Ordered my first one (white) at 9 PM EST. Got the confirmation email 1 AM this morning. Cancelled the white iPad and ordered the black one (7 AM today), and got the confirmation email one hour later. March 16 delivery date.

Oh okay, I think I got the mail 3 hours after I placed the order. Thanks. Sweet waiting days for the product to arrive starts.
I ordered mine at 3:40 PST yesterday and I still haven't received a confirmation email. I'm getting worried.. is this normal?
Look at your orders on your account on Apple's website: if the order info is there showing your item, order number, delivery date, etc, you should be fine. If your order isn't showing up there, you should probably order again.

I did call yesterday (6pm EST) to confirm my order with the CS department and the money is held in my account.
I'd feel better with the email though lol

It will slip into iPad (3rd generation) and continue like much of the others in the line-up.

Well in my case I checked at the time I ordered and the 16 Gb and 32 GB versions were able to arrive on the 16th of March. However I wanted the 64 GB model and it is apparently selling faster than the others. But it should not be longer than a week more hopefully. That is not too bad. Last year I seen people ordering just a few days after it was announced and ended up waiting 3-4 weeks for their iPad.

Depending on the model you order. If you want White and 64Gb and it is from AT&T then getting it on the 16th is out of the question if ordered now.
When I post, early this am, all was still available. It could not last forever!

I ordered my 32GB Wifi model yesterday at about 4pm Eastern Time.
Received e-mail this morning that my order has shipped via UPS, tracking is showing a delivery of 3/16 and that it has "Departed" from EPZ, China.

I ordered mine yesterday late afternoon also and it's still saying Preparing for Shipment hoping that mine ships out soon and I can get it early cause we're going out of town this weekend
A lot of people are probably picking up the discounted iPad 2's which is just as good and a great deal.
