Same thing happened to me. On the phone with Apple right now.
 
After trying for 2 hours after the pre-orders went live, I gave in around 5 minutes ago (about 8:20PM EST). I didn't feel like waiting in line even though I prefer store pick up.

Now I am anxiously awaiting my confirmation email.


EDIT: Funny, I just got the promotional email introducing the New iPad, but no confirmation yet.

My pre-order went through. Took about 20 minutes to get my confirmation email, so if you don't get it right away, don't panic.
 
Okay, I have placed the order at store.apple.com for $499 iPad. It says "we are processing the order" Does it mean, there are chances I may not get one ?
 
"Preparing for shipment" and ships on Mar 16 - but no confirmation email yet. It's been maybe three or more hours.
 
I ordered mine about 2:30 PM CST. It says delivers on march 16th. Woot! I immediately listed mine for sale after ordering and I sold it after work :) I am not sure how I will use the rest room during the next 2 weeks.. I guess that is what the iPhone is for!

Dude... get that autoplaying youtube video out of your sig. Ridiculously annoying.
 
Started trying to pre-order at 3:pm and finally got it to go through around 5PM. Ordered two black 32g black ones for my wife and myself
 
I finally got through around 5pm Central, via Apple store App.

Black 32gig WiFi, got my confirmation email, and my bank account has been "pre-charged."

Looking good.
 
For those of you who haven't received their email, check your spam. That's where mine was.

Also, would it be worth it to get a 4g model if i have a work phone that is 4g and can tether?
