Anyone know how long it takes FedEx to update their tracking status? I just got my shipment email about 3 hours or so ago, but when I click the tracking link, it says "not found" ... Obviously this is normal as it just posted but I'm just curious how much longer until it updates. Thanks
What model you order? And what city is it going to?!
My order with UPS is saying the same thing. I pre-ordered the 32GB black Verizon with engraving.

I'm pretty sure my iPad 1 on launch day said it was still in China when it was in my hands.
This is my first time doing personal pickup and also my first time pre-ordering hardware from Apple... When does a pre-order for in-store pickup normally bill the order? My order on store.apple.com is still 'Processing' but I do have the charge pending on my debit card now. Does that mean they have actually reserved an iPad and are just backed up processing orders / updating the order status? I had almost given up hope of getting my new iPad by this weekend. Shut up and take my money, Apple!

Yeah, I am sure they probably wouldn't scan an entire skid, until it hit anchorage and customs. That will probably be the point where it will hit the "tracking radar," sort of speak.

Interestingly, mine too, is engraved, black, but 64 gb AT&T.
And I understand, where it might take additional time to unpack, mount, engrave, dismount, re-pack, and get it on its way.

Apple took the money today and it cost me $55 to fill up my car today on top of that. Thank God Friday is payday.
It's highly amusing to look back and see how worked up everybody was. lol

Update on ups worldwide express plus instate FedEx ipads
Just spoke with a ups rep and figured I'd share this information with yall. If your ups shipped iPad is worldwide express than it should be delivered Friday by 1030Am!! They said ups worldwide process is priority shipping and that even though when I look up tracking on ups website and it says by end of the day, she said that worldwide express will be there by 1030am! Sucks having to wait until friday but at least I know now that I won't be waiting all day Friday!
Also I recently posted this but figured I'd say it again seeing alot of the posts. If you haven't gotten shipping information and your iPad is not engraved than your iPad is already in the US. Only engraved iPads leave from china. Chances are your iPad is in Pennsylvania California or someone where and you will see shipping information Thursday the latest. All FedEx instate iPads are overnight priority so they can begin transit Thursday and make it to your door step by Friday

I'm really really hoping that my 64GB black Verizon iPad that I ordered within 10 minutes of the site being up with no engraving gets here Friday. I'm hoping that it's in the US, as others have mentioned, which is why mine still says "Preparing for Shipment" but still says "Delivers on March 16."

It's been sitting in Ontario since then and it'll probably be there until Friday when it's loaded on the truck and delivered!
