Just got a text from UPS saying it was delivered (west MI). Looks like this guy is taking a half day. Booyah.

My 64GB white engraved AT&T LTE arrived 20 minutes ago (930 AM) and is in the process of rebooting from icloud restore right now.

And I can't look at my ipad 1 screen anymore...

NYC here
got bumped too

delivery exception...

now estimated delivery is by 10pm

live in a doorman building that should sign for packages.

I just spoke to fedex. Their original contract with Apple was to get it delivered by 3 pm. They requested today to Apple that they get an extension so apple is giving them till 8 pm. This might just be NYC.

Mailroom unable to sign

Guys in the mailroom tracked it down, got the UPS driver cell phone, I met the driver in the area and got my package.:):):D

yep fedex app. my fedex.com tracking says its in meph TN while the fedex app, and fedex employees tell me it is already in Austin TX :)

I had the exact same experience. The confusion (for my order) seemed to be with the times. It said it left Memphis at 12:04pm EDT and arrived in Austin at 12.04pm CDT. Memphis was the most "recent" event in the list (listed first). It appeared that the web page was taking that to mean it was in Memphis while the app was using some other algorithm and saying it was in Austin.

Further worrying me was that it never showed it leaving Austin today (I'm in Waco) but it just suddenly popped up as out for delivery in Waco. It still doesn't show that it ever left Austin.

Still waiting but it's not quite the usual time for FedEx deliveries.

I am so unhappy now! Just when I think I won't get the delivery exception notice, I do. Ugh! My heart can't take waiting up to 11 more hours! I almost regret doing the pre-order now. Kinda stinks that I do it and there are people who went to the Apple store and are already playing with their new toys :(

No...Houston as well. Had the delivery exemption placed this morning. Was originally supposed to deliver by 3pm, but now its says 8pm as well.

Bah, it's only 8:30 AM here but my iPad got to the "local FedEx facility" at 7 am and it isn't out for delivery yet.

Phew, just went on a truck for delivery. FWIW, the Yahoo tracking updated first. I've been refreshing both to compare. The TrackThis iPhone app also pushed the alert that the status had changed before the FedEx site showed the switch.

I'm hoping I don't receive the delivery exception since I had it shipped to my office. We are waiting for a few packages not just my iPad so I hope they get here before 3pm or at the latest 6 since that's when my building locks up.

I'm in Brooklyn BTW.

I'm outside Portland, Oregon. I live in a pretty large apartment complex where FedEx delivers most every weekday. I was reading all these posts about people getting these status changes and I was hoping I wasn't one of them. I should have gone with my first instinct and gone to my local Apple store. I could have been there at around 6 and should have been on my way home now. I guess I won't try to get frustrated until around 11, when FedEx usually delivers.

FedEx Truck just pulled into my street. It's a dead-end, so now I just have to wait for it to come back :)

WTF? It just left again without dropping it off?

Its here!!!

Yay!! Just got a call saying that mine is at home! Two thumbs up for parents who are willing to stay at your house for a day to sign for an iPad! :D

Still at work, can't wait to get home and set it up! C'mon 3:00!!

As mentioned before, its been a pleasure waiting with all of you. Enjoy your iPads, I know I will! :D

My 32GB white AT&T model was delivered to my office at about 8:45AM. Love our FedEx guy! Can't wait to play with it when I get home. :)

This is what my status says, too. Same "delivery exception" times exactly.
Anybody know what this means?

An exception occurs when a package is temporarily delayed while in transit. . . . an exception does not necessarily denote a late shipment. The status exception explains the most recent exception in the scan activity section."

For example, the term "PMX" refers to a p.m. exception, when a shipment is returned to a delivery station for the night because it was undeliverable during the courier's route. Such a delivery exception may occur because the package was incorrectly addressed, a recipient was unavailable, etc. In many cases, delivery is re-attempted the next day. In this Case Monday.

Hopefully that is not your case. It is probably due to the overload of packages today.

Hurray it's here!!!!
I got it about 30 minutes ago from Fedex.
I'm now setting it up from iCloud which is taking some time especially the loading of the apps via wifi.
I could have saved me some time and just did it via iTunes but whatever.

That screen is awesome!!!:D

Just received shipment of the mine and the wife's iPads via FedEx. I'm on Long Island, south shore in Suffolk County. :) No unboxing yet though 'till she gets home in another 20 or so mins.
