questions again. And was pleasantly surprised when she didn't. :)
