I got the email too and my order was still processing.. I closed the window.. Once you have the order number with confirmation, you're good!!
 
Finally got through on the website after a couple of hours trying on both Macs and iPhone. 16GB Wi-Fi Black. Retina display, Finally!!!

I wouldn't be surprised if Apple is actually enjoying this chaos. The harder it is to place an order, the more desirable the iPad gets… This strategy has worked well for Apple before.

received confirmation e-mail. Can't wait to get it on the 16th :D

I'm sure it's a pre-authorization. Mine was an odd amount, though: $858 for an invoice of $971.44 (including estimated sales tax).

Edit: Just received email confirmation at 1355 PST - it only took about 11 minutes to get here after order went through.

got mine in around 330pm EST. 64gb white VZW. I went with verizon this time instead of att because verizons LTE network is much bigger and i figure ill upgrade every year so if ATT greatly expands their network ill switch back next year. They said in the keynote that 3G works on all devices does anyone know if the VZW LTE can get ATT 3G?
 
What a pain in the ass. After multiple crashes on the engraving page and the cart page I finally placed my order for two iPads. I only need one but it will be easier to return the extra iPad than editing my cart and watching the webpage crash yet again.

Here is a suggestion, use that $100 billion or whatever you got sitting in the bank and buy a **** ton of servers!!!!!! That way you can make more money with people wanting to order your ****!!!!!
 
question.. so the order confirmation says 'delivers march 16' - is this guaranteed? will the store eventually update its delivery date once launch day allocation is gone?
