Weird I have a memo on my debit card for 3 $1 charges from apple and another memo for $886. Which is odd considering my order totaled $986 64gb 4g and apple tv. I never sent the order more then once either I couldn't get in at all for a bit but first time I got in my order went thru

The $1 charges are probably just authorizations. Not too sure what the other charge is though, since the card is usually charged as your products are shipped.

No email confirmation here yet either. Ordered about 20 minutes ago. But at least I did get an order number and the "Thank You for Ordering" screen which I promptly printed out.

Tried several times earlier without any success. System kept crashing out, and at one point when it was close to going through, it said I had four iPads in my shopping cart. Ugh...

Anyway, I thought those email things were automatic, so there must be one heckuva backup. Just several million or so... ;)

I was able to get it done after a long day of having orders partially complete before I left work around dinnertime. I've ordered plenty from Apple, but this was probably the worst experience I've had with it. Talking to their customer service area, it was sad to know that their telesales area can't make a sale without doing it online for you. I guess they don't have a split processing system they can enter it into. [Thank for letting me vent on that.]

Now that all that is in the past, I'm excited to have it shipped, but I'll have to wait until Sunday to play around with it. Luckily I have a nice neighbor who is going to get it for me until I get back into town.

Just Checked the Order Status

Presently my order shows: Items Being Processed

Probably like the iPhone 4S it will stay in that state over the next few days and then about 3 days before the 16th it will move to Items Shipped.

And then the FedEx tracking can begin....

In Store Pickup

I placed an order for delivery earlier, and it says it will ship on the 16th.

Just now, I went back and ordered another, and this time the 'In Store Pickup' option was available (before it was not) so I selected it and it allowed me to select my store and process the order as normal. In the confirmation screen, it says that I will get a confirmation email when it is ready to be picked up... will this actually work? Will I have an iPad waiting for me on the 16th for pickup because I reserved it?!

I already received the confirmation to the first order, the one that is shipping. But it's only been a few minutes since I placed the 2nd order. When should I expect the confirmation? When they get them in?

I dunno, but I am crossing my fingers!

My order status according to Apple website says "Preparing for Shipment". I doubt we will get it before March 16 but what is likelihood we'll get it early? Did that ever happen to iPad 2 orders?

What time did you place your order? And what time did you get your confirmation email?

Already bracing for verbal abuse...

I know a lot of people may think this is dumb, but for the most part, I have had good service...so as a college kid, I ordered mine today, and got it shipped to my university. All packages go to a central location on campus, where I then get emailed that my package has arrived, and I come sign and pick it up (well after the ups/fedex driver is gone, I assume).

Now, something crossed my brain tonight, maybe I should call 1-800-MY-APPLE and ask them if I can switch it to in store pick up (there are two apple stores near me, notoriously packed though). Because if that is possible, I'd love to wait in a very short line, go in, pick it up, and go on my business.

Or if anyone has had experience of shipping apple stuff to a college campus before, then I could just leave well enough alone and wait anxiously for friday the 16th to arrive :D

TL;DR should I ship my new iPad to my college campus or call and (try to) get it switched to in store pick up

What time did you place your order? And what time did you get your confirmation email?

I forgot what time I ordered but I ordered around 5 to 6 pm PST maybe then I got the confirmation email 6:26 PM and then I just checked the order status at the Apple website just awhile ago and now and it still shows 'Preparing for Shipment', anybody else got the same order status?

I ordered mine at 1:30 PST and mine still says "processing". Not that I'm worried it's not going to arrive on time, but I do wonder what the difference is since I'm in SoCo.

I'm still "processing" and I ordered at 1:07pm, confirmation email at 1:14pm.

My account also had a $100 difference

Called CS and they confirmed my order for both an iPad and ATV

He also said we will send you the confirmation email and tracking email when shipped

7 hours later still no email

Status says processing items

Got mine all ordered by phone, about 2 hours after launch plus 1 hour hold time (no joke i checked) I just couldn't get through on Apples site...fun times getting close i guess, now just gotta wait till Friday 32GB Black Wifi

16GB White iPad. First iPad for me although my parents have had the iPad 2 since it's release date last year. I'm pretty excited to tag it with my iPhone 4s to work.

Darn I waited too late to order mine. I ordered a White iPad 3rd Generation 64 MB Wf-Fi + 4G but it will not be arriving on the 16th of March. It will only ship out on March 19, making it probably arrive by Friday March 23, but That is only 1 more week so it is not that bad I guess. My wife plans to use it for educational purposes at school. Mine was AT&T.

Maybe that model is running low on stock. About half an hour ago I ordered my 16gb white WiFi model (after changing my mind about waiting in line) and it says "delivered by March 16" on my order.

16gb white wifi. My first iPad. Does anyone know the delivery procedure, I ended up getting it delivered because in store pickup options were broken early in pre orders.

Do they require a signature to accept the package? No one will be home that day so I guess I'll leave them a letter and my signature to throw the box on my back step.. Maybe even a tip for having to open my fence gate lol.

Every product I've ordered from the Apple Store has required a signature for the UPS Driver. Amazon, on the other hand, never...

BTW, received my confirmation emails from Apple for the 64GB LTE iPad and new Apple TV at 230am, a couple hours after ordering. Interesting to see they sent me a second iPad order which I promptly went to the website and canceled. Must have gotten packed in during the repeated glitches of the online store...
